- It's never a dull moment for EA players- from Apex Legends to Madden 25 to sims 3 and sims 4, players are being banned left and right with little explanation. I suspect it could be a hack- but it's hard to say. Here are the reports on the forums and what to do if you account has been banned or suspended.

When it comes to securing accounts I cannot emphasize the importance of using two factor authentication when the option is available. A password is just a random string of numbers, letters, and symbols - with enough effort anyone can eventually find the right combination, nevermind if your password leaks. Two factor authentication ties it to your phone number, email, or app on your phone, the first and third of these options make it much harder for just anyone to hack your account because it is tied to a device rather than an account. It is one of the best security options even for the non-technology savvy.
yup that was one of the top tips I showed. absolutely is a good idea!
The longer the password is the harder it is to brute force. Don't need phones that can be cloned or hacked into with multiple points of vulnerability to be tied to my accounts, and if lost will be locked out. Phones actually make security harder.
I have had this on my account and my daughters for a long time. I don't trust anyone to hack into our accounts. I feel bad for those users.
So data miners who managed to get my account data also have my phone number and can sell this to scam call centers thazs actuslly what happened to me with the meta data leak i walways was verry catefull with giving my number away but when i hot a quest it wantet 2 factor for all the transaction stuff what happened was my number being sold and now i get these scam mesages
Of hey we have new number and hey are you xyz and oh here we have job pffer xor you....i was not looking thats alO why i still use land line xor most things my phone number is for my friends
AMEN!!!!
“We would hate to make players start over”
EA is maybe the most incompetent company on the planet
I do think most likely case is some sort of hack or phishing, but perm bans even if so doesn't make sense- and I don't like how there's no communication
@@SimmerErin the lack of communication says to me that they were really unprepared for this.
You would think that with as many live services games as EA has on their roster, their tech team and cybersecurity protocols would be established. Including the PR side of things
A company this size, should have prepared statements and action plans for hacking events of any size
The understatement of the year.
@@AlexP-dz7ew agreed
Imagine getting banned and being unable to play your game you spent over $1K on
that'd be very upsetting. I have not spent near that and I'd still be upset regardless
I’ve spent that much. I would demand my money back.
I'm 16 so idk if I can but I'm prepared to go to court if I get banned
@@thischannelisdead9 Court ain't free, son.
@@thischannelisdead9you could try but EA is a HUGE wealthy corporation with a team of attorneys. Also when you create an EA account you agree to Terms of Service and it is in the TOS that they can ban you at any time.
If this is a hack then I hope that EA unban all the affected accounts. That being said, it’s EA…
oh yeah. they def need to... idk this is a mess
I genuinely believe this is not a hack. This is a way EA to make more money.
Of course they wouldn’t ban the accounts with hundred games Ban accounts with two or three games ! Now they (the player ) has to rebuy everything that they’ve already bought because they’re losing money and team members
a class action lawsuit against EA will be happening soon I promise you cus EA has so many issues they are better off selling their company instead of just franchises!
They shouldn’t be allowed to ban you from a game you’ve paid for. Ban people from commenting or using the gallery, online portions etc. but you have purchased the product so you own it for life. The gameplay should ALWAYS be accessible. We should also be able to play it without internet access but that’s another conversation.
the scary thing is, this is a power devs get with live service models: it's kind of like renting the game instead of owning it in a way
Yea I think it's in the terms and agreements clause but tbh not many ppl read it.
You no longer own these games unless you buy physical copies
When you "buy" a game code / online, you are actually renting a license to play the game.
@@SoldiersOfTheMind But unless your physical copy doesn't require the internet to activate and/or play... you still don't own it.
Wait. Can we not play Sims 4 with no internet?
Innocent simmers are getting banned cause of hackers.
Reminds me of identity theives committing a crime in your name and you getting arrested for it.
apex legends and madden 24 too, maybe more games as well.
