It's a very generous and productive gift from some clearly loving if not slightly pushy parents. Personally I'd rather the deposit for a house or trip around the world but yeh i wouldn't mind a free college education I suppose. If that's what I got🤣 x btw Iv been to collage. @@Potatwa_chipzz not all adults think the same way. people are all brought up differently and have different experiences and opinions. No one is right or wrong it's just about if you want to go or not. that's alot of pressure your family are putting on you at 13. I agree it's great to be educated but your still young you got plenty of time to worry about adult stuff when your an adult. Enjoy your childhood! It goes fast! Xx

My parents grew up without much, but they worked so hard to give me and my sister a good life. We are comfortable(not rich). My sister is going to college next year, and while my parents have put as much as they can towards collage, it’s still been extremely difficult to find an affordable school. Even though my sister got multiple scholarships, and a small amount of financial aid. This is truly an amazing gift, your kids are so lucky to have!

I'm going into my senior year of college after transferring to 2 different colleges. I've experienced each type except for community college. They will thank you for this when they don't have to worry about debt just by going to a public college, let alone a private college. Investing in your child's future is one of the best things you can do as a parent- sincerely, someone who has 100k+ in student loans before I'm out of undergrad.

I'm a 27 year old currently drowning in student debt after going to community college and working 40+ hour weeks through public university with no private loans. My siblings are even worse off because they chose private 4 year schools. I wish every day that my parents had prioritized any amount of college savings over the big house with the 3 car garage.
