This is my favourite icarus play through. you balance showing us important information without showing us all the long recourse gathering which can make a video boring. Keep on grinding with the regular videos you'll reach 100k within 2024
Boring... for you. Try to remember that your opinion is subjective and that not everyone finds the same stuff boring. I, for one, would like to see more of the resource gathering as I like the sound it makes and it lets me live more vicariously through the video. The reason we watch gaming is because one of the following: a) We don't want to play, but we enjoy the idea b) We're not as good at the game and we enjoy watching people who are c) We're playing the game but enjoy other's perspectives d) We just want something in the background and long videos are a good way to have consistent audio without wondering what's on currently. e) We aren't sure if we like the game and we want more information. If the video is short and a lot of the "boring shit" is cut out, how will we know if we like it? What if we get into playing it and realize it takes hours, not minutes, to gather as much ore as this guy gathers? What a way to hinder the experience.
@@Dyanosis It is a tough balance, I actually stopped recording large portions of gathering because the footage files become so large. I'm trying to strike a balance with what I show in the videos.
@@Dyanosis Like Danny said, I think there is a balance to be had here. Personally, one of the things that makes these videos so great is that a lot of the mining, gathering, traveling, etc, is edited out. Most of the video is filled with substantive gameplay; building the base, doing an operation, etc. But for those of you that like the mining and what not, Danny still goes into how the miasmic tools work for instance, and we still often see how the mining works, he just shortens it down to a minute or two versus the 20 it took to actually do the entire thing. If you like the streaming sort of format, there are many other Icarus playthroughs with plenty of that. Danny is one of the few that edits it out, and one of the reasons I prefer his playthrough to others.
@@Dyanosis I'm not saying it is boring to watch him resource gather, for example when he went to the lava biom to get the obsidian I found that interesting. However trying to fit both resource gathering and progression into the same video can be difficult. And of course that's my opinion as you have stated yours, im not trying to tell him what to do but his videos will improve if he knows what his viewer's like and dislike about his content. That's why I left a comment
This is probably one of the only series I've found myself continuing. Usually, I find it hard to make it through the slow start of survival game series. However, I find myself coming back for every new episode. Honestly, I find it slightly annoying when people try to backseat game and tell you all of the min/max things you aren't doing. I think part of why I like what you do is because you play how I would by playing well without sacrificing fun to be the most optimal you can be. Keep up the great work!
Try changing the Barn walls from Interior Wood to Scoria Bricks. Also Art Deco Bed gives better Sleep Quality Buff. And the ArtDeco Fire Place is a must have. Overall a great episode! ☺
I will definitely be putting more Art Deco stuff in the room, keep an eye out for the next part! I'm conflicted about upgrading the barn walls, I love the look. I wish interior wood had a reinforced version like regular wood.
Danny I love your videos bro. Swallowed every single one. I love your narration, pace, editing, everything. Just continue bro, don't stop! :) If you are interested in playing together, let me know. I have 235h. Maybe, not much but I have decent knowledge of Icarus! :) Thanks!
Thank you for watching all the episodes! So glad to hear you enjoy it. I am mainly solo on Icarus, but I was thinking maybe in the future doing some online play or setting up a community server. That could be a ton of fun.
this was an awesome episode probably the best of what will be the entire series... lvl sixty the shandalier power station umm the windows the bird dying.... the rug WOW!!!!... I look forward to even the normal episodes just day to day in your awesome Rothko Falls base

Totally awesome base upgrade.... It would be cool if you had a bridge to the roof to the power room 👍👍 Killer episode brother, you are SLAYING Prometheus ! Take care, ~Jonny5🥁
I love watching this particularly the huge base build and how cool of designs you use. I hope you make more and make even larger compound setups with more intricate designs.

