Saw Todd Rundgren and Utopia play on the Northeast Louisiana University campus in the mid-‘70s. The band took a break midway but Todd stayed on stage and performed an acoustic set of his solo hits. Great show!
@@MrJohnnyDistortion - At the time of this concert, Todd Rundgren had previously released a couple of top 20 hits-“We Gotta Get You a Woman” (1970) and “I Saw the Light” (1972)-and the Billboard No. 5 hit “Hello It’s Me” (1973). Plus Rundgren performed several tracks from his albums with Nazz and his solo album “Something/Anything?” While on stage by himself, I remember Todd sitting on a stool with a reel-to-reel tape deck positioned behind him playing a backing track for some of those songs.
What @hitmanhalley said ! I would also add from that time period, "It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference", "Couldn't I Just Tell You", "Wolfman Jack" and "A Dream Goes On Forever" which although not top 20, all cracked the Billboard Hot 100...
It's funny how they were searching for those peices of music back then. How to peice together all the change ups.. now we know it as IRON MAIDEN, MEGADETH, METALLICA, the bands with songs over 5 minutes. Head tripping change ups, mind blowing solos, and addictive drum intros and exits. Up the Irons.

I'm a progger. Those early Utopia albums are great
I like the curious George hat.
It’s cool
I’m an 80’s-90’s guy
There are some Spinal Tap-esque moments here that make me smile

@markparee99 Yes!!! I do believe you are correct. EC's "Fool" SG!!!
Cool. Though the video is a little fuzzy, it looks like Todd is playing Eric Clapton's 'Fool' gibson SG!
Yeah, I cleaned it up as best as i could, but it being fifty years old, it has its limitations ! :-)
No worries. Thanks for posting it!@@JoeyBrunoMusicArchives
