I know a lot of RusAme, but if you want something that is historical...
"So you're on the floor at 54" is historical, but more angsty than romantic
"count the days" is a collection with some more fluff and humor, if you're looking for history I suggest chapters 1, 3, and 4.
"Fozen bluebonnets" is more friendship than romantic, but is set during the Cold War
"A venture into communism" is rather crack-ish but is also Cold War
"Let blow the icy winds of war" is very serious and not romantic, but set just before the Cold War
"The Pepsi challenge" is cute and set just after the Cold War
"Negotiation" is sort of between RusAme and friendship and set after the Ruso-Japanese War (in which America played a part in the peace treaty negotiations)
"Miracles and Dumb Luck" more humor than RusAme, and set during the 1980 "Miracle on Ice"