took me a day to watch 10 episodes of Icarus hardcore usually watching Neebs or Genosis or the hermits from minecraft but unfortunatly for them im busy tryng to catch up on your hardcore series cant wait what the next episode holds for us
Love this vid and series Danny! I still can't get over the beauty of that ceiling! I knew that chandelier would look amazing in your base sleeping area. You've really inspired me to give Prometheus a shot. The colors are a lot to take in but the gameplay is definitely a step up from Olympus and Styx. Keep up the fantastic grind!
I started watching Infinity Gaming right before you started this series. Caught a couple streams too. Both of you have been full of useful tips. Love these super long edits as well brother!! 👏
Another use for spoiled plants is for making volatile substance vials which you can use to make explosive rounds for your gunpowder weapons. Seeing as gunpowder is as cheap as it is, the main bottleneck being only the crafting time really, you could use your spoiled plants for that. The explosive rounds pack a serious punch and are worth it in my opinion. edit: You may also want to consider building a second miasmic pickaxe and putting a platinum mod on one and a titanium mod on the other. They give you a 40% yield for that specific ore, which is a little crazy if you ask me when you're getting the buff on the noxious ores as well. On another note, would you be willing to share how you manage to avoid frame drops? I'm running an RTX4070 and a ryzen 7 7800X3D, and I will be getting 140fps but every few minutes, my frames will drop to life 10fps for a few seconds, sometimes even a minute or two out of nowhere. You seem to have avoided this. Share your secrets plzzzz.
Thanks for the tip! I definitely want to give explosive rounds a shot with the trench. For frame drops, honestly I'm not sure haha. I have everything on Epic settings, using a 3080. I do occasionally get some frame drops, but don't include those in the recording.
@2:51-@2:55 - I spot a but in Icarus - The reward at 2:51 says you'll get 250 Ren and 300 whatever while the reward on the actual mission says 375 Ren and 450. Yikes. Which one is true?
Hey, for the power supply/demand tab, u have to add the priority demand and the demand together for the total demand, so its x amount priority demand plus y amount regular demand. you can double check it at 1:24:00 just adding the two highest demanders (2 electric drills and deepfreeze) would add to 6500 demand. a few episodes earlier u mentioned that the power network would be totally fine with a supply of 12k, a demand of 10k and a priority demand of 4k or something along the lines, at that point it wasn't fine, it was draining the batteries while daytime, therefore shorten the time the base beeing operational on nighttime. Also for solar, you usually should produce double the needed power while day time, to have the surplus fill the batteries for nighttime, with the day/night cycle in icarus im however not 100% certain if its 12hrs day to 12hours night, so the ratio should change accordingly, overall it's good practice imo to produce a little extra power than having too little, however with sleeping the night away as it's handled in icarus having less than double the power should mostly be fine too.
I end up crafting more batteries in the next one so that is all squared away. I double checked my network and I was having fully charged batteries by evening so everything works out!
@@dannyrothko Adding batteries won't change the ratio for solar power provided to solar power needed to sustain the power through the night. It's pretty simple math if you got 12 hours of sunlight and 12 hours of night you have provide enough surplus power (which get stored in the batteries) for the night while the sun shines in the case of 12 hours to 12 hours it's simply just provide double the amount needed to sustain it. the amount of batteries only matter if the storage or the battery output would bottleneck the system. for icarus having 1 battery per 3 solar panels would be fine, as advanced batteries can provide up to 10k power and 3 solar panels in perfect ratio would effectivly provide 9k power (3 each, as half of the 6k poweroutput would be meant to charge the batteries for the night). Storage cap wise idk right now as at what rate the output is measuerd in ingame time if the 9k battery output means 9k power per ingame hour the 6 million cap is plenty if it's per ingame minute it might get close (12 hours would be 720 minutes so in the 12hour night it would use up 720*9000=6.48million that's over the cap). So extra batteries won't hurt, but they won't help neither, they would only delay the collapse of the power grid, if ran without skipping the nights (which screwes up the math, in favor of a less surplus ratio, the way it's handled ingame).
Thank you! Hm, I was originally thinking of maybe doing glass on the roof. I think I like the look of the brick version, but maybe when we make a green house we do another octagonal building with the same roof design, but out of glass.

So after you get the frozen pickaxe* you'll no longer need to drill for super cooled ice because you'll get that from frozen ore in furnace.
