The only one who I truly feel bad about is Bhishma. Just imagine being the strongest demigod who has death under his control cannot sit on his fathers throne, also cannot fathers children either. Imagine the pain on him seeing such weaklings becoming kings and the first capable one dying after becoming king(Satyvaki and Shantunus first son). Also tolerating palace politics one after another. The war was a blessing for him, he died on his own terms, did what he wanted. Otherwise he would've kept living longer serving those Kings who are not his blood technically 😢.
