The first 2 sentences in Psalms 91 clearly shows that Psalm 91 comes with conditions. We have to do verses 1 and 2 in order to receive all the protection listed the all the other verses.

Notice that in Psalm 91 it says…3 he will rescue you FROM THE TRAP of the hunter and from the plague of calamities;…”
The Lord is not saying you won’t be put in a trap, but says he will rescue you FROM IT.
Notice also in verse 5
“You will not fear the terrors of night
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the plague that roams in the dark,
or the scourge that wreaks havoc at noon.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand;
but it won’t come near you.”
There will be plagues and many people including loved ones who don’t know the Lord will die. We will have to witness this. There WILL be terrors at night that we will have to experience but we will have to completely trust the Lord. Perhaps this means that armed gun-men will try to break into your house to steal what you have or to try and murder, but we have to have faith like Daniel in the lions den.
There will be arrows or today probably bullets during the day being shot at us, but they will not hit us because of His protection.
The word scourge means “destroying destruction.” This means by the fire Christ will use to destroy the wicked of the earth at His 2nd coming. There will be thousands of people dying all around you. But God promises that as long as we are In HIM, it won’t come near us.
The Lord commands us not to fear when we see all this destruction. This is something that can only be done by the Holy Spirit. Help me Lord to be ready not to fear when the Great and Terrible Day of the Lord comes. Peace and strength to everyone.
