watched this on living room TV and my mom (who doesn't play chess) asked if the evaluation bar signifies whose turn it is, because after black plays, the bar is white and after white plays, the bar is black.
For me the funniest thing throughout the game was that either black or white would just randomly lock in and play the best possible move and then play the most brain melting move since the dark ages.
Speaking from experience, normally the good moves aren't good in practice, it's only the theory of the computer that makes them good, we just tend to tunnel vision one move and lock in, spend the next 5 moves tryna make the move make sense, then lose on the 6th 😂
Actually this is how I used to (and might still) play like. I would just randomly pull out the best tricks and act like that was the plan the whole time when really I didn’t even see it until I played it.
@OscarIna0fTimeVODs Yes, it is. No Game No Life has a similar scene, but it's calling out the King for being a tyrant and leading from behind while sacrificing his people.
@studio_pb I think that usually when people say "no theory" they don't mean "don't take hanging queens" even though taking hanging pieces is definitely in the theory books.
10:33 the reason why they did not take with the pawn is that the pawn is too weak to kill that big queen so you have to kill it with smt big like knight
Actually, if you ask them what they were thinking, they'll probably say 'nothing.' My little brother is learning chess, and he used to blunder everything-he played games like that all the time. But one day, I sat with him and simply told him to explain every move he made. He went from a rating of 200 to 600 in just an hour. To be clear, I didn’t help him during the games; I just told him to think out loud. That alone made him blunder less and make more good moves.
8:20 i promise you, its the low elo mentality, i know bc i am low elo... it "doesn't feel safe" to take the enemy queen, because you're so "deep in enemy territory" and you just assume you're too stupid to figure out if it really is safe on that square. i cant explain leaving it hanging to the pawn though.
@1hpcall911now See, I thought for sure I we were going to get Qf6. Like he mentioned earlier, one style of low elo chess plays by rules of "more checks == more pressure == winning" and hoping a checkmate falls in your lap. The fact that they didn't try to check was shocking enough, but that move they chose was crazy. I'm with Erik here, they must not know how pawns work. That does raise the question as to why they didn't do Qg6 though....
@Based4Life Enlightened Eric over here truly is too based 4 life, he is currently waiting in Nirvana to see if one of us humans can ever reach his level
Levi I think I can explain what happened when players just "forget pieces are hanging": a lot of low level players see they are in trouble and basically give up and try to consolidate, not realizing how damaging losing pieces can be
Pitiful I don’t get how a player won’t capture a piece I mean a piece is hanging either take it or don’t take it if not worth it . Even as a child Chess had basic stuff to it . These guys are really bad
@michaelmassaro4375 People are just inattentive. Most people don't play chess casually for the sake of trying to outwit the guy across the table who's just as smart as you.
4:52 help im dying 5:28. am I about to die fr? 7:27 even gotham is trying to not laugh 😂 8:57 gotham is dying inside 9:45 white be like ahh i remember dont bring out your queen, now i know what i must do CASTLE so my queen die ahh yes blacks king is going to explode! 10:25 ahhh the i must not take the hanging queen with my pawn, I MUST IGONE THE PAWN AND ATTACK IT WITH DA KNIGHT 10:37 there blind 13:00 just...what 13:55 SACK THE ROOOOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKK!!!!!!! 17:00 This is just bad 17:43 we have a new rule 23:35 a moment of silence so black can get his brain back to work
9:39 Black is a gangster lame people control the center with pieces and make sure the king is save, my man took over the center with his king what a badass
Get some merch: gothamchess.store/
Also, should I make another video with Lucy soon?
YESS

Yes
Sure why not ngl, have seen her on my tiktok fyp sometimes xD
YEAH DUDE
To confuse your opponent, you must first confuse yourself.
Lol 😂😂
😂😂😂
I actually say this all the time lol
that's sun tzu, right?
😂😂
they are playing reverse chess. Whoever gets checkmated wins.
Lol gold comment
There's a similar variant on Lichess called Antichess where the goal is to sacrifice all pieces and taking is mandatory.
ig this was a draw
I was thinking that maybe they just don't know you're supposed to checkmate the king. 🤣
This comment wins, ohh my God. 😂
watched this on living room TV and my mom (who doesn't play chess) asked if the evaluation bar signifies whose turn it is, because after black plays, the bar is white and after white plays, the bar is black.
This is my favorite comment.
LOL!!!
😂😂
😂😂😂
I used to think the same for a year since I started
These two be making Martin look like Magnus
Magnus Martinsen
mcsm?
Magnus opus.
@amybaker8118 ur comment translated to Great work.
@VelvettePoptartsthat’s why it’s called someone’s magnum opus lol, it’s literally the great work.
The players are having a chess match while the evaluation bar is having a tennis match.
😂😂😂 lol
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Meanwhile the super chess engine is having a fucking stroke
Lol
if levy gained a nickel for every time he's retired, he would be able to retire.
Isn't he a drama leech.
damn thats like at least seventeen nickles
Chess's greatest clickbait queen.
17×5
Chess's greatest clickbait queen.
Sacrifice the rook ❌️
Sacrifice a rook, a queen, a knight, opponents and viewer's time ✅️
the viewer's time too
Wait the first reply changed the comment? I have an idea
And 😅😂😂❤
Nah, this was comedic gold!!
