I love how for a minute there you're like "He might be talking bout Em!" Then he says smiling and you're like "Nah he mean someone else, Em don't smile" 😂
@Vince Carter eminem is not corny he is a violent rapper who likes to take shots at other rappers thats why rap is for its not only made to rap it was also made to diss and have beef and if you dont like em dissing other rappers then dont listen to him
The more I think of it, NF sounds like he's addressing all rappers and, from what I interpret, him and Em are the Ying and Yang of rap. There's no I in team (meaning more then one player), drop the T and A (leaving Em) but sometimes if I'm being honest it feels like it's only me (Em backwards). I think NF is correcting Em by saying he's carrying the Team (Rap) but NF is carrying it too (bringing it back to no I in team). Its clearly not a diss to Em but every other rapper. He talks to Em through out the song in the only way Em will really listen. He purposely put key words that gets us to think about Em so that it catches his ear, imo. I sense collab intentions rather then fighting words but what do I know :)
You're right. NF and em been "complimenting eachother subliminally, like Godzilla.. Em used same Rhymes like NF but differendly , in a subliminal way like they are complimenting eachother
it’d be like Homicide tbh, Logic and NF would be rapping fast, but not really saying anything, but Eminem actually showing off his lyricism like he does in every song.
@@frank5480 crazy you say that when almost every nf song has some intense lyricism in it. Right now NF could be arguably top 3 for lyricists in the rap game of this generation (personally I think he's the best rn). And logic I can understand the people that think he's not as good now..... but I feel like he doesn't give his music all his passion and effort cause he 'made it' in a sense. Cause all logic's underground and older shit is fire. Old logic, nf, eminem would be a crazy track. Btw not hating on logic cause I do listen to him and like him a lot, but I'm not too much of a fan of his recent stuff.
RedYoshi -12- NF uses some okay wordplay here and there and has a great flow, but that’s really it. he uses many filler lines, and some corny lines sometimes, and has little to no punchlines or technical bars in most of his songs, if not all. he’s one that makes you hype with the aggressive tone, beats, and flows, but lyrically not saying much. I agree with your opinion on Logic. the music he’s recently been putting out ranges from mediocre to trash. I don’t think it’s because “he made it” tho, I just feel like he lost the drive and inspiration that’s motivated his mixtape and Under Pressure days. also, if you wanna check out some real lyrical content, check out Joey Bada$$, MF Doom, and Denzel Curry. they’re both lyrical, and have substantial lyrics.

He is not speaking to a "certain person" he spits his line to anyone disbelieving in his talent, dissing what he raps about anybody against his beliefs his reasoning his perseverance in being a rapper. This whole album is clean!!!! 💯
I just discovered nf and he is lyrically on par w the best it there. I mopped the floor with Em Cees I can't stop until things are clean.... Straight dope 💯

Agreed, everyone is reaching. This was simply NF putting the rap world on notice and letting them know he’s not going anywhere. People just like to start shit 🤷♂️
How do you explain these : "There is no I in TEAM but drop the T&A" At the final of the song he is using the beat from Kamikaze Also: "Who you dissin'? Some times I feel like it's only me"(he said this cuz in Ringer Em said NF is a PG version of him and a copy)
Trayton Williams How can you listen to this song and think NF is dissing Em of all people NF would of called out Em by name And the TEAM part is ME not EM. You know how NF is always rapping about being alone? Honestly, all of y’all are reaching and it’s kind of stupid as fuck at this point
For sure! But, just imagine how they came up, who they used to and still spend their time with, their era(s), their niche, being established and especially working constantly for over 20+ years.. to the point everyone in the game knows not to mess with you because you came up in and still destroy in battle-rap, and still mopping up and ending careers of "rappers" that come at you for clout or to sell more albums just cuz they mention your name. And especially calling your 16yr old daughter "hot." Might make you use a cuss word or two. Lol. Em is who he is, does what he does and will always be the GOAT. NF is damn FN good though, definitely in my top favorites for sure. Talented af. Would love to see them on a piece together. Like holy shhiittt!

