It's very refreshing to me to find a prepping video that isn't AI. Here we have a real person using her real voice showing us her real preps instead of video snippets and photos off the internet.. Not one time did I hear you claim your preps are game-changers, lifeline, non-negotiable, I really appreciate you showing us your haul. Thank you and best of luck to you.
I have 3 cats and save the cat litter jugs to store water for flushing or for mopping the floor. I usually buy gallons of distilled water fir using in my ice machine and coffee maker. I save those gallon containers to store drinking/cooking water. For my drinking water and my cats, I will use part of what's stored in my gallon jugs to run through my ZeroWater pitcher. I try to keep at least 12, a years worth, filters in my stockpile. I've been prepping for decades and have tried the encourage others to do the same. I always give them information about you to help them learn more. Thanks for sharing with us.
@@uniquelymike you can buy single serve honey ad well. That might be a better option fir a syrup. It can also be used as a sweetener and has good medicinal properties. I keep several jars in my pantry and have some single serve "straws" for my emergency evacuation bags.
I cashed in one week of my vacation pay and used the WHOLE thing to stock up. I'll keep going until I feel a little more satisfied. I still need to buy more meat. 🥓
thank you so much for being such an inspiration. while things are a little iffy in my neck of the woods, you have given me some valuable tools. one my goals was to have a year of grocery in my cupboards. i am not there yet but i have been able to so much more for my family. all because i have confidence in my ability to provide food and nutrition for my family. i have long term, and canned goods and have even learned to buy and butcher primal cuts of meat for my freezer. thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. and yes your video was delightfully random and i love it. keep up the good works.
What an awesome video. Thank you so very much. Could you PLEASE do a product review on the oil lamp lids. I would like to know all the different oils that can burn with that and if it can be used with the chimney. I live off grid and have heard that cooking oil can be used. However I don't know if it's true.
I don't see a lot of prepping anymore glad your still doing it because I still do try to buy bulk of Amazon don't see too many sales and what I have I am still using..🌍👍🌍🙏🌍💯🌍😘🌍🍀🌍👏🌍🌟🌍
Wow Jara this was a great video. You always seems to have info and products I have forgotten, so helpful!! I love the pill kit with labels, I also saw that on Pinterest and like you has been on my to do list for about 5 years LOL. Happy Sunday and HappY Fathers Day to Mr Wicked Prepared.
Correct, constant checks and rechecks on your preps. Rotate as needed, not just food, rotate medical supplies as well. Some do not age well. I do run out of things to prep, like you, I fill with the odd things when I can find them. Nice haul.
12:58 I just picked up a box of the dried brown Minute Rice to try. It takes 10 minutes instead of 5 but I'm hoping 3 or 4 minutes will just be steaming time off heat. Also picked up a couple of boxes of couscous (Near East brand) on sale, it is likewise precooked and takes 5 minutes to set up after adding to boiling water. Cheaper in bulk, of/c. My favorite way to make it involves cooking some onions, garlic and a carrot in small dice in olive oil, then adding leftover (or canned) chicken, subbing the water with chicken stock or water with chicken bouillon, and bringing it to a boil. Then add couscous, stir and put lid on for 5 minutes. Fluff and serve as is or with plain yogurt and/or hot sauce. Easily adapted to emergency situations or camping! Even just adding to heated up Rotel tomatoes would work.
🥓Couldn't find the eggs. LOL This is a great haul with some great ideas. I think my biggest prepping problem is space. I live off grid in a tiny cabin so my space is limited. I am always looking for spots I can stash some preps.
I like hearing your rationale. I thought I would not need any freeze dried eggs because I have chickens but you made me think about what I would do in a crisis situation. And, yes I should have some from some of my meals In a jar as well as just in case too. I Trying to incorporate the freeze dried foods and j my regular cooking but sometimes I would forget. So, I put some of the ingredients in mason jars and put on my shelves in my kitchen to remind me. I reseal them with my jar sealer.
🥓🥓🥓🍳🍳🍳 Thanks Jara! I just discovered you a couple weeks ago and I really find your videos to be so valuable with so much good information and tips for prepping! I just got started on my prepper journey a couple weeks ago and took care of the generators and electronics issues for grid down,, but now I need to focus more on the food and water preps. I'd like to learn canning, but don't know if we're going to run out of time, we're so close to war now. Blessings! ❤️
Once again enjoying your Sunday video with my morning coffee!! I love the review and it always makes me feel good about my preps when I have items already!!!!
