Good afternoon, Jeff. The models are going back and forth on which areas will see Winter precipitation this weekend and into next week. I’ll keep you updated.
@ You do excellent work! As to the diversity in models, perhaps La Niña is adding to the uncertainty. Your commentary on the varied models is really interesting!
It looks quite likely that Winter precipitation will fall in Central Ohio right now. We just don't know if it will be snow, freezing rain, sleet, or all of those. I'll keep you updated.
Thank you for the update!! Always watching!! I am hoping for the Deep South snow the second week in January!!! My weather app is calling for it but I know it’s far out… not holding my breath 😂 it’s been quite a while for us here in central NC for a good amount of snow ❄️
Hey, thanks for always watching. I truly appreciate it! The weather pattern heading into the second week of January is about as good as I've seen it for cold and a chance for snow across the Deep South. Definitely not a slam dunk for snow, but it's a good setup. I'll continue to keep you updated. Happy New Year!
Looking likely. But don’t be surprised with a last-minute shift south on the models as it gets closer to the weekend. Something I’ll be watching. I’ll keep you updated.
Hey, Steve. It’s been very active with several storm systems moving into the Pacific Northwest this season. I expect many more storms to move across that region in January as well.

There is currently a Winter Storm Warning in effect for Clarinda, Iowa until Midnight Monday morning. Heavy snowfall accumulations of 6 to 12 inches can be expected. A light glaze of ice is also possible.
Well, North Carolina is pretty far south. It'll take a lot of cold air for it to snow that far south. But I wouldn't rule it out by the middle of January.
All of the models have a storm. The track of the storm is uncertain, and therefore the snowfall and ice amounts remain uncertain right now. I’ll keep you updated.