Sm0k3dab3ar Eminem’s new music is trash. You probably haven’t heard his old music 1999-2003. I know you haven’t listened to his old music because you said nf has more emotion in his music than Eminem lmao. But yeah new music wise Eminem isn’t that good

@@zacharyyyy if anyone misses eminems bars it's because they don't think complex enough. Eminem can say 1 line with 50 different meanings bc he is that good with words. NF already said he didn't diss eminem and said he never felt like eminem disses him. Eminem isn't someone who often recognizes someone under him so of course everyone jumped on this diss bandwagon when there is no beef or disses that could 100% be connected to eminem or nf
@Shaun Coffey em didnt diss, people assumed he dissed bc they assumed to know exactly what his word play meant. Eminem can say 1 sentence with 40 different meanings. People were just quick to jump to the fact he was dissing nf
When I'm low I feel like I'm spiraling “Pushin' forward, look, I can't ignore it There ain't no I in team, but drop the T and A Sometimes, if I'm bein' honest, feels like it's only ME” This line is not a diss at em. It’s just a rhyme scheme to emphasize how sometimes even though he has a team around him, he feels like he’s alone.

THIS SONG BY NF WAS A DISS TOWARDS EMINEM I BELIEVE. (Read this whole comment!) Ok, so I literally just watched this video 30 minutes ago and I was thinking, "naw, there's no way NF would diss Eminem..." But then I googled the lyrics to this song by NF "Returns" and....oh...my..goodness, folks. This may be a real thing. Not saying it's 100% but I just wanted to share with you the things that instantly stood out to me IF this song IS directed partly or completely. towards Eminem. I also want to say besides this video by Nolifeshaq I have not watched anyone else's thoughts about this. "I just mop the floors with MCs I can't stop until things are clean" So, it seems that he is about to direct his words towards MC's or one MC *cough, EM* 1) "I'm an amateur's what YOU think So YOU stand there in disbelief 'Til I dislocate both YOUR feet That's what happens, YOU step to me" Did Eminem claim NF was an amateur? YES! Did Eminem "step" to NF by dissing him? YES! On the song, "The Ringer", Eminem says, "I’d just be like everyone else in the f****** industry Especially aN eFFing Recovery clone of me” The thinking was, "Why would Eminem not just say the F-word? He's notorious for dropping F-bombs. And when you say, "aN eFFING recovering clone of me", you have to say "NF". So, Eminem could have been saying NF was a "clone" of him...So, lets say this is 100% a diss from Eminem towards NF saying that he's generic and a clone of him. NF has constantly been criticized for sounding close to Eminem or even identical to Eminem in his earlier music. A few more things: Notice in these lines that NF seems to be directing this to ONE single person by the word usage. Lastly, consider that there is NO WAY Eminem doesn't know about NF...He wants to stay on his throne and dropped an entire album with the main purpose of "de-throning" a long list of artists he doesn't like, including NF it seems... What if NF heard that diss in "The Ringer" and thought "Oh heck no, I'm gonna diss Eminem back and do it the SAME WAY he dissed me, with creative structure of words"... 2) "I'm kidnapping all of your dreams Hold 'EM hostage and watch 'EM scream (Ahh!)" Eminem is referred to as "EM" all the time...I don't think I need to justify that. For example, when you saw Nolifeshaq's title that NF threw shots at "EM", you knew EXACTLY who he was talking about...Eminem...What if NF is using creative word structure here to say that this song is him getting back at Eminem, and making him so humiliated that it's like Eminem being a screaming hostage. Basically NF is saying, "SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP! YOU MESSED WITH THE WRONG MC" Lol. 3) Grab a side, I am what I advertise Don't matter how you put it, we live, then we have to die You might hate it, but you can't deny See, everything that I've been doing got me looking like a mastermind It's so vain, but I vandalize that I do what you fantasizing Perhaps NF is saying, "Em, you have heard my music the last few years, and have seen the fanbase i've built, and it threatens you, because I am building something even DEEPER than what you built". A stretch? Yeah, but it's right after the lyrics where NF mentions "em" twice. Just keep reading. 