Freeze dried meal hack - Room temperature water, set on the dashboard with the windshield facing the sun 👍 I’m not going to say it’s as good as boiling water but it’s better than room temperature 😁 if you don’t have your vehicle find a large rock 🪨 that has been sunning all day and set it on it (just don’t walk to far away because the woods has been known to steal your lunch)…
My husband and I had this conversation today. Is it time to use extra cash to pay off bills more aggressively or time to add to our preps. Good video. Also - When canning ground beef, undercook it before putting it in the jar. I've found that helps with texture.
I got behind on your videos 🙀, so I'm catching up. Great haul! I love the medicine holder. And I *need some of those oil lamp converters. I'm hoping they sell the chimneys to fit. Filling the empty jugs to use for off grid laundry is a great idea. I have wasted so much detergent trying to get the jug clean enough for the recycling bin ( have to wash the trash before throwing it out)
I look forward to more videos about the Ember oven. I have it in my Save For Later list on Amazon. I joined want to make sure it’s worth the price since it’s not cheap!
🥓 🍳 The gaps Im working on are the bigger, more expensive items like a generator and the Ember oven. I’ve been looking at an Ember oven for over a year but still haven’t taking the plunge to buy one yet. Looking forward to see you cook more with it. Maybe that will be the deciding factor. Also I’ve been going through my preps, reorganizing and taking inventory
I have the Isadora Refried beans $1.36 each pouch from Walmart in my homemade mre’s. I’m in Southern California they sell the pouches at Dollar Tree but the dates aren’t always reliable. Walmart sells a Juanita’s 25oz can of Pork Chile Verde in green sauce for $6.98 single, 4 pack $21.88, 6 pack $32.82. 😊
I'm gonna watch this again. I've really love it. When you go over the pet stuff, thank you. Oh, and sometimes I give my dog. Some of the powdered eggs is scrambled ones because I in a the fresh eggs are always cooked like when extra second split it with them. The dogs can have eggs, but they have to be cooked. Is what I learned anyway. You could have changed over the last 40 years. But I don't salt and pepper it. No k said anybody was curious. Their dogs could have scrambled eggs with them. And I just put it to the side.
I buy the isadora maycoba refried beans absolutely love it. Will use it like a mayo spread on sandwiches. Walmart 1.32 usually bottom shelf!!!! I dont like the la Sierra brand at all. Stay away from greenies they are horrible for your pet.
🍳🥓 I live in MN, and our state bird is the Mosquito. They are so big they can carry you away. Any good thoughts on what to keep on hand for a grid down limited space situation to have on hand to cover the camp area and sleeping space. Other than deet sprays or citronella? Also, is there any chance you can show how full the cans from Thrife Life actually are? It would be nice to see the actual volume of different meats (ground/diced), veggies, and / or powder. Thanks for any info you're able to supply. I love your videos❣️
Rosemary lavendar peppermint lemongrass basil catnip and lemon balm can be planted to ward iff mosquitoes. Also i have found pepermint oil helps with the itch
I live in Mn where mosquitoes are awful near the lakes. I have bug spray, but you use a lot. So this year I have looked into solar bug mosquito control, I have purchased several of the chemicals ones, but I wanted to try the solar to see how they work. I will let you know in a few days!
I have a house, but it's small and I'm stocking for four adults. You can put risers under your bed to add height, then use plastic under bed storage bins to put dry goods under the bed. Do you have a bookshelf filled with books? Pull your books forward, you can store canned food behind the books unseen. You can hang shoe organizers over doors or in the closet and fill with mixes, pouches of potatoes, rice, etc. if you have space on top of your kitchen cabinets, get decorative boxes or baskets and fill with long term items you wont need to access often. Look around, I bet you will find lots of places you can strategically store items.
@@nancywolf3786 Thank you, I have learned a few things over the years, lol. I don't have babies, but we do store baby wipes, great for quick refreshers on hot days and if the power goes out, better than no bath. I use an over the door hanger for wipes, compressed towels, soaps, etc...
I have found true lon in packets. It is just crystalized lemon. No sugar. It's ok but a little puckering😂. Bought some cold brew tea bags to try out for flavor.
I have the same problem with aspartame. Sucralose upsets my stomach. I have been thinking of trying the plain Kool-Aid packets but I keep forgetting to look for them.

I would add Untapped brand single serve maple syrup packets for pancakes.
They're wicked expensive!
Individual packets of jam or honey . If warmed they spread easily. Roll up a PB&J Sammy for protein.

The glass top for the lamp are at thrift stores all the time 2 or $3
And canned heat is significantly less at restaurant suppliers
Still working on everything & rotating, helping the daughter and grandchildren.
