Learn to make a very impressive cloud form in a plastic bottle! By pumping air into an empty plastic bottle and quickly releasing the pressure, we can cool off the air and force the water to condense into a thick cloud. Its a very impressive demo that anyone can do at home.
This simple and easy science project is easy to do at home and perfect for 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade, and more. It is also very well suited for homeschool science projects. Its a cool science experiment that is fun for kids and adults alike!.
You should try it and get back to us :)
It's.....hard
Will do :D
Thanks I really needed this since I Didn't join my Class yesterday and didn't know how to Make it ;----;
do we really have to use Pyrex test tube and beaker?
nice imma try that one day
safety glasses my ass im old enough to do this on my- *EXPLOSION* aweee my eyes thats how this will end for me! ha
Could you do it in a mason jar
yup!
Can somebody explain the hypothesis for me please
Why would I pour Alcohol on my skin for fun? Or even play with alcohol?
Yesshhh I can Finally Double Jump with this

You know us terraria gamers
" we're not just going to make a cloud, we're going to make a nice cloud"
jose yante wow
jose yante.. that's what I was about to post broooooooyoooo I was just scrolling to post it boom there u are
listen to this 11:22
just the tip
😂
I love this b/c I am going to 5th grade and my school starts in august 5 and my mom says I need to go online and do math reading writing and science so I did and I like this so much
and I love school who doesn't?
when i pause, every picture makes an epic face x)
My teacher says that this is my science project
So I am doing this for my science fair!
Thanks for making this video
Morris Robb me topo this is my them from my science fair 😂
Well good luck
Love the comb over
Hi I’m Melanie! I’m a new subscriber. I love ur videos and I’m learning MORE about my grade!!! Thank you so much.God bless ya’ll
AMAZING i loved it.It gave m good info for my science experiment at school. i will definitly come and see mor of your clips
If you breathe the alcohol cloud - do you get drunk?
Yes, but you would have to do it more than once :)
Hell-Razer The term alcohol just means that a molecule has an oxygen atom bonded to a hydrogen atom. There are many different types of alcohols and some of them will cause you to go blind or even die at high enough doses. Isopropyl alcohol isn't the most toxic form of alcohol but it is toxic and not what people are talking about when someone uses the term "alcohol" in everyday language. The type of alcohol being consumed for it's intoxicating effects is ethanol alcohol. Isopropyl alcohol has more carbon atoms than ethanol alcohol and the molecule is also a completely different shape. These differences lead to severe medical problems in moderate to large doses. DO NOT DRINK OR INHALE ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL.
BeardedScienceGuy so I should drink isopropyl alcohol?
BeardedScienceGuy DANG THAT LONG
Seth L haha,
Which type of alcohol is used
I'm probably gonna do this for my science fair project so thanks!
I'm so excited!
release it and it gonna rain alcohol
Best explanation of how clouds form. Thanks! Keep the videos coming :). Want to learn more!
Cool since prohibiting
I am going to make that!!!!!!!
haha my comment got 530 likes :P
Thanks lots for putting this up. Looking forward to using this for our home ed group.
Very intellectual
Has anyone ever tried to create a rain cloud machine? Such a device might be effective against drought periods.
George Batton pop
George Batton r u Fukin dum? why would they need to make a could if they already have the water?
Aeoff Actually, ihat's a great idea! It's you who is dumb. They could do this from salty water in ocean and when the wind is favorable, allow the clouds to go inland to areas that might need it.
Nonnof Yobiznes Exactly. Well said!
This guy is so science, he can breathe in space!
Now breathe it in!
i got shocked when i heard the sound zzzzzzzzzzzzvt
Yeah it about gave me a heart attack
Sitting here thinking I want to start my own idiom for " WHAT WHAT DO YOU WANT WHAT DO YOU NEED WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW" with out sounding like an asshole "cloud in a bottle?"
That's a wonderful experiment! Just wondering... at the end when you said that the air coming out of the bottle is cool when the cloud leaks out of the hole, is the air cooler than it was before you put the pressure in? If so, how did that happen? You explained really well why the air gets warmer when you're pumping in the air because the collision of air molecules (as they're being stuffed in closer and closer together with each pump) pressurizing them. Does the air get cooler than it was before because of the opposite effect of being depressurized?
In the same way you can simulate smoking with out a cigarette in your mouth. How?
Fill your mouth with air. Put your hand on your mouth to keep it closed and push hard as if you normally blowing air from your mouth.
There will be a pressure increase in your mouth, the longer you keep the pressure the more significant the smoke produced when you open your mouth.
When you open your mouth face up and don't blow the air to see slow smoke rising out of your mouth.
Very cool trick!! :-)
5:31 yeah. No. Just no.
Where is the cloud? Did I zone off or something. I didn't see you make anything but a 15 min video of the words alcohol bike pump and pressure. I'm usually really nice and supportive of RUclips videos. But I'm so P ed off I watched this and didn't see a cloud. Please dont make videos like this. You sayed the same thing like 20 times for 15 min
From where do rain waters come.? From clouds in the sky? Nop: if that was the case we would have seen plane's flying above rain as they do above clouds.
Rain comes from far far up in the sky.
Remember: to do the following: boils and evaporate 10 barrels of water out side your house, and eveaporate then, then you must ser thst your waters are lost after evaporation.- never rains from the smoke (do you call it cloud). ? It is smoke of burned water, boiling is a form of burning. Right?
Thanks.
