In 1973 he had his biggest hit called 'Indrani' but in 1974 Shorty failed to impress us with this beat on his album 'Love Man'. Shorty recorded his entire album (all 10 tracks) with this beat. The following year he began to claim the Soul/Calypso music with his 'Endless Vibration' album. Please do the research!
He thoroughly explained it on youtube, as to why he had to remove the Indian Riddimz/ instruments because of the heavy backlash he received from the Indian Community as they viewed "Om Shanty OM" as being sacrilegious.. and the Black Community wanted to know if he was becoming an east Indian as well.

Oh man. I'm sorry to hear about that. He's probably vex. Because he hadn't made a calypsoe in years. Last time Trini made a Soca record. It was back in 1998. He was a great singer. I'm sure. He's not all that bad. On other occasions. He was probably going through something. We'll never know. Why people carry on. The way they do. But the ranting and raving is a bit too much. I've deal with people like Trini on a daily basis. It sucks like Hell. But can't let it stop us from going forward.

You should've seen the loud talk and scene he made. The guy is a has-been, washed-up dinosaur, that is only know on an island 1,980 square miles in area. He's truly a no-body at this point in his life.

But I do believe you. On what you're saying. Some calypsonians are way too full of themselves. When they feel that their better than others. Thanks for speaking up about it. I'm a fan of Trini's work. But if he's a real A-Hole. I wouldn't bother with him then. If I was trying to talk to him in person. Life goes on.