I cannot yet say for sure if it's hacking but it's good to be cautious and aware of the possibility
Course this wouldn't even be a "thing" if we had full control over our games, like in the early days of gaming 🙄
Precisely why we don’t. Companies don’t want us having too much power.
And then they won't be able to advertise to you to get more of your cash, just to play a game 😂
That would mean finding and buying physical copies from valid sources, or possibly not finding them, and no more online content like cc or the gallery.
glad your'e having fun with the challenge
We indeed were less dependant on companies or even on having to have an internet connection. I can remember the time I just had to shove a CD in de computer and off we'd go to Sims-land. No login required. No internet needed. Just buy the disc and have fun.
I remember that origin use to have 24/7 chat with real people. They solved a block on my account on 2020, because it was hacked but it was quickly solved by the person i spoke to
that makes a big difference. They truly need to shore up both their QA and tech teams..
Many many years ago, they had customer support that actually helped me merge two of my accounts because I had a dead email address and wanted to access games if bought previously
They USED to be an actually decent company
There is chat but first you have to go find the holy grail then fight through a maze full of dragons to find it on their website😑 I've managed to trigger a link to it by typing in I want a refund but last time I tried that didn't work.
If you manage to get in contact with ea customer service they usually provide shit help, defaulting to robotic responses of “welp, I tried my best and can’t help you”
@@honinakecheta601 Interesting. I wonder why they used to be better just four years ago (just to be clear, this isn't a dig at the customer service reps- having known people who have worked in similar jobs, I can pretty much guarantee they're just saying what they've been told to say- but rather at EA).
So they can just revoke your access to a game you paid for? That’s 🦆ed
technically yes.
Yes, we dont own the game, instead we've collectively paid millions to rent The Sims 4. I personally started boycotting since 2023. I can clearly see how scammy the company is, and how much they do not care about their players.
If you live in the EU, there's an initiative looking to fix that. It's essentially asking for a ban/restriction on games as a service. The more signatures toward the initiative, the better its chances of becoming law there. And laws there that affect digital products tend to affect the digital products everywhere.
@@hauntedshadowslegacy2826Also post this as a regular comment, we still need a lot of votes
So, constantly forgetting my password is actually a blessing in disguise. 😅
🤣 I can relate to that...
@@SimmerErin, I never write things down. 😂
Haha, ahh yes so relatable.
Mine are always connected to my google account. It's the only way for me to know passwords. Since I use google chrome browser, the google password manager is where I can view the password I'm looking for. It helps if I forget a password. Especially, because I like using the same one for different sites. But they're not at all weak, so I don't get this situation. But some sites I've had to start using like my favorite fandom pairings to come up with new passwords. It's annoying. :(
@@lizzypeer8709 google is not as secure as you might think it is. do not tie all your passwords in one place thats on cloud.
Now EA is going all the way to ruining their product 😂 by actually banning the customers…
One more reason to be glad of fully offline play. It could be a hack but then why aren't the bannings far more widespread? Surely if you're hacking and banning folks as part of it, you'd cause as much damage as possible. If it's not that, my guess is it's EA's automated algorithms misinterpreting accounts and banning them. The evidence of automation is there with the loop of automated responses if you try and appeal. I'm fairly sure I've heard of this happening before (maybe not EA) but can't quite recall the details. Someone else might remember as I don't have time to search right now.
hard to say. it would also depend on what the hack was targeting . You're correct it could also be some strange mismanagement on EA's part. it's puzzling but they do indeed need to get on top of this no doubt
More than likely it was a phishing scam-especially people saying they clicked a link and it took them to a looping page with an error. People, check the email address that sent the email. It’s likely NOT EA and you likely just gave someone access to your account and that’s why you can’t log in…
if there was a an email with a link involved yes that certainly sounds like a phishing scam. Not sure how many people that happened to. I didn't see those reports, hard to say if there is one or multiple things going on here
And obviously if you DID click that, go and change your password and turn on login verification if you haven't already IMMEDIATELY (using either your phone number or a different email address than the one you clicked the link on for the latter, of course).
im one of the ppl wh got banned and i havent use my account in over a year. My account shows no trace of being used by any one else it came so out of the blue i thought the email telling me i was banned was a scam when i first saw it.