I'm trying this but it's not working. I punched a small millimeter-sized hole in the bottle cap and put a basketball pump needle inside. I pump about 10 times with the plastic pump and when I take it out, the air rushes out of the small needle-sized hole, but only a very very mild cloud forms. Nothing like what the video shows. I put a good amount of alcohol in. What kind of alcohol should I be using. I'm using alcohol labeled as "50% Isopropyl Alcohol." It's the only rubbing alcohol I found at the store.
metalgrinch you need to pump more to create more pressure. your basketball pump is too weak. try doubling your pump amount
put rubbing alchohal in instead
ooo, i can make a cloud in my mouth too!
That background is the background picture on my phone! I'm lame haha, nobody else would care. It's a mountain of dust and gas in the Carina Nebula. Basically a three-light-year tall pillar of cool hydrogen.
Hey Jason, why aren't you making new videoes on science experiments
I don't like maths but science is great
Please make new experimental videoes
The development of new products always begins with scientific research. Compendium on nanotechnologies that covers fundamental concepts of nano sciences and nanotechnologies, applications in three main application areas (medicine, environment and energy, information and communication technologies), and experiments that can be safely carried out by the teacher in school science laboratories. alternatively get some weed and a bowl. make a water fall b00m got some pure milky cloud in that bottle that can actually be put to some good.... getting blazed as fuck
This is how NOT to make a cool science video, he's such an old bore and he's not even old, he should take a lesson from Hank Green on how to be cool about science
since it's rubbing alcohal, is the cloud flamable? If so, can you make another video of you shooting it out and lighting it on fire?
You do a wonderful job of explaining. I do a lot of teaching in my job (university science librarian), so I'm pretty critical of teaching, and you impressed me. My kids (2.5 & 4), are just getting to a good age for slightly more complex experiments than cornstarch & water. (Although I hope they never outgrow that one- I haven't). I'm bookmarking your videos!
And we could just plant neurons in your brain and .... BOOM! Nothing happened
Neurons need a favorable environment to survive

where not only going to make a cloud but a nice cloud
You know roblox?
Is this similar to what happens when you shoot the bottle cap off of a bottle after twisting it several times? I noticed vapor comes out of the bottle if there is still a bit of water left.
You sir knows *everything* !!
Is it water vapor or alcohol vapor? Perhaps a match would answer the question. Baboom.
I wish the cloud could store my memory :'(
Kool. but way too much explaining. You just need to say what's happening as you do it
so cool!!!
i did and it actually worked and a bet it will give an A+ in the science fair
#lol #scienceisfun #goodgrade #youtubeiscool
SORRY BUT- HE LOOKS LIKE THE FLEX TAPE GUY PFFT, I love it.
can make a similar effect by twisting a water bottle and poping the cap off. Can get a good amount of fog!
It's not smoke, it's water vapor, so if you breathe out you'll only be breathing out slightly wetter air...
thank you for tech to make a cloud my score in science is was perfect thank you so much
It's all about creating pressure inside :) It might take a bit longer with the pump you have but it still should work.
probably not as he did say to use rubbing alcohol which has I think has a low alcoholic percentage.
we would need mars to be made of another type of material the "red" is technically iron-oxide, rust!
So we could just plant trees on Mars and start making clouds... BOOM! ATMOSHPERE thats breathable!!
Do everyting with a easly breakble glass jar and throw it in the ground and become a master ninja
u can do it urself just use ur mouth and do the same...
press the air in ur mouth und release it.
That's really cool
That's really cool
Hey Kids - you can also use vodka, when you are done just inhale the cloud and get drunk too!
It didn't work for me so thanks I had to go to the store and buy a drink for nothing thanks
Mars doesn't have a magnetic field which means the solar winds will blow away the atmosphere
I went out of my way to Google if anyone has ever put a cloud in a bottle. So idk what you're talking about! ^_^
Brilliant presentation. Well done. I like your tone and presentation
If the cloud is in the bottle and you seal the bottle shouldn't the cloud stay there?
This is great but the guy really talks so much it makes the vid boring and hard to bare.
It's almost weird how the top comments on random videos always know what I'm doing...
Is it okay if I inhale the cloud from the bottle?
At 1.25x hes just talking normal
I'd suspect that the alcohol content is far too low to attain satisfactory results.
Amazing experiment. Thanks for sharing
well then why dosent it rain in the desert more offten ? the desert has dust...
YES!! I can double jump now!
(Reference to Terraria, you probably won't get it)
Cool trick.....
1: Play the video
2: RIGHT click
3: Watch him move really fast
can an ordinary alcohol be alright?i just need to know pls
Help me! I didn't wear the safety goggles and my eyes just drank the ethanol.
2 things to say 1. I gave it 50 pumps and my bottle exploded. 2. 5:54 no sh!t
He either looks like crazyrussianhacker with those glasses, or just a badass..
Im wondering of we can use denatured alcohol?
Can you make a thunder storm in a bottle? Probably not.
You've now made some roasted sausage.
Can you use an electric pump for air mattresses? I don't have a bicycle pump
If you put the cloud in the freezer it will explode. Don't try it, it might break stuff.
I pumped it too much and it burst… :(
So you basically created 1034 kilopascals of pressure with just a hand held pump... ( ͠° ͟ʖ ͡°)
Get off of your bed and your lap top and take a break from those websites.
@@PotionsMaster666 maybe it wasn't a hand pump maybe a auto? were it just blows it up itself?
am i the only one who thought that the background looks like cats in space
you would have tiny clouds when you released them. it wouldn't rain at all.
I have a project for school but they don't allows achohal soooooooo
Saw the video title: Cloud in a bottle: My reaction: TERRARIA
And you could of kept your mouth closed. Guess it cancels each other out.
What what happens? if you keep the pressure in cold freezing conditions?
I pretended to vape with this. I’m 2 months old.
as soon as is saw this video i click on it like as fast as the boeing 747
I didn't come here for review. I came here to make a fucking cloud. -_-
Terraria puns anyone? No? Cloud In A Bottle? Huh? :P
