Hey Finn! Some tip, If theres no water coming out the pump, you just need to pour water onto the water pump itself while pumping it till water comes out. Thats how we do it back then😉

They call it "Binagol ", Finn. That delicacy originally came from Tacloban Leyte but you can find that in Leyte and Samar. It is made of grated Gabi another root crop. And it has a sweet filling in the middle.

You have to prime the pump. Pour 4-5 large cups/bucket of water down the shaft/piston of the pump itself. The pump piston (not the handle) must be on the down position so the water goes inside and down. It will NOT work if the piston/shaft is up. Then 3-6 pump up and down should get the water going. :)

YOU'RE only able to enjoy that "free" airport space because that place isn't yet receiving multiple daily flights. In time when the province becomes more progressive, and trade flourishes, and more tourists comes in - I'm sure the DOTC will finally enclosed that airport field from civilians. I used to enjoy the same experience in the Dumaguete airport during the first half of the 90s while studying in Silliman University. Seeing, walking, running, biking and lying down on the airport track is a glorious experience, especially near sunset. There's nothing like it - before or since in my life. You watched the sun sets on the "Horns" mountains, and watch the glorious sea on the other end of the runway, and you lazed along with the grazing cows and goats, and see the bats and the birds passing above for their nocturnal rests. Children frolic on the runway so free and unhampered. You can even picked mildly poisonous mushrooms growing out of cattle's defecation and when you try to digest them, you get to experience the closest thing to a psychedelic LSD/peyote/psylocybin adventure. But the best thing about an "open" airfield somewhere in the Islands is how peaceful it is at dusk, how big, how epiphanic. I'm glad I enjoyed one before Dumaguete the University Town finally closes its airfield to civilians....and a man-child like me.....
for the pump, sometimes it happens when there's a leak on the gasket, instead of pulling something on the inside of the well, it leaks and pull some air from the nose (where the water comes out). sometimes putting water on top of the opening of the pump (where the piston with damage gasket) will clog the air leak, and try covering the nose opening while pumping. so all the sucking is the water from below
