Two epic legends on an EPIC map. Can't wait to watch, and happy weekend Falcon and all, and Fall. Blustery day in my area, haha. This one is going to be awesome, no question, thanks again for the new matches on the near daily!
well rhymed!!
I cannot deny my absolute love of this defence protoss play by snow. Almost like he was playing Terran. This is a definite game of the year contender.
That 13:20 engagement was terrific protoss play.
24:48 "This guy's having a bit of an anxiety attack;" that was awesome! X^D And what an off the scale game! Thank you Falcon!
😁
0:54 Overlord says:"" Howr owr owr howowrrr""
34:15 - Luckily Snow finds out guardians cocoons, storms them and archons them, forcing cancel and killing 7 out of 12 mutalisks.
0:29 The snow was painted red with zerg blood.
So I'm not sure if I've really seen this before but I'm trying to make some maths here on the fly. So I think the idea is that you get your hatch up a bit faster. It's not economically ideal but normally if you go for 9 pool you have 3 larva and that makes for 6 lings but with that fast 2nd base there's double the amount of larva to be used and that means way more lings. Now against a gate opener like this you might actually be able to just kill the protoss with that if they make even a tinyest mistake. And if you can't instantly just kill them you aren't completely all in I guess because you have that extra larva you can use to drone up behind this pressure. This may actually be really strong move.
This. It's for the extra larva. You only get a few more seconds but if those are what decide it, really early hatch gets you more lings in one wave. If that is worth the lost econ is another matter but, in terms of an early punch, those 10-12 lings are a lot better than 6. I vaguely recall this being somewhat common ages ago? I forget why it fell in/out of favor. Prolly due to lack of flexibility. You commit to that hatch and cannot really adapt if something goes wrong cause, well, you sunk those minerals + lost mining time in larva that, if you can't use 'em, are useless.
snow's matches are really growing on me
what a nonstop game, some part like tower defence but towers archons
that was an epic asswhooping scrapfest... good shit rjb
that was a very poor use of guardians
I've been actually thinking about trying arbiter recalls against zergs. It's so tough to try to take down bases especially high ground bases with nyduses. Seems impossible to get up the ramp with all those reinforcements flooding through the nydus. But zergs aren't very used to encountering arbiters so there aren't usually much air defense on those bases and if you recall your army straight on to the high ground and target the nydus straight away you might be able to take down the base. It's quite impossible to win a zerg if you can't prevent them from getting all those bases. Of course the problem would be that after the 1st base goes down to a recall the whole map will be full of scourge.
Light's observing APM faster than my playing APM.
You said that backwards
@@satan4hireno I didn’t, he is really observing faster, than I’m playing.

Bong time, Falcon 🎉🔥
Great game. This is why I love watching this game.
calm destruction is good before bed
I was going to laugh out loud because I thought you were quoting LINKIN PARK! If you had said, in the end, it doesn’t even matter. I would’ve cried.
Pretty sick defensive game... Archons, reavers and HT don't care about dark swarm... Soma needed to kill those later protoss bases.
Protoss players are slowly figuring out how to defeat zerg more consistently. It's about the race for the final few bases. Zerg will lose the game if protoss secures a fresh corner of the map and resources dry up on both sides, because protoss is much more resource efficient.
The difficult part is surviving while holding on to the final bases. Zerg can put pressure on many protoss bases at once, so it's difficult to expand while protecting every active base.
Alternatively protoss can attempt a multi-pronged offensive in the middle game, but that hinges on having an advantage out of the early game or zerg being caught by surprise. It's a risky strategy that puts a lot of pressure on zerg, but if it fails the game is essentially over and zerg wins.
There was everything in this game: early game cheesing, drops, guardins, ultras... Nothing helped. That's second game where Snow just defends against zerg, showing how helpless zerg could possibly be. And all this is done way below 300 apm
I played once on Polypoid! Interesting map! 🙂
I'm glad to see some new Toss's strategies work on Zerg.
Great!
So the Conclave win with absolute.
