Hi, Geckobricks here. I'm so happy to hear you like the rocket booster kit and thank you for taking the time to make a video on the product. I've personally been a fan of your channel for a while so I was pleasantly surprised to see the SRB kit in my youtube feed! If anyone needs any help printing one of their own, do feel free to reach out on the download page.

Do you think that Polyterra Sunrise Orange would be a better color match for the tank?

    • @GeckoBricksUK

I think that sunrise orange could look good, its a much more traditional bright orange by the look of it. I would also recommend Copymaster3D Premium PLA Rust Copper which you can still find online in some stores@@fdavpach

"The videos themselves weren't that popular on the channel" because of the yt algorithm I believe. I regularly watch your videos, I'm very interested in 3d printing and stuff, but these videos somehow never appeared in my recommendations?

This is an interesting case where Lego could have made the brick container that is also a part - imagine if the tube of the huge tank was actually a single piece being the container for the whole set similar to those of Bionicle/Roboriders sets tube packaging. The tank could have been two piece tube with pointy screwed in top containing all the bricks for the shuttle and boosters. But it potentially would need to be made bigger in diameter because of that if the pieces wouldn't fit.

I don't mind 3D printed parts for LEGO, in particular for technic lego since it gives more options. And this model looks great with the space shuttle, I would however have prefered it if the parts the fuel tank and boosters were made of, were more lego/like kompatible.

Well the speed number is pure marketing. The speed could theoretically print at that speed, and the motor movement would allow it to go above 1000mm^2 but the filament has to melt fast enough for the material to be able to exit the extruder. There are high flow nozzles, but its hard to print at a very high speed

I tried building that fuel tank and boosters and launchpad, but the problem was that the boosters were poorly designed and was expected to hold most of the weight on the launch pad. So it all fell apart, so not recommended.

    • @RacingBrick

I didn't experience any "poor design", according to the instructions you are advised to glue the components and they should be able to support the weight. Maybe you should double check the instructions and the quality of your prints?

WTF are you talking about? What do you think "technology" means? Electric motors are technology and in nearly everything. Even the Amish modify electric tech to run on compressed air and steam.