If the EA app really is this unstable, think about how unsecure it is with all of our credit card info. (when we buy new packs) It makes me very uncomfortable knowing that such an unstable software has little protections against hackers...or glitches. I think glitches might be just as bad as the hackers.
hard to say, but both are certainly concerning
Thank you for the heads up 💯
absolutely! want people to stay safe as possible
I suspect it is that players got hacked. This morning several people were talking about it on Reddit. Not all of them were Sims players (as Madden players were also impacted as well as several other games that I'd never heard of which were also EA games), and it was both PC/Mac and Console players.
Some of the people in the Reddit messages said they had gotten messages from EA that their "ban" had been lifted. (They were still mad as hell they had been banned in the first place, but happy they could play again.)
glad at least some of them have been lifted
'and yup, it's Apex players as well
@@SimmerErin With as many people complaining, I suspect EA is going to be doing some investigating to lift more. Eegad, I'm glad I don't have to be on *that* team! Imagine the pressure to do as many as fast as possible!
If I got banned, I would've just assumed it was because of the depraved mods I use...
I can't speak to that, I know people play with WW fine, but beyond that
Thing is, EA shouldn't be able to know what mods we use. If they do, that's an issue in and of itself. They need to keep their grubby little hands away from my Wicked Whims. They have no business knowing what I watch my sims do. I ain't uploading stuff to the gallery, so it affects nobody but me.
@@hauntedshadowslegacy2826 I don't see evidence that ww would cause this. there are some more extreme mods that I could see doing so
Sounds like an excellent way to get sued.
only if it remained permanent and it was a substantial# of bans with no reason. not saying it's good or right, so would be a legally difficult challenge
@@SimmerErin Have they fixed the issue yet?
change your pw and turn on two factor login! that way if someone does get your pw theyll need your phone to get in. i did get a text from ea sending my two factor code when i was NOT trying to login. so it really is important to do
good advice
Every once in awhile someone tries my Xbox account. It's so annoying
This honestly sounds like a hacker rather than EA but I know the community argument; it's EA so this is 1,000% EA doing this. Going along with this; why now? Even if we're talking specifically Sims players. 2021 & 2022? News to me. I know GTA V has major issues with hacking the online portion. One reason I'm concerned about Rene being online. There are some websites that actually force password changes every six months. Though I doubt that would go well if EA did this.
even if it is EA, it seems random and across games.. so I'd suspect some strange automated glitch if it wasn't hacking
still I do hope they make a statement & that there is some resolution
and yes, that came to my mind too....
Hackers getting people banned isn't new. But I'm hoping EA is aware and able to fix the problem. I was hacked before, but I figured out how to reset my security questions. I put 2 factor authorization on my account after that.
What's odd is that they just issued perma bans? They usually have temp ones and only perma for repeat offenses?
I have noticed some weirdness going on with their login. I usually keep EA app open for days, but recently it seems to be "expiring" and there's a popup asking for account with no option for google integration. I can just close it and ignore it but it never did before a couple weeks ago. Not sure if they changed something and caused the bans or if the changes caused the situation that was the reason for the bans...
yes I agree I do find that odd. I am unsure if everyone was getting perma bans but it's strange. I can't really put everything together quite to know what happened
not sure. My EA App will sometimes open on its own, which I have also found odd
Interestingly, this seems to be happening for GTA players as well since they implemented battle eye about a week ago. My friend was banned and there is no way he would ever mod or do anything to violate the the community guidelines. Something strange is going on here.
very concerning. especially it happening so close together.
I think Rockstar was having trouble with DDoS attacks since the Battleye stuff, I've seen a lot of connectivity issues with RDR2 so hacking is pretty likely I think. While I don't agree with the DDoS, I don't agree with removing Linux compatibility either, so I see why people are pissed
I mean this is somehow a normal thing.