4) I'm confused, yeah, I got problEMs What's the use? Yeah, let's be honest Screws are loose, I need 'EM tightened Not amused, yeah, look what I did Brought YOU something, hope YOU like it So precise, the flow the nicest So productive, stop YOUR whining "I got problEMs" Could this be NF using the same creative use of words that Eminem used against him when saying "an fing recovery clone of me"? Is NF saying now that Eminem is a PROBLEM? "Screws are loose, I need 'EM tightened"... Is NF saying that Eminem needs to be "tightened" and put into shape? Who knows...Possible! -Continued use of YOU and YOUR meaning this is one person, not many. 5) "Been so long, " yeah, okay, I know Take your shoes off, you're in my home You got fans, but not like I do, yeah Is NF saying to Eminem that he's now in his lyrical "house" (NF has an entire album called 'mansion' which is a metaphor for his mind) and that Eminem doesn't have fans as dedicated as his? Who knows. Possible! 6) There ain't no I in team, but drop the T and A Sometimes, if I'm being honest, feels like it's only me No defeat, notably, better have it right if you're quoting me Write my name on your hit list, it might be the last time you wrote something Rip that cocky smile right off your face for thinking you're close to me Grab a can of gasoline, light it all over your self-esteem "There ain't no I in team, but drop the T and A" As Nolifeshaq pointed out in the comments section, if you drop the T and A from team and leave the letters it in the order they are left in, you guessed it, you get "EM" lol! This is crazy guys! "Write my name on your hit list, it me be the last time you wrote something" When rappers diss each other it's called "taking shots"..This needs no defending. Eminem had a "hit-list" of artists on his album Kamikaze. NF was included on Eminem's "hit list" including other hip hop artists such as Lil Yachty, Lil Pump, Tyler the Creator, Joe Budden, Drake, and Lil Xan. Is NF saying that Eminem made a mistake by putting his name on his "hit-list" and that this song is a response to show that he is not going stay silent like most of the other artists did? Nolifeshaq mentioned that because NF says "rip that cocky smile right off your face" it can't be speaking of Eminem because Em doesn't smile much. However, there are tons of other things that communicate NF is dissing Eminem, and also NF could be speaking metaphorically that Eminem was smiling when he dissed NF and thought NF wouldn't respond. NF could be saying "Who's smiling now?" :) 7) I'm generic, you sure? Oh, they think I'm very reserved 'Til I open up on the beat like on my Therapy work I don't care what you heard, real scary, carry the verse While I'm wearing my merch, stomping on your arrogant turf Sit back and observe, nah, I like to actually work This life's so unpredictable, it just keeps pitching me curves I take a swing, I hate the things that make me feel like I'm dirt I've patiently been waiting, please, I think it's time for my turn "I'm generic, you sure?:" Is NF saying to Eminem, "Did you really think that through? Am I really generic? Nope." Is NF using this song to highlight how authentic he is and how his fans are possibly even more dedicated than Eminem's fans? "While I'm wearing my merch, stomping on your arrogant turf" NF's merch is part of his unique brand, and to his fans, including me, the unique merch is part of many reasons NF's platform/brand is one-of-a-kind although it's a small part of it. But the "real" brand represents a MOVEMENT of being REAL and it's part of what separates NF from other artists which is contrary to what Eminem said in his NF diss lyric. And NF is possibly saying that Eminem is being "arrogant" in thinking that nobody else can be authentic except him. "I take a swing, I hate the things that make me feel like i'm dirt" Is NF saying "I'm swinging back, Eminem, because what you said (that I am a clone of you) made me feel like dirt." "I've patiently been waiting, please, I think it's time for my turn" Eminem has a very famous song with 50 cent called "patiently waiting", so perhaps the mentioning of this line is related to Eminem. And then maybe NF saying that "I think it's time for my turn," is him saying to Eminem "You are very successful, you had your time in the lime-light, so why are you not giving me a chance and writing me off as a clone of you?" There are probably more, but I tried to keep it to the stuff that MAY be related IF this IS a diss towards Eminem. Anyway, let me know what you guys think. I enjoy Eminem and NF so this was just for fun. My conclusion is that this IS a diss towards Eminem without question...NF says "em" 5 times and there are just too many things that stand out for it to be random. :)
SHAQ: "this is my favorite song off the album so far, and I've only heard this one and the one he dropped yesterday.....besides the other ones." 🤣😂🤣😂 Coach is the best!
Dunno why people are reaching. It's back to back lines "There ain't no *I* in team, but drop the T and A Sometimes, if I'm bein'g honest, feels like it's only *me*"
@@danealsenderovich7107 do you honestly think NF was the first person to make that "no I in team but there is a ME reference". That has been being said since the late 90's. He just played off of it. It wasnt an Eminem diss.

