I love this Philip! Yoshi was a great actor. In fact, he was one of my favorites. He was very touchable, much like Jesus in many ways. I personally wish that Yoshi was still in the show.
Thank you for this deep dive on Phillip: Yoshi played him masterfully and his acceptance of Matthew endeared him to many of us who can see ourselves in Matthew as an welcomed outsider in how we've navigated our world. Who among us has never felt out of place or has been treated in a barely tolerated manner. So relatable. He brought a warmth to the role and to the disciples that had me paying attention to the nuances of how they could have related to one another before they transformed into family. There were many things to iron out and he highlighted the judgmental behavior among them. He even shone light on the pettiness that needed to be corrected, long before Jesus spoke to members on their brokenness. I don't care about the why. Yoshi leaving the show changed the dynamics of the key players. Reza's Phillip was definitely written different and he's playing man more pensive and quiet. I can still root for Reza and I love and miss Yoshi's work and contribution to The Chosen. I hope Dallas the other writers, give Reza some meatier opportunities to showcase his range. Still see Phillip as key to the big picture and thank you again for sharing just how important he has been for the success of The Chosen and to pulling the disciples together in a more uniform manner. He broke up the clusters and he went he came into the group he pushed for interaction and identifying goals and dream. People stood just a little taller.
I remember how Yoshi was my favorite character after Jonathan Roumie!!! No chance he could ever come back, is there? I do miss him. I pray he comes to know the LORD!!! I WISH HIM AND HIS FAMILY ALL THE BEST!!! Shalom Shalom!!!
After reading all the comments, it's great to see that I am not the only one who thinks the switch was not the best move that Dallas has made with the cast of characters in the Chosen. Even though I don't like it, I acknowledge that Dallas is the one calling the shots and he knows what is best for The Chosen.
I also miss Yoshi! Thank God we had him for 2 seasons! He was brilliant! Who knows what would've been different in the Chosen. He and Matthew were a great team and helping the women learn scripture as well!!!❤
Season 2 Phillip confident funny caring, season 3 dealing with failure and doubt in himself, season 4 teaches others to open fruit... rarely do characters fall that hard.
Not to disparage Reza as the current Philip, but I enjoyed Philip's character and demeanor in the pre- Season 4 episodes. I love how patient he was in talking with Matthew. He was compassionate, as you said. And later on a little testy with the injured toe. lol
10:48 interesting observation, Brandon. I've always picked up on Simon Peter as the one who always prays, but he always seems to rush through them. I didn't catch him not "keeping up" with the recitation of that Ezekiel passage. 🔍
Philip was 1 of my main favs. He seemed so comfortable, just natural, really. But, I do get it, something happened. We don't know what, but we might like the new Phillip, too.🤷🏼♀️🙏🏻
When Philip mentions the prophecy, Simon shakes his head because he knows exactly, right away, where this is going and is not liking that Philip is going in that direction because he just made fun of Matthew looking for wood in the ravine. Once he joins in with reciting the Scripture, he's all into it and knew what it was all along.
Phillip is great! I still wish they would show the baptism of Jesus. Maybe Phillip can have a flashback or a dream since he saw it? And this could happen after the crucifixion, but before the resurrection, during that time of pain and uncertainty. Just wishing ☺
Does anyone know why Yoshi left The Chosen? He definitely had more charisma than the actor who replaced him. He was full of character and felt so much a part of the group and seemed to get along with all the other characters.
Thanks for the scripture references. I thought it was just Phillip being his hippie self. He’s not the stereotypical hippie with a philosophy that peace and love are the only things that matter; he’s talking about higher consciousness. I hope Matthew gets it!
Yoshi was brilliant but let’s give Reza a chance. He hasn’t had any major lines so far. I’m sure it will work out. Dallas knows exactly what he s doing with the show and hasn’t gone wrong yet ❤️🤗
“AM” is a present reality in every moment. No past, no future. All were made One IN Jesus Christ at the Cross. Now Faith (Christ’s Faith) IS…; today IS the day of Salvation. In every moment. I AM.
Yoshi who played Phillip did an awesome job. I surely missed him. Very talented actor 👏🏽
I love this Philip! Yoshi was a great actor. In fact, he was one of my favorites. He was very touchable, much like Jesus in many ways. I personally wish that Yoshi was still in the show.
I personally thought the opposite. Instantly showing up seemingly prideful and a know it all. It bothered me
@@sk818factory5😳 wow
I miss him SO much! He was one of my very favorite disciples!
So miss Yoshi as Philip. I thought he made such a perfect Philip. And I enjoyed all his scenes
Phillip showed compassion from his heart. Loved this Phillip
Yoshi gave Phillip lots of personality

Loved Yoshi as Phillip! It was a huge loss when he left! 😢😢😢
I don't blame Philip for not sharing his message for Jesus. I enjoyed this interaction. 😊
Completely miss Yoshi. His personality was perfect.

2:41 I think they just made Phillip acting mysterious to add comedy to the scene. 😄
I loved him was sorry to see him leave.
I always thought that Philip was testing and kind of playing with them which is why he said what he did. I miss Yoshi.
For the Romans to go away, for a pretty wife someday. I ate a fattened goose once, I'd love that again...lol. Love those lines
Thank you so much for your insightful videos. I loved looking at Philip through the confidence scale lens.
brother your doing a great job with these videos! keep up the amazing work, i appreciate the effort you put into these!
I love Yoshi . He was so awesome. I will miss him. Great video.
Great scene. Love Phillips humor and love Andrew

I loved the “ creepy John “ title 😂
I wish Yoshi did NoT leave. I love him as Phillip 😢❤👍💯🫂🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
He cldnt tell them because he wasn't sure that Jesus wld accept him.
I LOVE the “creepy John“ comments🤣
I'm with Simon; if you eat bugs, you're creepy. Great, but creepy. 🤣🤣🤣
Eating Chocolate covered grasshoppers is considered a delicacy in some culture...just saying.
John the Baptist---exactly, Brandon! :-) I imagine that people would have thought him strange!
Does anyone know why Yoshi left The Chosen? He definitely had more charisma than the actor who replaced him. He was full of character and felt so much a part of the group and seemed to get along with all the other characters.
I still don't understand why they fired Yoshi. Can someone explain???
No one really knows
Sleepers/awake Isa 9:2; 5:20 John 3:19-20 Eph 5:14

Matthew doesn’t get it! Phillip speaks in metaphors, and Matthew needs something literal. Poor Matthew!
Great deep dive
I also loved this Philip he was the best.
Bring back Yoshi!!!
He couldn't tell them because1: hes Phillip. 2: John wanted Jesus to ask him to follow.
Hello Brandon 👋
Wish he had stayed but understand why. The new phillip seems like background only
Yoshi was brilliant but let’s give Reza a chance. He hasn’t had any major lines so far. I’m sure it will work out. Dallas knows exactly what he s doing with the show and hasn’t gone wrong yet ❤️🤗
Maybe it’s just Phillip’s sense of humor to not share his reason for wanting to see Jesus.
Hello Brandon
He abut eating a new bug???😂
Phillip didnt tell his message I think because it wasn't not for them but personnel to John an Jesus. Maybe just a thought
They are definitely different times .... Of for
Phillip messing with them. Maybe it was personal not to tell
“AM” is a present reality in every moment. No past, no future. All were made One IN Jesus Christ at the Cross.
Now Faith (Christ’s Faith) IS…; today IS the day of Salvation. In every moment. I AM.
This is a more entertaining introduction to Philip. It's an audience draw.
Using your logic too much. It was just entertaining
