      Thanks for watching, Melissa! It was a fun, quick way to see to London. Highly recommended for those that only have a day in the city!

    What beautiful weather you had for your tour! We do our food shopping in M&S, it’s really lovely quality, everything really fresh and so nicely presented. Those custard creams are my husbands favourite! I hope you liked them 🙂

    • @mustseeadventures
      @mustseeadventures  Месяц назад

      Yes, we were very fortunate with the weather. A theme for this entire trip! We seriously loved M&S, and made a visit to another one at the train station later in the trip!
      The desserts were lovely and I just loved the colors and offerings in the store. The custard creams were fantastic! We kept snacking on them throughout the day. What a bargain too.
      Thanks for watching!

    I commented last video about our trip last year and thought that the Blackbird looked very familiar. Our hotel was just around the other side of the Earls Court tube station!

    • @mustseeadventures
      @mustseeadventures  Месяц назад

      Ohh, that’s awesome! The hotel we stayed at was right there on the corner next to the blackbird.. I really enjoyed the atmosphere there, and would have liked to try dinner as well, but we didn’t have much time there. What did you think of that location? We really enjoyed the neighborhood.

      Our first visit to London 23 years ago we stayed in the Covent Garden area. That is right in the middle of most of central London. However it is very busy, noisy and not easy to get some quiet.
      The Earls Court area seemed a little more calm. Our hotel, K+K Hotel George had a wonderful secluded garden that was very peaceful. It was nice to have a place to relax after the hustle and bustle of the city. However it was a 25 minute tube ride to get to central London. On the positive side, Earls Court tube station has 2 lines so it is easy to get to various places easily.

    Another great episode! Too bad about the lost footage, but at least you still had your Westminster Abbey clips. Hands down, best Abbey I've ever seen.

    1st vlog to notice that Oliver Cromwell is positioned right in front of the bust of Charles I, so many people miss that or have no idea what it means. For those that don't Cromwell was in charge of the Roundheads, who became Lead of the Commonwealth after Charles I was beheaded.

      It really was amazing. Dave was more than our driver, he shared so many facts, and I think he really enjoyed our energy and excitement of being in London, which I think made him enjoy spending time with us on the tour. I can't recommend enough!

    I love London! I was lucky to spend 24hrs there in 2016 and fell in love with the city. My biggest regret is not going inside the original Hard Rock Cafe. I did stop for a selfie right in front of it but I had to hustle back to my hotel to catch the shuttle to the airport. As a huge fan of all things Hard Rock I guess I’ll have to Get Back (see what I did there?). Great video, London is awesome and I feel your pain with the sleep issue on planes. No bueno!

      @mustseeadventures  Месяц назад +2

      Love the Beatles reference in the comment. Yeah, one day is just not enough for such a large and beautiful city like London. Totally need a week or maybe two! You definitely need to get back to the Hard Rock as big of a fun as you are and experience it! Thanks for watching!

      Glad to hear from another Beatles fan. Abbey Road was super cool. Felt a little rushed, and would have liked to spend some more time there, and in London in general as you mentioned. Next time I'd like to do a bigger UK trip and make our way to Liverpool as well. Thank you for watching, I really appreciate it!

    For the record, you were in both the city of London and the city of Westminster. What you call the financial area is the city of London, the square mile. Parliament is in Westminster. The king needs permission to enter the city of London.

      You can recognise the boundaries for the City of London. As they are marked by statues of Dragons. Governed by the City Of London Corporation. Headed by the Lord Mayor currently Michael Mainelli.
      The population of the City is less than 10,000 people.
      The Corporation has existed since before the UK parliament. They have a person called The Remembrancer. Currently Paul Wright. Who's job is to sit in parliament and report back to the City any upcoming legislation. That might affect the Corporation's running of the City.
      The City of Westminster and the other 30 Boroughs that are not City. Are governed by the Greater London Authority and the Mayor Of London currently Sadiq Khan.
      In the UK City Status is an honour granted to a town by the reigning Monarch. Size and population have no relevance. City Status can also be lost. As has happened to the former City of Rochester in Kent.

    My first time in London we had the classic lunch downstairs. It was just before lunch when we came in so the pub itself was empty. when we came back up after eating the pub was shoulder to shoulder busy with people standing and drinking pints. mind you this was right near the houses of parliament so these were govt workers. No one eating, just pounding pints for lunch. A fine country.

      Oh, I can certainly believe that! We really enjoyed our one day, and are already thinking of how to get back and spend more time in London, and the more of the U.K. We found it very lovely.

    Lovely to find your podcast Scott after listening to BOG podcast. That looks like a great tour. As a UK local it's funny to see what you choose from M&S. The Pub you went too in the evening is part of a large chain and the food tends to be more basic. If you're ever back over in London and have a bit more time then there's better fish and chips elsewhere. Looking forward to the rest of your trip vlog.

      Thanks for following along on our journey. Yeah, our dinner option may not had been the best choice, but we needed something quick and close by so we could get some rest. We definitely are planning a return trip and a much longer one at that. We loved our (brief) time in the UK! I wish we had an M&S here!

    Never eat breakfast at a pub, nor fish& chips or a steak. (The 3 'no-nos'). Next time you go to London, try not to eat at a pub - Not the best food. Just easy food, if you have been drinking.

    With a Viator tour can you tip by credit card or would it be cash only?

    • @mustseeadventures
      @mustseeadventures  Месяц назад

      We prepaid our tour, so there was not a way to leave a gratuity via credit card that we were aware of. We had some British pounds with us that we left for our driver/tour guide.
