      @@Imachowderhead It was to the right of the original main entrance, parallel to the trolley tracks and MacArthur Blvd. If you're familiar with the park today, the coaster entrance was right beside Candy Corner, and the station and near turns were pretty much where the pottery yurts (not the gallery but the workshops) are today. The first out-and-back extended across the creek just beside the still-standing old trolley trestle, dipping into the valley to make good use of the terrain, and the second circuit's turnaround was on the near side of the creek.
      This documentary on the park might help, and besides really covers the history and significance of the park: ruclips.net/video/LatpnwBBxEs/видео.html

    Hooray!!! After over 55 years, I can take a ride on my roller coaster again. I started working on the Coastal Dips at Glen Echo for the 67-68 seasons. This is a pretty good version of the ride. I miss the park, and I operated most of them rides then when the other guys were too drugged or drunk to show up. Kudos to those who did the computer work for this video. Oh 👍, I still have my employee badge.. S. Garner

    Thinking about coasters in Maryland, I'm wondering what Miller's Giant Coaster (AKA Wild One) that operated from 1917 to the early 1930s would look like. The current version is a 1932 Schmeck as far as I'm concerned knowing that he basically did the 1930s equivilant of RMCing Miller's coaster. I imagine it was a lot tamer since that was before Miller patented upstop wheels (which the current version definately has).

    • @RaptorAlex
      @RaptorAlex 4 года назад +1

      Cyclone is such a fun ride. I'd do it, but I try to only make coasters that are no longer around since POVs are rare or don't exist. People can still ride Cyclone and see plenty of videos of it.

      @@Mattman0627 as far as I can remember, the first hill had a steeper drop. The tunnel was changed, there were four hills after the turnaround by the lake. The coaster also went faster. I rode this many times and had the track memorized. The first time that I saw it after the change, I noticed from across the park, the coaster going slower as it made the turn by the lake. I was surprised until I actually rode it and could see the changes. The entire pattern was similar, just not as grand.
