I'd like to think the player character is the green anon guy from 4chan. It'd make a lot of sense. I just can't imagine myself sitting there, considering how everyone acts like they've seen you before. and it's about famous internet/pop culture characters playing poker, so obviously we wouldn't be included in that. But anon guy would. and we're all anon.
Jack williams-bukac google 4chan anon guy and you'll see. Basically, in 4chan, where most memes are born, if someone wants to make a gif or comic that involves them or just involves people in general, instead of using a cartoonized version of themselves they'd use this guy, he basically looks like a man in a green nylon body suit, but also wearing normal clothes on top, usually a suit and tie.
He also has a gun apparently. During the first game, a line that Tycho has, makes him appear to go for a gun (really a granola bar) and everyone (at the table) pulls a gun on him. You can hear some extra sound effects, so The Player must have a gun too.
It's a shame this was taken off of Steam some time back; would love to have revisited this. Also 10:58 Brock flicks his cigarette into his mouth. Smooth.

I've been using this game to teach myself how to play. I'm not phenomenal by any means, but you pick it up as you go. The character interactions truly are the best part. Regardless of how the hand goes, you're still entertained by these guys chatting amongst themselves.

Does anyone else think that it would be epic to get a Deluxe Poker Night with all 8 characters at one table? (plus maybe one more character like maybe a robot with Cave Johnson's personality [Yes, JK Simmons is a tough voice to get; but it would still be epic]) Maybe they could also add a story mode where that issue with the 18th amendment outlawing games actually ends up happening and the fight (or rather, card tournament) is taken to the men upstairs to overturn that outlandish law.
I don't know how many people notice this, but when Reginald is talking to the player the subtitles say "As I was saying, your seat of honor has been re-stuffed to accomadate your ... generous undercarriage." but gets interrupted by Claptrap before he can actually get the whole line out. Cheeky little Easter Egg there.

I don't really know how the game is played. I just came to watch the character interactions.
I started playing it not too long ago and I understood the game quickly. Not enough to be a pro, but you start learning it bit by bit.
Yeah. Once you play a bit, you get tye hang of it real quick. It's the classic "Easy to play, but hard to master"
