Always loved Shocker's suit and gimmick. Although he started off as a cocky guy, later stories toned him down to be more level-headed and professional, which I really like, as it makes him different from most supervillains and especially most Spider-Man villains. Cosplayed him a few times at New York Comic Con and always turned a few heads because nobody else ever did him, heh heh.
@@damianprock1650 Very true and it brings up another good thing about Shocker, that he can do solo stories or work as muscle for other villains. Kingpin with nameless goons is good, but Kingpin with goons led by Shocker adds more threat to the story without needing a complex reasons for his presence.
For sure, you don't see that many Spider-Man villains that are being professional criminals as compared to "I will destroy Spider-Man!" In fact, that is what makes me respect him for sure, as he has also managed to win fights against him more than some of his other foes. Shocker definitely deserves his place among his rogues gallery, especially considering he has earned his status as a Sinister Six member. That is also a similar reason for me liking Roderick Kingsley (the first Hobgoblin), another classic Spider-Man villain who is more concerned with being professional and successful instead of fixated on revenge. It definitely helps both of the characters, but considering Shocker is arguably more professional due to not letting his greed blind him like Kingsley, it is safe to assume Shocker is a slightly more professional villain.
"Just another manic monday" was really interesting take on him. I mean, his day starts listening news and hearing that even stilt-man got more coverage than him.
Shocker is kind of strange mirror of spider man. You know how spidey is occasionally showed like how "ordinary guy" would become a superhero with everyday problems? Well, Shocker is kind of what would happen if your average guy would become a super criminal. He told in one story that he just originally wanted an easy gig to get money with lowest risk possible. However as time went by, he admitted that he started to kinda like it how everyone called him a supervillain and started to be "in the game" just for the fame rather than the paycheck.
Shocker is legit my favourite spiderman villain. I loved his character design and i thought his gauntlets were super dope. I loved him in the spiderman videogames too

They'd be paid if the the job was done, but thanks to Spider-Man, it never happened, it's the same principle used in *Batman:Arkham Origins,* when the Joker(disguised as Black Mask at the time) hired Killer Croc, Electrocutioner, Deathstroke, Copperhead, Firefly, Lady Shiva, Deadshot, and Bane to kill Batman, all of them failing their mandate big time, same is said about the Insidious 6, you can't possibly expect them to be paid if they fail their mandate
What if this guy started picking up scraps from other characters technology and implemented them in his equipment, improving it? The way he is pictured, it looks like he could be an evil version of iron man.
I very much do like it when he's portrayed as the super villain equivalent of a guy just trying to make an "honest" living and is far more powerful than he usually appears to be, but doesn't go for higher Stakes because of the likeliness of attracting more dangerous attention like Frank. If flanderized in the right ways, he could definitely be a good foil to Peter's superhero career
This dude had the foresight to create his padded suit so he didn’t liquify his insides when he used his shock gauntlets. And he uses his abilities in a lot more ways than just blasting energy.

The only reason why shocker was my favorite enemy of spiderman is because when I was about 12 or 13 I had the 2002 spiderman the movie game for PS2. I used cheats like imiarmas to unlock all levels. Thinking I could wield his power just to see how the fight would end. Turns out it was cosmetic outfit for spiderman. Only for aesthetic purposes and I was quite disappointed really. The fight took place in the train station that was underground. Since I was unfamiliar with the area at the time and he was the Ai. He would know how to defeat me much easier. After watching some of the cutscenes that were displaying his power knowing full well what he was capable of and the fact that I had to face him. At the time I couldn't. I would rather face green goblin than shocker. Since then after the bash between him and I. I grew to respect the character. Cocky and powerful he maybe. If I had the webhead's abilities I would like to see how well I would fair in a fight with him. So shocker became a favorite of mine. It was quite disheartening to see him as a common criminal in a random crime event in the game ultimate Spider-Man in 2005. So that was a real let down. He didn't even sport his iconic outfit in the Raimi games as well as the old school comics. So much for build up. When he returned in spiderman ps4. I was quite pleased to see him again. Chasing him down in NYC along with a fight. I waited a long time for a proper rematch and this time. I wasn't pulling any punches. I even set the game on the hardest difficulty possible.