Just easy example of "just dont let Zerg outmacro you "your 4-5 bases vs 8-9 Zerg bases" and they will not be able to do anything, if you just have same macro and will play from defence"
Sadly 95% of Protoss players just trying to "end game while on 4-5 bases" (or even 2-3 bases), and after they failing - Zerg just outmacroing and swarming from 8-9 bases, 95% of PvZ)
Also - "Reavers power" in nutshell, same for 95% P player - why just ignoring usage of "ultimate antizerg late-game unit"))
Perfectly executed, just pleasure to watch)
Reavers are insanely strong vs zerg, they are forced to do a heavy commit to air to beat them. Snow put on a clinic showing just how much reavers can shut down the ling/hydra/lurker/dark swarm. Lots of perfect storms in there too of course, but thats a given at the pro level. Ultras just don't have what it takes to withstand archon/storm/reaver, they will never take that fight.
you should only micro your units in combat:
1. at the beginning of the game where base expansion is important
2. towards the end of the game where you have must have situations (bases, final engagements, etc.)
3. during drops where you need to inflict maximum economic damage
Snow win like a coward,
Soma lose like a hero! 😁😁😁
29:49😅😅😅
shield batteries would be so good if they could autocast like the moon wells in wc3
Snow absolutely earned that hard-fought victory. Soma played quite well. Snow had some important connections at clutch moments and his storms were totally on-point.
Fu for spoiling
@@ogladaczfilmikow you should expect to see spoilers in the comments. That's kind of the point, is to discuss what happened.
And if you want to change a person's behavior, starting out with "Fu" is about the worst way to go about it.
I recommend that you attempt courtesy in your future endeavors. You'd be amazed at the results.
woohoo! great game!
is there a problem with using queens endgame here? just taking notes
31:42 at this point protoss can just turtle and hold the top base for the win
Another great game, Falcon, thanks. Well, every time I see this kind of plays, I always think that the storm spell should be nerfed as the ability of Protoss to turtle is practically absolute.
ese zerg es una BESTIA JUGANDO
Super original comment incoming:
Psi storm needs a serious nerfing. It having been said ~100k times is not enough times
Of course overpowered Protoss wins again. Storm should cost as much mana as Spawn Broodling so you can only cast it once then it wouldn't be as overpowered
I think giving upgraded HTs two storms instead of three would be more than enough nerfing.
snow vs soma during the height of college football season??? top 10 match up alert HollA!!! these guys know they are as good or better than CFB and UFC, they also know rushing is hotsauce and lings are wild beasts that can wreck all ur SCV!!!
Not one mind control?! No drone mind control? No ultralisk or defiler mind control?! Nothing?!
gg
Soma can counter with BroodQueens.
For the algorithm
snows got a weakness in macro - he stops building units to replenish the ones he will lose because his micro is so good
so if he takes a bad engagement and loses most of his army, it takes more time to rush units back to the front
i would take someone like larva who just keeps his build queues full (or in his case, his idle larvae at a minimum because everything is hatching into something always) and does minimal micro vs someone who wins battles first hand with good micro but loses the war
I thought Snow was Korean, not white.
omg..another game where Z was far more better..but P won due to overpowered storms...What must happen that Blizzard will do something?!
no one make queens..3 with so many archons,,,ensure two or three snares at once instead of dark swarm
Ensnare does nothing vs that type of protoss force, but spawn broodling would have been huge to pick off HTs. The storms were doing too much damage.
Soma атакует хуже компьютера
what a fun Protoss vs Zerg to watch. Dark archons are definetely underrated and not used unit by Protoss players.
This seemed such a great multiplayer game but also gives me the sense of a very hard Campaign map. Defending in 2nd new base from top left definetely brought a sense of difficulty to protoss player
Ridiculous how bad guardians are. Why did they never got buffed?
I think guardians would be a nightmare if buffed, but the way they are is pretty pathetic.
@28 minutes comment. art of war by sun tzu dictates, attack where the enemy is not. attacking into reavers and archons where cannons give sight is foolish. attack elsewhere. load the damn lords and take out bases.
literally 3 minutes after this comment, 3 bases went down.
14 archons @39 minutes. snows been working on archons entirely cause gas is endkless. he started stretching out his mins from 25 minutes in.
NICE!
"Man, you can't beat Snow" - Artosis in a sad voice.
@RJBTV has been wrong a lot. In phantom xD
Tough defensive strategy 💪
41:31 in the end it doesn't even matter 😉 GG
