I FUCKIN LOVE THIS ALBUM!! The songs, the solos...it was a perfect album!!! As psyched as I was about the reunion tour, I was just as bummed that I wasn't getting a revenge 2...carnival of souls had its moments, but in my opinion, couldn't stand next to Revenge!!!!
Bruce Kulick, Eric Carr, and Eric Singer were the best members Gene and Paul ever had. The reunion should have been a one off tour then have the makeup off permenantly.
For me I'm not a Bias KISS fan my favorite studio lp is Creatures #1 Destroyer #2 Revenge #3 ...three of the KISS guitarist ....nothing beats Alive !!!!
Overrated album that underperformed. 'Unholy' was great but the rest was average to sub-par. Plus the fact they recorded 'Revenge' while locking Eric Carr out of the studio & continued while he was on his deathbed, disrespectful! Bruce is a gentleman & the best overall guitarist Kiss has ever had to this day, I've been honoured to meet him & he's a great guy. But I have to disagree with his comment, Paul Stanley wrote plenty of fluff on 'Revenge'! Gene gets a bad rap for his 80's contributions but Paul had just as many bad songs as Gene with no outside distractions. However I think the follow-up to 'Revenge' album, 'Carnival Of Souls' is actually a much better & heavier album. Bruce has his strongest songwriting contributions on it also. Their most underrated record & best musically.
I didn't know a lot of that stuff. I remember carnival of souls, it took forever to come out. It is heavier and yea I kinda wish they'd kept going in that direction.

Do you think Unholy would fit well on Carnival of Souls?
I've always felt this way too. Nice to know I'm not the only one.