Woke up to being randomly banned off tinder. When you appeal you are instantly sent an email saying bans are permanent and cannot be disputed. This is what happens when you let A.I. run your site.
it's not normal for every site. On RUclips, etc
But it is a problem. I understand some automation but appeals really shouldn't be automated.
That happened to me 20 minutes after opening a Tinder account. I didn't even have time to swipe right on anyone. Never used it before and didn't post anything against the ToS.
Thanks for the heads up.
no problem!
Oo time to change my password ❤❤
YUP I need to do so now too
IT keeps getting worse and worse for EA. 😮
I just changed my password. If I was banned from playing sims I'd have a mega meltdown. Im autistic and the sims is my special interest. I have played the sims every day for over a decade.
I really hope you aren't! Good move to be proactive.
@SimmerErin yeah hopefully that's enough. I changed it on my phone but can't access ea on my computer because my wifi was knocked out because of the hurricane. I just have to wait and see 😅

How do you abuse game features in Sims4? It barely has any gameplay.
those are some of the general terms of service- for all and any of their games
Their full terms of service:
www.ea.com/legal/user-agreement
They can ban you from playing the games you bought with your own money? WTF?
that's the downside (one) of a live service model
@@SimmerErin That's just... crazy. Maybe I've been oblivious all this time but in my mind, it's still my physical CD that I bought off the store and I get to play whenever and offline... except now they made it easier with digital purchases. I guess I didn't know about us not owning the game we purchase anymore.
I got all packs from TS2 to TS4 and now I'm worried this ban mistake could happen to me too... they'd rip off thousands of dollars worth of DLCs.
Banning players in a time we’re all one bad day with them from sailing the seven seas seems like a monumentally *dumb* idea. Give your customers even more reason to stop buying your stuff why don’t you?
the latter can get you banned too
@@SimmerErinI mean yeah but we can just make a new account to use the gallery. Assuming they don't block networks specifically.
This makes me scared, I have spent so much money on this stupid game and I want to continue playing it, I guess this is what I get for 8 year old me buying the Sims 3 on Origin and continuing that with the Sims 4
sadly enough, even if you buy sims 3 on cd you still have to install and run it through the EA app :( it cannot be stored locally or run without it these days.
@@sarasmedberg8203 I did buy it locally, I meant that I should've bought it on steam I guess
it's a big downside to live service models.
Some of us in Sims groups and reddit have figured out if we download our data it shows our log ins from random places all over the world and we're pretty sure this is why we're getting g banned. Some people that live in the states have been logged into places in India and Russia. One guy that play star wars says he got banned and discovered he was logged in in India and then got banned right after the log in.
that's some very interesting information, thank you
Thanks for the video Erin. Just logged in to Sims 4 and all appears to be in order. I'm not on the EA app but my game is linked. Wouldn't be surprised if EA was hacked, seems as though their senior leadership positions are filled with clueless bean-counters who are focused on matters of the least importance
it very well could have been yes. Obviously I don't know for sure, but it's good to be safe as possible
Thanks for the heads up, I changed my password, I would be devastated to lose the sims 4, as cheesy as that sounds, I have adhd and this is my special interest
not cheesy at all. I understand
EA: Ohhh no…! You got banned? Welp. Guess you gotta buy all those games again. Our system never makes mistakes.
actually you couldn't not with the same account, if the account was banned
My cousin got banned, he’s an EA/Sims sympathizer. (he thinks nothing is wrong with My Wedding Stories & that we overdramatize My First Pet Stuff.) He called me very upset. He’s still trying to fix it.
did he get banned the last few days?
@@SimmerErin he did & luckily he was able to get his account back. He doesn’t use mods & rarely cheats.