Eminem said NF was a pg version of him and in this song he says "not too graphic but not PG" he's responding to Eminem. NF is known for his double meanings in bars I think he was calling em out as well as saying it felt like it's only him.
I figured that, but the I in team line I think is different. If you take the T and A you are left with is EM. He said it feels like ME which is em turned around
Eh, people just want those two to beef. Em talked some shit, so now everyone assume makes these big reaches. Personally I'd love those two to go at it, but I don't think it will unless NF says something HELLA disrespectfull. Em's already said his piece to NF, he has no reason to instigate things any further. NF, however, could rightfully respond and start the beef in earnest.
Nah you just gotta dig deeper into it..on one of Em's songs he says somin like "An effing recovery clone of me" but he says "An effing" in a way that sounds exactly like NF then he goes on to talk about a hitlist and stuff which in this NF says several things that seem to be directed at that such as when he says the line about being quoted and stuff..I also think after the T&A line he says somin along the lines of "and that just leaves me and not them" but he says "them" in a way that sounds a lot like "Em"
@@jin_godsblood2002 Like I said this sounds like your grasping at straws my guy, Em might have dissed NF, but he dissed a lot of rappers in that same song, NF probably was happy to be dissed by his icon especially since he really didn't say anything harsh, and if NF was to ever diss anybody he would 100% make it clear who and why he is dissing this person
The only way eminem could be took down is if NF, joyner, logic, Royce da 5’9’’, kendrick, j cole, big sean, tech n9ne and all the other lyricists teamed up and still em might win,, so i highly doubt just NF by himsen would throw shots at em cause thats suicide
Em was one of MGK's too That's why in killshot he said "when your fans become your haters" and MGK said "when your idols become your rivals" he totally took shots at em
Man, I've never heard NF until your reaction videos. I love this guy. You gotta tell me more artists like this. I love Eminem, Tom MacDonald, and now NF. I love rappers who are lyricists and rap from the heart about real things. Who else is like that? I need more artists like those. I love the fact that it seems more lyricists are coming up to destroy the mumble rappers.
Joyner Lucas is like this , he is amazing as well , I love Tom , NF , Em , Joyner , and I love MGK idc what anyone says , hotel Diablo is one of my favorite rap ablums ever. Hopsin and Dax are pretty good too
Can we just appreciate NF for the lyrical genius he is, not everyone and everything has to lead to a beef. NF would rather do a track with Em (the reason he started rhyming), then to have a battle against him
nameless um no..? I didn’t delete my comment. but if i’m the only one who can see it, to sum up, I just said that NF has basic and corny lyrics, but great delivery, flow, and message in his music. and how am I an Eminem stan? because I know that Em has made a much bigger change to Hip Hop when he was NFs age? and look, it’s all just my opinion, you’re free to disagree. have a good one
nameless yeah you’re right, that’s not his mission. but the reason why I said that in the first place is because I feel that if there ever was a rapper lyrically as good as Eminem was, even if it wasn’t their intention to change Hip Hop, they would anyway. Eminem has so much skill in rhyming that if there ever was another rapper that had as much skill as him, even if they didn’t want to, they would impact or make a name for themselves in Hip Hop one way or another. that’s just my take on it though. but as for corny lyrics, and fillers, I guess we can agree to disagree, everyone’s entitled to their opinions.
nameless NF went from a rapper with a small fanbase that always complained how underrated and unknown he was from the world. now he’s at the point his album outsold Chance the Rapper and was no. 1 around the country. this shows that regardless of how much a rapper attempts to remain under the radar and unknown, they will be recognized one way or another. it’s impossible to be a very skilled rapper consistently releasing music, and for them not to be noticed. and nah, I understand that mumble rap and trap is the new wave in Hip Hop, but the lines in a lyrical rap song still matter just as much. I think when someone listens to mumble and trap, they find the most enjoyment through its catchiness and production value. and when someone listens to lyrical rap, they find the most enjoyment through the lyrics. and I don’t think there’s a “popular style of rap”, I think every style of rap gets the same amount of recognition. but anyway, we have a lot of different perspectives on the topic, but we can agree to disagree. I don’t want to leave a long thread of comments, so I think this conversation was nice, have a good day.
