I just discovered your channel with these beautiful ethereal illustrations. In The Netherlands we grow up with this Ecoline during our whole schooltime (dyes, not pigment) as one of 4 mediums primarily used for coloring in school projects. (Next to plakkaatverf which is similar to cheap chalky gouache, coloured pencils and craypas crayons). The colours will always fade, especially in the sunny Dutch Caribbean. I was quite surprised that they became popular again, but I guess that’s because of the brush markers. I only use them in my sketchbook or when I scan my work. I refill the markers with the “ink” from the bottles. Thank you very much for your videos and your beautiful fairytale art.
Thank you Claire 🤗 I didn’t know ecoline was used in schools somewhere in the world, that’s such a nice thing! I must be honest, I don’t know how to include them in my projects atm because they’re too similar to watercolors but with the downside of less shades to choose from.. I also have some brush markers but they don’t blend very well..
Well, this answered all of my questions pretty fast. These are definitely not for me with the similarities to ink, you used them very beautifully even with the cons (cons in my opinion).
Oh I'm sorry to hear that.. maybe the problem is with white shade specifically. It may depend on the ingredients. I actually store ecoline bottles in a drawer in a closed closet.

I didn't know this type of watercolors and techniques thank you for sharing this and your mermaids are really beautiful 🥰
Thank you 💜 I hope you’ll have the chance to try them ☺️
Your observation that they are more like inks is correct. I use ecolines often as base colors for my inking.
Such an interesting process! I’ll give it a try 🤗
Thank you for this video, I always wondered what those Ecoline watercolor inks had over regular watercolors 🌟
Si glad you find it useful ☺️
So interesting, great video Madalina! ❤
Thank you Stefania 💜
