I've never heard this song until now but I used to see Reel Big Fish in Sonoma County for $5 with other ska and punk bands. I might still have my yellow Reel Big Fish button somewhere in a box in the garage.
This actually could be a great song! I've remembered it for all these years. Excellent marketing on their part. Funny how the brain works , I can't recall certain things that happened last week but I remember this song & commercial vividly from years ago. Yep... In 2001, (the year this commercial was created) Post-Grunge bands such as Lit, Blink 182 and especially Green Day were still a major influence in the mainstream music industry. Their emo, teenage Garage Rock type sound seeped into the media and dominated Pop & Rock stations for about 4 - 7 more years. Good times...
@@NostalgiCrazy Yeah, I call 'Indie music' hipster music. I think Modest Mouse, Florence & The Machine, Cage The Elephant and Kings of Leon were a big influence in this trend. I've seen a lot of Rock trends come & go in my days and 'Indie' (imo) is just corny & echo-y. It sounds like background music for an MTV drama series. I'd rather even listen to K Pop and the Jonas Brothers over that at this point. Indie music is so lame and overused.
You know what got me here? I randomly got curious what the derivative of acceleration wrt time was (it's jerk if you're curious), then the derivative of that is snap, the next derivative is crackle, then finally pop.