@@ajharris78 glad it got resolved at least
sims cheats shouldn't be a concern here. they are concerned with cheating for something in a competition (e-sports)
Thank you for the heads up! I turned on 2 part authentication.
yep! good idea

Wow! Being banned for NO known reason now huh?? Sounds crazy. Could it be some kind of a glitch or
Some kind of a mess up due to the update from lsst week?? Maybe or maybe NOT. But still sounds crazy either way. I have YET to get one and I HOPE I DON'T get one either.
But thanks for the post. N' NOW I will keep this in mind. I play on console too btw but will still keep an eye out for this. Again Thank you and take care. 👍✌
either an automated glitch or a hack I'd presume.
There should be a law that requires a company to tell you exactly why you were banned and at least a screenshot of the evidence as proof of what caused them to make their decision. Just my two cents.
I agree that banning without explanation isn;t acceptable
I could suggest to check your mail adress and check this site. (have i been pwned?)
Useful if there were leaks or some breaches so you can check if something else in danger. Then changing password, authentication or security mail adress. The phone is sometimes not a good idea I have had problem with google with the phone authentication long ago when my old phone number was lost and could not change or log in to my mail adress.
good advice
I had two-factor and I was still good logging in, but yk I updated it anyway. EA already lost a bunch of my content repeatedly and that was them, I don’t want to deal with hackers. I’m good.
yeah, always good to be safe
Using longer phrases as your password instead of doing the bare minimum password requirements is usually a better option for anyone who’s concerned about their accounts being hacked and want to change their password❤ A lot of the time hackers can use bots to guess passwords by using the most commonly used characters and symbols in shorter passwords or even the most used phrases like “iloveyou”
absolutely, as well as using a mix of special characters, lower case and upper case etc
Thanks for the warning not impacted but still changed my password hadn't changed it in 4 years so it was time. Also, agree it sounds like a hack to me and they do need to communicate better 🙂

I was a bit worried when I saw both you and Pixelade are talking about this, so I logged into my account. Thankfully, I wasn’t one of those affected, though I wonder if my two-step authentication had something to do with that. Just to be safe, I updated my email and password to prevent anything from happening to the account in the future. Thank you for keeping us updated!
good to hear someone else (with a bigger platform is talking about it too). I hope the word gets out
Thank you so much for making this video Erin. I had no idea this was happening (not on Twitter anymore, and not active in gaming communities on my other social media.) I did change my password, and I have all the other 2-factor stuff as well.

very welcome. it's one reason I keep staying on twitter, as wild as that platform is.
I checked my account as well as the Sims 4 game on my Xbox. So far, I'm clean. I think I'll change the password later on since I'm a bit busy with my own content on my channel.
yup probably a good idea, glad your account is ok
I see a lot of youtube videos lately showing people how to get expansion packs for free, and it looks like they use EA accounts with it. I wonder if some people are downloading those expansions, and they got caught.
it's possible there are also multiple things going on at once.
you do of course have a risk of getting caught if you do that.. also malware
I’m assuming they’re using an updated AI to detect violations and it’s wreaking havoc.
it's certainly possible

This is just awful that you got to have a password as long as a dictionary to be safe.
you also want special characters caps and lower case too, plays two factor
see this is why i haven’t payed for a sims game since the s4 base game came out
unfortunately it's not at all limited to sims
I changed my password and set up 2fa just to be safe
yes! best to be safe
I haven't had happened to me on Xbox
good to hear. I def would still be safe and change your password, as we don't know the origin of what is happening
How can they ban you from a game you’ve paid for? Block certain features but a full on ban without any real chance to appeal is straight up theft in my opinion. EA needs to be reported to trading standards or start refunding people.
while I agree, it's sadly a loophole with live service games. in a way it feels like we're "renting" theses games
Sounds like EA is about to get a huge lawsuit, I've spent so much money on my games I would literally sue them
if resolved soon, I don't find it likely
This sucks, I was banned from Apex even though I never really got to play it. I hope everyone gets their accounts back
I've been blocked for 2 YEARS!! 2 YEARS worth of not being able to give my money away to new expansion, stuff packs and dumb ass kits. They denied me when I disputed. Idk what to do bc I wanna purchase more dlc's but I forbid starting all the way over in a new account. Like c'mon. 😠
2 years?? did they tell you why?
