Great. What a genius Nietzsche was! He drew inspiration from Zoroaster as he knew the relevance and impactful teachings of Zoroaster. Arda Viraf Namag was a priest of Zoroaster who wrote a book on mignight metaphysical journey of Zoroaster and even gave 5 times prayers model with Sun movement. This shows civilizational pertinence of Zoroaster. Good to learn from you sir. Known pashto poet philosopher and Sculptor, Ghani Khan used to focus on personalities like Buddha and Zoroaster i can recall his sculpture....Smiling Buddha. Anyway thanks again. Regards. Asar ahmadzay

Nietzsche's philosophy is full of life. It gives us an entirelry different direction to see the world with. He was very wise in rejecting all these obsolete and deteriorated values which had been culminated in humans by religions for thousands of years.

I have developed a very close relationship with you. When I started reading Nietzsche's Thus spake Zarathustra, I got goosebumps, my throat was choked, tears were coming out of my eyes, it felt as if I could break stones with my mere thought.
Whatever this great man wrote, he wrote with his blood. The poetic glimpse that we get in it is an exception in itself. Well, I will not be able to express my feelings in real, but I would definitely like to say that I am a student of Philosophy Masters in India and accidentally reached your channel. Most of the books kept in your shelf are also adding beauty to my shelf, from this you can understand that there is some internal relationship between me and you. If possible, I would like to contact you personally, whether it is through mail or WhatsApp or in any other form. I have also been studying these subjects for a long time, so probably there can be some relevant discussion between us.

While Nietzsche argue that religion(s) condemn the body, this perspective can be an oversimplification. Theologically, many traditions view the body as transient, with spiritual progress often involving the transcendence of attachment to it and material desires. The aim in valuing the soul is generally to moderate, rather than condemn, the body's needs.
As a Muslim, I can confidently say that Islam places significant importance on body care, emphasizing cleanliness, diet, and health. The body is considered a trust from God, to be maintained through proper nutrition, exercise, and hygiene. The Prophet Muhammad highlighted the importance of moderation and balance in fulfilling bodily needs.
Christianity teaches that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) and should be treated with respect. Similarly, Taoism also values the body, focusing on harmony and balance between body, mind, and spirit.
The tension between bodily needs and spiritual aims can lead to diverse interpretations within each tradition. However, outright condemnation of the body is not a consistent or universal stance in these faiths. Nietzsche is critical of the body-soul dualism found in many religions, where the body is often seen as a source of sin or temptation, something to be transcended or disciplined in favor of the soul. However, in many religious traditions, it is the soul or spiritual state that is seen as becoming contaminated by sin or moral failings, rather than the body itself. The focus is on spiritual purification and aligning with divine principles, with the body being respected as a vessel that supports spiritual growth rather than being condemned.

It’s important to consider different philosophical perspectives on Nietzsche’s views to better understand various arguments and derive a balanced understanding. Nietzsche’s idea that pity and compassion make a person weak, and that one should strive to become an “Übermensch” or “superhuman” by overcoming these emotions, has been highly controversial in philosophy. Various philosophers have presented arguments both for and against this view, and here we’ll discuss the thoughts and perspectives of some renowned philosophers on Nietzsche’s ideas:
    1. Bertrand Russell - Critique of Nietzsche:
Bertrand Russell strongly opposed Nietzsche’s ideas. According to Russell, Nietzsche’s philosophy limits human life to concepts of “power” and “strength,” ignoring higher emotions like compassion, love, and cooperation. Russell believed that compassion and empathy are essential for human society’s progress, fostering brotherhood and social harmony. For Russell, these qualities form the foundation of civilization.
    2. Jean-Paul Sartre - Defense of Nietzsche:
Jean-Paul Sartre partially supported Nietzsche’s theory. Sartre’s philosophy of “existentialism” emphasizes that a person is responsible for their actions and life choices. He believed that individuals should make their own decisions and be self-reliant. Sartre thought that if compassion limits one’s autonomy, it could indeed be a burden. In his view, people should take responsibility for their lives while relying less on others.
    3. David Hume - Opposition to Nietzsche:
David Hume considered pity and compassion as essential elements of human morality. He believed that humans are naturally social and empathetic beings, and through compassion, we feel others’ pain and help them. According to Hume, without compassion, people would become self-centered, and social cohesion would erode. For Hume, Nietzsche’s view that compassion makes one weak goes against basic moral principles.
    4. Arthur Schopenhauer - A Strong Stance Against Nietzsche:
Schopenhauer praised pity and compassion as noble human qualities. He argued that individuals should go beyond self-interest and show empathy for others. Schopenhauer believed that compassion is necessary to alleviate the suffering and pain in the world. Nietzsche’s theory, which labels compassion as a weakness, could make society harsher and more indifferent, according to Schopenhauer.
    5. Ayn Rand - Support of Nietzsche’s Theory:
Ayn Rand incorporated some of Nietzsche’s ideas into her philosophy of “Objectivism.” She argued that individuals should be self-interested and prioritize their own needs. Rand believed that compassion and pity for others divert people from their goals and make them weak. In her view, if everyone took full responsibility for their lives and prioritized their own happiness, it would lead to individual strength and societal progress.
    6. Albert Camus - A Different Perspective on Nietzsche:
Albert Camus, a philosopher of “Absurdism,” partly agreed with Nietzsche’s ideas but did not completely reject compassion. Camus believed that life is inherently meaningless, but that doesn’t imply people should be indifferent. He proposed a balanced approach, suggesting that individuals accept life’s absurdity while embracing compassion as part of personal fulfillment. Like Nietzsche, Camus valued autonomy but also saw compassion as meaningful.
    Conclusion
Philosophers who opposed Nietzsche argue that compassion and pity are foundational to society, making us morally better individuals. They see Nietzsche’s theory as leading toward self-centeredness and eroding social bonds. On the other hand, philosophers who support Nietzsche’s ideas argue that prioritizing self-reliance and individuality can make people stronger and more independent.
Thus, Nietzsche’s theory is somewhat valid in emphasizing self-reliance and strength, but rejecting compassion and pity altogether might make humanity indifferent and unbalanced.