Check my comment I just posted. I think this IS a diss towards Eminem. You have to understand how artists creatively use words to see it. I listed it out lyric by lyric.
He def throwing jabs at em, The one that really caught me, you'd have to be good at reading between the lines. Eminem featured in 50 cents song Patiently waiting. NF says "I've patiently waiting, please I think it's my turn." It's hard jab, but most won't catch it
There are plenty of shots at em on multiple songs where he says Em lots or being cocky or arrogant. Leave me alone starts out with a phone ringing. Eminem took a shot at NF on his song the ringer. Mentions I’ve been Patiently waiting (50 and em song). Then gun jamming reference could be something as well. Saying his shots missed him. The therapy session reference and arrogant turf. Eminem has a line from kamikaze where he says in my therapy chair, my dick hair is the length of cher. Here are the symptoms, couldn't miss 'em, wrestle with 'em Then I penny flip 'em, bounce 'em back up nowhere, you should get some Who you dissin'?
@Vince Carter Everyone saying Em was taking shots is a bit over hyping. It's more of a clever reference to NF than anything. If Em wanted to really diss NF he would've. NF has always looked up to Eminem (stating him as one of his biggest influences), and knowing him, I doubt he would make a song taking shots over a single half-assed line.
Em didn't even diss NF, only retards that over hype things think that. Why wouldn't em just strait out call out NF if he was dissing? Why would be say some stupid barely hear able shit when he's always been someone to strait out name call someone
@@t_r_a_y_e9858 I'm not sure if NF dissed Em in this song or not but I do think Em took shots at NF in the ringer. Em isn't afraid of saying the F word so why say "an Effing"?
Jack Taylor - Dxstinity “Their ain’t no I in Team but drop the T and A, If I’m honest sometimes it feels like it’s only me” Team without T and A is em that bar would mean absolute nothing if it wasn’t responding to what Em said in the ringer when he said “an effing recovery clone of me” NF is saying that he’s not an Em clone I’m not saying there gonna beef tho but those are definitely shots at Em
Patrick Bear the ad lib after the line say (n effing, ha!) he pronounce the N very clearly, also he calls him a recovery clone which is a diss on his album where nf sounds very much like him
@@meganlambert7672 that line oh kamikaze wasn't even a diss towards NF, look up the official lyrics it didn't say "NFing" Em ALWAYS makes his disses obvious, that wasn't what he meant
“Write my name on your hit list; it might be the last time you wrote something” I don’t know if this was a reference/diss to Eminem’s “Killshot” or just a general message to all rappers... 🤔
A diss to EM wouldn't be viable in the rhyme scheme he choose. Here read the lyrics of the scheme to get the full context; Pushing forward, look, I can't ignore it There ain't no I in team, but drop the T and A Sometimes, if I'm being honest, feels like it's only me No defeat, notably, better have it right if you're quoting me. Now how would that equate to a diss??? If you would like to make it about EM, it's actually a tribute to em, he uses the same cadence and switch ups as EM does. You should know who NF is, before assuming you know what he's trying to say. He actually once said that one of the reasons he is still on this planet with us is because of EM. So there's that. Have a good one.
He says there’s no I in team but drop the t and a leaving the e and m which can be reversed to spell me which he then says it’s only me in the next line. You guys broke it down completely wrong.
If it in any way relates to Em then it's a double entendre, he's saying when you take the T & A away all that's left is ME. Obviously if you take the word TEAM and take the T & A out, you're left with EM, which he could be considering the T&A as explicit content, so if you take out the explicit content, NF is the only one standing.
Man holy shit this actually makes sense ! Man if this is what you are saying then this spark might start a fire , and oh lord if that fire started I just wonder who is gonna put it out !
@@Alkhalidi44 idk. I don't really view it as a jab to Eminem. But I can see how some people are going to take that as a jab. doesn't matter to me if they end up going back and forth or if they do a song together either way it's going to be awesome!
@justkillua I think it's alot of peoples' opinion, nothing NF has ever put out even comes close to the complexity of most of Em's tracks let alone disses