@@SimmerErin Hey, thanks for responding, Love!! Yes, they said a family I uploaded to the gallery was offensive & went against the guidelines blah blah blah. But I was already blocked before I could delete the family, and I meant no harm to anyone.
@@anthonyhosea8780 hm that seems so extreme. wouldn't it be logical to simply take that post down and issue a warning or something?
another issue of course is they often tag things as offensive in a more automated sense, and I have heard of cases where something mundane is deemed so based on either a glitch or a vague association with something else
It's really saying something when companies like EA Rockstar Games and then you got Ubisoft always on that bullshit.
Left Sims 4 for Sims 2, no worries, being happy....lalalala......
This happened to my gf. She is devastated 😢 she has had her account since 2018 and acquired all the dlc.

ooh, when did that start happening, recently?
@@SimmerErin yea, according to the steam discussion where someone made a topic, it was two days ago 😭
@@LunaxLang oh my goodness... that's worrying...
Remember the malware incident last year? I think it might be something like that, a special program similar to firewall that can get passed passwords and other protections. If I were EA, I would look into this because this will affect all of the customer base, not just the Sims. Because the customer base is where they get paid and if we lose confidence that we can trust EA, then they will lose millions from it.
Is sims 4 multiplayer? Cause I don’t understand how you get banned from a single player game. wtf ea o.o
Instagram and Facebook are even worst! Can't even ask why accts are locked or banned. Customer service non-existent!
Thx for the info. I had 2fa but changed my password too, just in case.
I had the same situation. After years I just wanted to reactive my EA account because I’m playing sims 3 again. So I signed in and went to bed. The next day I received an email that my account was permanently banned. No reason provided. Yeah fuck them
when did that happen? did you appeal?
EA is nailing more bolts on their coffin.
I am sure that EA isn't doing their job. People should use char like ! and char like that. That helps a lot. Everyone should change there password.
absolutely should change your password. add two factor authentication if you don't have it. I also just removed my payment method
That's why I stay far, far away from any game that requires you to log in to play. Good old single player that belongs to you and doesn't snitch your info to someone else is the best.
sadly hard to avoid these days, loads of games are live service models
One tip when It comes to passwords. don´t use those who look like you fell asleep over your keybord. it´s as safe to use a long word with a few spelling error you know. change a some letters to number. after all a password nobody can remember is kind of useless.
Always good to use one that has a mix of capital and lowercase, a unique symbol etc.
I’ll have to check when I get home from work. I haven’t played in over a month, but if they have been hacked I would worry because my credit card is linked to my account.
Yes, please do. make sure there isn't any unexpected activity, I might recommend removed your payment method altogether
hah, karma got them. they banned my account and removed all my sims from the gallery, i had thousands of downloads and interesting content
did they give you a reason why?
I don't agree it's getting them though- if it is a hack, that's a serious security concern for players
I was banned but I don't have access to the email anymore, is there anything I can do?
oof honestly maybe not? do you know your account ID? You're prob going to have to reach out to EA Help
my game randomly moved to a different file or something and I cannot log in
a different file? Sorry if I'm not understanding. the entire game, or a save file?
Thank you Erin, changing password right now away ❤
no problem, best be safe!
Now i gotta go try to remember my password 😢
you can easily reset it so long as you have access to your email
how do you get banned from a solo game?
your account can get banned or suspended. it's possible if breaking any of their terms of service. pirating a game can also do so. but in this case, it appears to be likely either a widespread glitch or hacking
I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I contacted them a few months back asking to looking into this mysterious ban from a year or two ago, because I never got an email, but when I went onto their help section for help in being able to play sims 3 on my macbook, I saw a ban on my account, but it never said the reason for it. They said they'd look into it, but still not a word from them. :( I'm still able to plays Sims 4, though.
woah, you were banned a year ago and they never replied??
