    every time when i try to use cref in a vary region section I have an error "SyntaxError: Unexpected token 'I', "Internal S"... is not valid JSON" and just can't use it. does anyone have the same problem?

    Why doesn’t my midjourny show the character reference button? I’m struggling to keep anything consistent once I’ve created a photo,

      I'm not sure sorry mate. You may need to use the parameters as a work around

  • @Euds
    @Euds Месяц назад +1

    Thanks for the video, but... adding --[my parameter] doesn't work in Vary Region. It gives an error ❌ Submission Error!
    SyntaxError: Unexpected token 'I', “Internal S”... is not valid JSON

    • @WadeMcMaster
      @WadeMcMaster  Месяц назад +1

      That's odd, there's no errors in the code value at all?

      @@WadeMcMaster I figured it out!) I should have put --bird, not a shortcut, but --cref and a link to the image here)) But tnx for you reply)

    Does this work with anime style characters?

    • @WadeMcMaster
      @WadeMcMaster  3 месяца назад

      I've seen other people use it that way, but I personally haven't tested it myself.

    Hey thanks! I will add another tip. On the website, you can drag and drop the image from the gallery to the prompt box, even without using the style/image button.

    I don't even know what to say!
    Everything I needed to know and learn about Midjourney, I found on this channel.
    I am Brazilian and until now, I haven't found videos with such complete and consistent information as yours here in Brazil.
    Thank you very much for sharing this vast knowledge!

      Simply telling me that is really awesome. The question of "is this video any good?" Is constant for creators. So thank you so much for the positive feedback! :)

    General issues you can get when using cref:
    1, The picture generated has a tendency to focus A LOT more on the face, which can make it difficult for the background to show. It would also lower your prompt coherence (prompt for five characters but only get two or three, prompt for full body but get only upper torso, prompt for torso but get headshot, body position would also be affected by this).
    2, cref can add color bleed into your image during pan/zoom/regional var/editing mode especially if you highlight a much larger area than just the area needed for the face.
    3, Pictures with animals are hit and miss. Sometimes, the character face will be applied on the animal, and animal features are shown on the character.
    There are many ways to fix these problems but they all come at the cost of going through more complicated workflow.

    • @WadeMcMaster

      Nice insight mate! I do think added complexity is a natural step if you want more control, but otherwise I do help these things are improved over time

    I may be late to the game, but have you tried the "change AR" settings in the website? You can set it to change based upon start/center/end, then choose the new AR, and it shows you how the current image will be placed in the new AR frame. That is AMAZING!

    • @Cimarb

      (and yes, I know this is unrelated to the video, but I was playing around with the consistent character stuff when I ran across this AR setting, so here we are 😂)