It may have been a subtle nod towards what Em said, but if NF was going to start fire with Em, we would know for sure. NF would have called him out by name.
I think it was directed towards Em, but I don't think it was a diss. "There ain't no I in team, but drop the T and A ." So now we're left with EM, but then NF turns it around and says: "Sometimes, if I'm bein' honest, feels like it's only ME" He's drawing a line between him and EM.

@@frank5480 crazy you say that when almost every nf song has some intense lyricism in it. Right now NF could be arguably top 3 for lyricists in the rap game of this generation (personally I think he's the best rn). NF uses some okay wordplay here and there and has a great flow, but that’s really it. he uses many filler lines, and some corny lines sometimes, and has little to no punchlines or technical bars in most of his songs, if not all. he’s one that makes you hype with the aggressive tone, beats, and flows, but lyrically not saying much.

THIS SONG BY NF WAS A DISS TOWARDS EMINEM I BELIEVE. (Read this whole comment!)
Ok, so I literally just watched this video 30 minutes ago and I was thinking, "naw, there's no way NF would diss Eminem..." But then I googled the lyrics to this song by NF "Returns" and....oh...my..goodness, folks. This may be a real thing. Not saying it's 100% but I just wanted to share with you the things that instantly stood out to me IF this song IS directed partly or completely. towards Eminem. I also want to say besides this video by Nolifeshaq I have not watched anyone else's thoughts about this.
"I just mop the floors with MCs
I can't stop until things are clean"
So, it seems that he is about to direct his words towards MC's or one MC *cough, EM*
1) "I'm an amateur's what YOU think
So YOU stand there in disbelief
'Til I dislocate both YOUR feet
That's what happens, YOU step to me"
Did Eminem claim NF was an amateur? YES!
Did Eminem "step" to NF by dissing him? YES!
On the song, "The Ringer", Eminem says,
"I’d just be like everyone else in the f****** industry
Especially aN eFFing Recovery clone of me”
The thinking was, "Why would Eminem not just say the F-word?
2) "I'm kidnapping all of your dreams
Hold 'EM hostage and watch 'EM scream (Ahh!)"
Eminem is referred to as "EM" all the time...I don't think I need to justify that.
3) Grab a side, I am what I advertise
Don't matter how you put it, we live, then we have to die
You might hate it, but you can't deny
See, everything that I've been doing got me looking like a mastermind
It's so vain, but I vandalize that I do what you fantasizing
Perhaps NF is saying, "Em, you have heard my music the last few years, and have seen the fanbase i've built, and it threatens you, because I am building something even DEEPER than what you built". A stretch? Yeah, but it's right after the lyrics where NF mentions "em" twice. Just keep reading.
4) I'm confused, yeah, I got problEMs
What's the use? Yeah, let's be honest
Screws are loose, I need 'EM tightened
Not amused, yeah, look what I did
Brought YOU something, hope YOU like it
So precise, the flow the nicest
So productive, stop YOUR whining
"I got problEMs"
Could this be NF using the same creative use of words that Eminem used against him when saying "an fing recovery clone of me"? Is NF saying now that Eminem is a PROBLEM?
"Screws are loose, I need 'EM tightened"...
Is NF saying that Eminem needs to be "tightened" and put into shape? Who knows...Possible!
-Continued use of YOU and YOUR meaning this is one person, not many.
5) "Been so long, " yeah, okay, I know
Take your shoes off, you're in my home
You got fans, but not like I do, yeah
Is NF saying to Eminem that he's now in his lyrical "house" (NF has an entire album called 'mansion' which is a metaphor for his mind) and that Eminem doesn't have fans as dedicated as his? Who knows. Possible!
6) There ain't no I in team, but drop the T and A
Sometimes, if I'm being honest, feels like it's only me
No defeat, notably, better have it right if you're quoting me
Write my name on your hit list, it might be the last time you wrote something
Rip that cocky smile right off your face for thinking you're close to me
Grab a can of gasoline, light it all over your self-esteem
"There ain't no I in team, but drop the T and A"
As Nolifeshaq pointed out in the comments section, if you drop the T and A from team and leave the letters it in the order they are left in, you guessed it, you get "EM" lol! This is crazy guys!
"Write my name on your hit list, it me be the last time you wrote something"
When rappers diss each other it's called "taking shots"..This needs no defending.
NF could be saying "Who's smiling now?" :)
7) I'm generic, you sure?
Oh, they think I'm very reserved
'Til I open up on the beat like on my Therapy work
I don't care what you heard, real scary, carry the verse
While I'm wearing my merch, stomping on your arrogant turf
Sit back and observe, nah, I like to actually work
This life's so unpredictable, it just keeps pitching me curves
I take a swing, I hate the things that make me feel like I'm dirt
I've patiently been waiting, please, I think it's time for my turn
"I'm generic, you sure?:"
Is NF saying to Eminem, "Did you really think that through? Am I really generic? Nope." Is NF using this song to highlight how authentic he is and how his fans are possibly even more dedicated than Eminem's fans?
"While I'm wearing my merch, stomping on your arrogant turf"
NF's merch is part of his unique brand, and to his fans, including me, the unique merch is part of many reasons NF's platform/brand is one-of-a-kind although it's a small part of it. But the "real" brand represents a MOVEMENT of being REAL and it's part of what separates NF from other artists which is contrary to what Eminem said in his NF diss lyric. And NF is possibly saying that Eminem is being "arrogant" in thinking that nobody else can be authentic except him.
"I take a swing, I hate the things that make me feel like i'm dirt"
Is NF saying "I'm swinging back, Eminem, because what you said (that I am a clone of you) made me feel like dirt."
"I've patiently been waiting, please, I think it's time for my turn"
Eminem has a very famous song with 50 cent called "patiently waiting", so perhaps the mentioning of this line is related to Eminem. And then maybe NF saying that "I think it's time for my turn," is him saying to Eminem "You are very successful, you had your time in the lime-light, so why are you not giving me a chance and writing me off as a clone of you?"
There are probably more, but I tried to keep it to the stuff that MAY be related IF this IS a diss towards Eminem. Anyway, let me know what you guys think. I enjoy Eminem and NF so this was just for fun. My conclusion is that this IS a diss towards Eminem without question...NF says "em" 5 times and there are just too many things that stand out for it to be random. :)
Thanks for this

