Bruce Cockburn. A very rare Canadian treasure! I met in Vancouver. A warm, soft spoken human being. We shook hands and he signed his newest album, God Bless Brendon. And you know you are in rare company when he plays live. I have seen Bruce in concert many times. And I always come away with a sense of awe and joy!
Bruce as an environmentalist, human & musician defies description --- best I am able to muster is "well beyond bloody brilliant" ... Thankyou q & Bruce, Canadians all !!!
one of the last living musical legends.......hes done it so humbly too, which makes him even more amazing.......but it doesnt hurt he can play like a beast! and write poetic lyrics!!!!

I am very lucky man, back when I was a kid ,I had n older brother who was very into music ,and the one thing he allowed me, was I could play his records,I spent hours and hours listening and studying album covers, and one of them was Bruce Cockburn,I just loved his guitar playing,I first got to see him at the agora center at Lakehead University in1978,he was basically driving across Canada playing 1 man shows ,these were around the begining or a few years into his career, and have seen him several times over the decades......
CBC Stay as you are.......a most beautiful, incredible platform for teaching and encouraging the younger generations what music has given us over the years. Respect xx
What a cool guy. A friend of mine covered If I Had a Rocket Launcher (search that + Travis Brunetti) and that was the first I heard of him. Props to the interviewer as well, very well done!
I've listened to Bruce Cockburn for such a long time and enjoyed him and seen him live. It's hard to see him aging, because I want him to be around forever! Such wonderful amazing music and his guitar playing is so good; hopefully, he still uses Linda Manzer's guitars, they always sound beautiful. His voice reminds me of my dad's and I hear that when he sings. We're both Canadian and it just brings back so many good memories when I hear his music. Thanks Bruce, keep making music! (From Sandi)

I hadn't been a Christian very long and this bloke I met said there's a song I'd like you to hear from a Christian musician. I think you'd like it. He sat me down, after he fed me, and said " This is a Canadian guy called Bruce Cockburn, let me know what you think." I listened as the vinyl crackled and the light hissing oscillated through the opening riff! The room filled with clear crisp notes from an acoustic guitar and the strained voice of Bruce Cockburn singing "here comes the helicopter" captured my imagination like headlights capture a rabbit. my ears tuned in to the lyrics and I was captivated. This man had read some of my poetry and knew I saw myself as a lyricist; he thought I would like Bruces' work. He was right. Each and every word of that song had an automatic impact upon the newfound conscience I had developed since becoming a Christian. I listened again and this time I put music and song together. Awesome stuff, I was hooked. I have pretty much all of Bruces' albums and have managed to see him twice in England The last time I saw him I had the real pleasure of meeting him afterwards and he had a couple of selfies with him. Such a beautiful Human being who has had an impact on me through his music. Long may it continue! Thanks for the interview.
Met Bruce 2019...short talk etc and pic...nice fella hes 74 he had a cane ..hope hes ok!Bruce doesn't always play what his audiences want to hear lol..when I saw him I'm glad he wouldn't sing ,launcher..he did sing Lions..he didnt play lovers glad for that great songs but he has so much fun more material worth hearing..

Oh oh, how I wish I could speak/understand the english language a little better. But if I would have a single wish for free. I think I would really like to play the guitar the way Bruce Cockburn can do it. He is one of my heroes since the early 80s.
