    Great video...I like how you say "Their English was as good as my Mandarin", often we judge people on their grasp of English, but make zero attempt to learn much of theirs.
    Good Job Paul.

      @@_w_w_ I notice this also flying from Pacific islands. The local airlines (PX, IE, FJ) tend to have a warmer cabin than Qantas and Virgin. It's noticeable on the return journey when every time on VA and QF I have to put on a jumper.

      Thanks for putting that about how hot the cabin is , I won’t be flying Asian airlines now , I’ll pay more and fly United or something business class. I feel sick really fast if it’s too hot out . Any recommendations from yyz to NRT or NGO ?

    Paul great video as always. I think if you are always getting warm on the plane make friends with the head steward/stewardess. On virgin Australia business class I spoke to said person and they advised they had preselected a temperature to their liking which was spot on in my opinion. Also, please include footwell reviews because a lot of the different seats have different space allocation in the footwells

    • @PaulStewartAviation
      @PaulStewartAviation  5 лет назад

      Hi Andrew, glad you enjoyed it. As in, include more footage and talk about the size of the footwell? That's a fair point as these designs do often have quite narrow spaces while the older 2-2-2 layouts have heaps of leg width.

    • @andrewpitt7742
      @andrewpitt7742 5 лет назад +1

      I think talking about it would be helpful to your viewers. I know from my experience the old Singapore airlines business class seat I flew in was such a wide seat but the footwell was terrible (I am US 11.5) from memory Thai A380 business was pretty good and virgin Australia 777 fine but I have read the new Singapore business product has similar issues with footwell space. Am looking at flying on the upgraded qantas A380 business product later this year back to LAX will interesting to see what qantas does for its common areas. The bar area on Virgin is a handy place to stretch your legs and have a conversation even though it probably isn’t as fancy as the Qatar emirates offerings.

    Will this route (Shanghai to Melbourne) permanently be changed to a 787, or will it go back to an a330? I hope the 787 remains - and I’ll be guessing the livery will be rebranded from Shanghai airlines to China eastern?

    • @PaulStewartAviation
      @PaulStewartAviation  5 лет назад +1

      Hi mate, I think they fly a 787 and A330 daily. Not sure about the repainting although it would make sense.

    • @kriskim320
      @kriskim320 5 лет назад

      The 787 flights are operated by Shanghai Airlines for China Eastern and is permanent - note the Flight Attendants wearing Shanghai Airlines uniform, whilst the second daily flight is operated by China Eastern with A330 and changes to 77W during the summer. There will be no re-painting as the A330's that operated to Melbourne prior to the change was also in Shanghai Airlines livery.

    Paul, looks better than you might expect. Any comment on the crucial value for money question? Is it a substantially cheaper ticket? I also note that some chinese airlines have very long layovers. How do you find them?

    • @PaulStewartAviation
      @PaulStewartAviation  5 лет назад

      Hi John, I book most of these flights with points so I can't comment on the cost. Although, I do believe they're cheaper than the legacy airlines (QF, CX, SQ...etc) Yes, the Chinese airlines seems to have very long and painful layovers. Mine was 3hrs which was perfectly fine.

      Paul Stewart since I am based in Shanghai, I have no other choice but fly with China Eastern. They do live up to a 3-star airline with relatively poor service but I must say in terms of products ( business seats) they are out performing other major Chinese airlines. They did not care about the fleet. Widebody planes only included A330 and A340. All the A350s B 787s and B777s were newly introduced. Looking forward to some more videos. Thanks