Hopsin and Dax are pretty good too
@@cleobinx Logic is also pretty good
Joyner Lucas, Logic, Hopsin, Dax are all good examples
Adam Calhoun, Ryan upchurch
Can we just appreciate NF for the lyrical genius he is, not everyone and everything has to lead to a beef.
NF would rather do a track with Em (the reason he started rhyming), then to have a battle against him
lmao he’s not a lyrical genius
nameless
um no..? I didn’t delete my comment. but if i’m the only one who can see it, to sum up, I just said that NF has basic and corny lyrics, but great delivery, flow, and message in his music. and how am I an Eminem stan? because I know that Em has made a much bigger change to Hip Hop when he was NFs age? and look, it’s all just my opinion, you’re free to disagree. have a good one
nameless
yeah you’re right, that’s not his mission. but the reason why I said that in the first place is because I feel that if there ever was a rapper lyrically as good as Eminem was, even if it wasn’t their intention to change Hip Hop, they would anyway. Eminem has so much skill in rhyming that if there ever was another rapper that had as much skill as him, even if they didn’t want to, they would impact or make a name for themselves in Hip Hop one way or another. that’s just my take on it though. but as for corny lyrics, and fillers, I guess we can agree to disagree, everyone’s entitled to their opinions.
nameless
NF went from a rapper with a small fanbase that always complained how underrated and unknown he was from the world. now he’s at the point his album outsold Chance the Rapper and was no.
People been trippin badly about beefs, NF is not dissing Em in this song
@Reallife except he litterally takes a beat and pattern from kamikaze and copies the flow for a verse right after he says "oh im generic" lol
Check my comment I just posted. I think this IS a diss towards Eminem. You have to understand how artists creatively use words to see it. I listed it out lyric by lyric.
side diss is to token, the part to em isn't a diss. It's a flex/plug
He def throwing jabs at em,
The one that really caught me, you'd have to be good at reading between the lines.
Eminem featured in 50 cents song Patiently waiting.
NF says "I've patiently waiting, please I think it's my turn."
It's hard jab, but most won't catch it
Facts he not
He ain't throwing shots bru not at em at least
But he follows up talking about himself as in M E me not em but shit Gus's you never know frfr
yea he meant "ME" like he don't need nobody else
@Dylan Caulfield he literally says "me" right after that. You're reaching too far
It's subtle shots but who else would he be listening to Em Scream
There are plenty of shots at em on multiple songs where he says Em lots or being cocky or arrogant. Leave me alone starts out with a phone ringing. Eminem took a shot at NF on his song the ringer. Mentions I’ve been Patiently waiting (50 and em song).
Then gun jamming reference could be something as well. Saying his shots missed him.
The therapy session reference and arrogant turf. Eminem has a line from kamikaze where he says in my therapy chair, my dick hair is the length of cher.
Here are the symptoms, couldn't miss 'em, wrestle with 'em
Then I penny flip 'em, bounce 'em back up nowhere, you should get some
Who you dissin'?
wow im mad at myself for sleepin on this dude
How could you? He’s literally mind blowing
You awake now tho so its all good!!
He is attacking his alter ego. The one smiling with makeup, but wearing his merch.