@@SimmerErin Yes. I didn't know about it until a few months ago when I went to them to see why I was having issues being able to play sims 3 on my macbook. When I went in, it said there was a ban. I followed up the next day a few months ago, and they said someone would contact me once they found out what happened. 🤦♀
Makes me glad they don't charge (yet) for two-factor verfication. Sure, it can be manipulated, but that's so much more work on a hacker's end than trying with just an email.
Still changed my password tho, in case it is hackers at play, 'cause more inconvenience is always pleasant
btw i imagine that if this is hacking etc, EA is making sure that's what it is and trying to prevent it from wrecking more damage. But that's not always a 2sec thing, and so they might leave it unsaid until everyone gets savvy and already changed their passwords and logged-out of all access points (eg PC, site)... so in, like, a few days?
that'd be so absurd to charge for that yeah
If EA was hacked, and when they have managed to get control over their servers back, can they restore deleted accounts?
I'm asking because if they can then we users will know that deleted accounts still exists.
If they can't then I wonder how the real victims here (the ones that have lost their accounts) will be compensated. For some of the players their account is very important after all.
a temp ban wouldn't be deleted - I have no idea though how the processing works or the timeline for perm. bans. I would think they'd be able to, but I'm sorry to say I just don't know for sure how it works
@@SimmerErin Thank you for replying so quickly.
And I indeed meant with perms bans.
Maybe if it is possible to have a list of what rules are required to be broken for a perma banned then that'll shine some light on the situation.
@@Leto85 it's long, but there's their terms of service statement
www.ea.com/legal/user-agreement
I remember that a couple years back people who played the sims also got banned with no explonation, and later EA said that innapropriate sexual content is not allowed in their games.
Some people said that it meant cp and grape, but maybe it referred to wicked whims in general?
I don't think so for a few reasons: tons of people use ww, that'd be a wild banning spree. I think they would be more concerned with some really abstract delineations of ww etc- like the ones you mentioned yep.
But also here we have apex legends and madden etc players all being banned within the span of a day or two, so that would be the main reason.
Of course, there could be multiple things going on at once, but I do think it's probably a hack or phishing that occured. I really hope EA says something.... not sure if they will. It's frustrating to only be able to speculate and not know
The majority of people who were banned in my Sims groups on Facebook said they don't use mods and had bought their games from Origin or through the EA App. So... not a mod issue.
@@HughLlewellyn thanks for that info!
Question: Does changing the password help at all if they can still hack the servers anyway?
If someone has hacked EA one time. they got your old password. hoppfully EA finds the backdoor the hackers used and locked it.
yes, because likely they usually acquire your current/ past pasword. but two factor authentication is suggested
@@SimmerErin tks 🤗
How and where do i change my password?
Just go to log into your account, You can either change it when you log in or just click "I forgot my password" and it will allow you to reset it
@@SimmerErin thank you sorted it
awsome video friend
thanks, hope you and your fam stays safe
@@SimmerErin yqw friend, me and my famliy is safe
Would it be the same for ps4?
people on console have reported bans too. I saw at very least PS5. better safe, I'd at least change your password
@@SimmerErinon my ps account? Sorry I'm not tech savvy at all haha 😅
Yes.
@@SimmerErinthank you so much for your video. You are literally the only one I saw talking about this issue.
I was suspended for 7 days because I had Anne Frank up in the gallery...FOR YEARS...and I decided to redo her with new content that i PAID for. Without warning they suspended me for it yet my older one is still in the gallery. Claiming that its too traumatizing for players. Im still scratching my head on that one!
now I can say that my account is not at risk because I don't log out of the site, so it hasn't happened to me at all
I'd def. still change your password to be safe
we're all banned from something, someday, at this point of extreme censorship 😂😂😂
I think they need to have better communication too.. it's often not timely, and also often not great
i changed mine to a very long one i know my password added sec email and my phone number too.
good, 2 f authentication is always good