We need Changes next . Real deep song no cap
Lucidious?
Drop the T and A. "Em" reversed is "me"
He says and explains is right after. "It's only me"
Done. No diss to Eminem.
Patiently waiting.
Not a diss but it was meant as a reference to em just like em referencing nf in his song
"Hold em hostage and watch em scream"

🤦♂️I think everyone is reaching. 🤷♂️In my opinion he wasn't taken shots at Em. It was just word play
John Pavese exactly
someone told me it was when he said drop the T and A in Team you get Em but really the line leads to NF saying "It feels like just me"
You know it sick word play when you got people not ketchin the whole bar. Over here smh like "cant fix stupid."
The whole album is about him going through mental battles. He is not worried about anyone else 😏
"there is no i in team but drop the T and A" tEaM.
I don’t think he’s dissing Em at all. He’s more or less just taking some shots at his haters in general lol
@Vince Carter what did em says?

I agree. Feel like he’s just talking in general.
I honestly think if there are some shots or if he's just trying to set someone straight its denice another rapper that has ems flow
About time somebody actually listen to the lyrics without he saying he dissing em
Peep this line in the Ringer
"Especially aN eFFing Recovery clone of me”
I'm glad someone said this
Eminem doesn’t do subliminal diss as he states in many of his songs if he’s going to diss someone he goes right at them he doesn’t just throw shade

A diss to EM wouldn't be viable in the rhyme scheme he choose.
Here read the lyrics of the scheme to get the full context;
Pushing forward, look, I can't ignore it
There ain't no I in team, but drop the T and A Sometimes,
if I'm being honest, feels like it's only me
No defeat, notably, better have it right if you're quoting me.
Enough said
I’m not saying it’s a diss or that it’s not but ima just say sometimes your idols become your rivals 🤷♂️
@@chasejackson3080 That's like saying I'm not stupid but Ima just put this empty cup in the fridge
@@reaper17661 if you drop the t and a it becomes me. And there is I in ME
He says there’s no I in team but drop the t and a leaving the e and m which can be reversed to spell me which he then says it’s only me in the next line.
I'm just saying if he actually is referring to Eminem, then he's basically saying that him and Eminem are the best, but if you take the explicit content away it's only NF. But I can see how some people are going to take that as a jab. doesn't matter to me if they end up going back and forth or if they do a song together either way it's going to be awesome!

So now we're left with EM, but then NF turns it around and says:
"Sometimes, if I'm bein' honest, feels like it's only ME"
He's drawing a line between him and EM. NF is just NF and isn't trying to be anyone else, which is a perfect response to what Em said about NF in one of his Kamikaze tracks. This could also be directed towards people (especially reaction channels) who say "Yooo, he reminds me so much of Eminem!".