@bobica100 It is a short
always develop your king
For anyone wondering, levy has retired from chess for 81638829 times.
you missed a few
@misterunknown8923missed a few orders of magnitude
Yup i think he has retired more than that
You missed a time, its 81638830
Yeah I was almost spot on
For me the funniest thing throughout the game was that either black or white would just randomly lock in and play the best possible move and then play the most brain melting move since the dark ages.
Alternating Stockfish and Stinkfish moves
I'm 100 elo😢😢😢
Speaking from experience, normally the good moves aren't good in practice, it's only the theory of the computer that makes them good, we just tend to tunnel vision one move and lock in, spend the next 5 moves tryna make the move make sense, then lose on the 6th 😂
I suppose both the players are somehow inspired by Martin's game 💀
Actually this is how I used to (and might still) play like. I would just randomly pull out the best tricks and act like that was the plan the whole time when really I didn’t even see it until I played it.
Black be like: If the king doesn’t advance, how can he expect his subordinates to follow?
no game no life amirite
Black was actually King Albert I of Belgium.
@alkabek9581 wasnt this from Code Geass
@OscarIna0fTimeVODs Yes, it is. No Game No Life has a similar scene, but it's calling out the King for being a tyrant and leading from behind while sacrificing his people.
This is exact reference to Code Geass. NGNL _Season 1_ having a similar scene is sadly just not it.
To be fair to them, it was blitz. They were panicking the entire time.
probably should not allow 100 elo players to play blitz. they should learn the game
The low elo mentality is that pawns can only take other pawns, they’re too weak to take strong pieces like rooks.
😂😂😂
If you’re fortunate to fork two pieces a pawn is a perfect instrument
It's because they're so used to checkers
And that they _certainly_ can't give checks!
Hilarious fact!
I want to see a 100 Elo play against Martin Bot and see if we can tell who is who
YES
My first com like
Please
Martin would curb-stomp these players.
I'm like 182 elo I could lose a game with martin
I have a theory that at this level of chess, your ELO is a reflection of your pulse rate not of your skills.
Nice one
2000 ELO players:
He said at *this level*
@CalebandFriends-official I am that elo if that was true I would be dead
noted. i am not as bad at chess as i think.
23:51 minutes of absolute cinema , my heart was worrying just like the eval bar
✋😐✋
Was it really~24 minutes..? I was mesmerized through the whole endeavor!
Im so hyped by these videos!!!
the mind of a chess beginner is fascinating. It's not encumbered by openings, tactics or subterfuge. It is truly pure.
Yeah, and it would be great if Chess was like this. Pure spontaneity. No theory. :D
😂@studio_pb
@studio_pb I think that usually when people say "no theory" they don't mean "don't take hanging queens" even though taking hanging pieces is definitely in the theory books.
Meta ruined games since ever
Accurate, or maybe I'm just too lazy to learn openings
10:33 the reason why they did not take with the pawn is that the pawn is too weak to kill that big queen so you have to kill it with smt big like knight
Absolute genius 😂
Looks to me black is very afraid of doubled pawns. Black strictly refused to take with a pawn if there was a pawn on the same file already.
They're playing Stratego with chess pieces lol
This…..I swear I think this is what goes on through my brothers head
No, the pawn is just probably a simp Lol
The black side king was fricking Odysseus in disguise
I don’t remember submitting this
Yooo, the Vietnam Gamer!!!
Eval bar is having a stroke on these 100 elo games
It's an eval bar workout for sure.
Me too bro me too 💀
That bar would gain so much muscle 😅
the bar got whiplash from all that swinging :)))
I read it like "evil bar" and got confused.
Game was so bad he didn't even give them the honorary GM titles
GrandMother
@JPK1428gonorreahman
@JPK1428 nearly made me spit my drink out lol

100 elo in the vid:🙉🤡
When I'm fighting 100 elo:👹🔥
right? feels like every mistake i make is instantly punished
@IgorHenrique-tz3kelearn basic chess theory and you'll easily reach atleast 300 elo, or you're just getting really unlucky with matchups
@SPIGOTGAME when i left this comment i was 120 elo, now i'm 360 and focusing on trying to stop blundering my pieces
@IgorHenrique-tz3ke gg long live king!!! keep it up
@IgorHenrique-tz3ke where are u at now
Levy's Favourite words:
1) I am quitting chess
2) Magnus Carlsen
3) rook
4)elo
5) hikaru (nakamura)
6) that annoying ascent 👀🤣
7) Stockfish
4:39 😂"when you're rated 135, nothing is quite as important as delivering a check."
This felt like a personal attack
@MaximillianRadniecki 🤣
it's not their fault that nobody told them that pawns can take a queen, they just thought it would be disrespecting
It's called a horsey.
finally someone gets it right
If it were a knight, there would be a knight riding it. Horsey gang!
Side note, the knight could have a lance and that explains the L shaped move??
This game made me feel like a genius
00:13 If you had said "absolutely trash" I would've lost it
😂🤣🤙
Same fr
Omg yes 😂
😂😂facts
Fr
8:26 nah, he just pinned the pawn, elo 4000 move
8:15 i thought he would castle ngl 😂😂
Same 😂
same
9:48
It’d make a fun series to have pro players play a match _after_ 100 ELO players had made their first ten moves.
Does this not just allow for a checkmate
@Dude-48if one of the 100 elo players gets a checkmate both pro players lose
Make it a normal check
If 100 elo gets a normal check whatsoever he wins@kijete
@kijete lol
great idea!
This is the 78th time levy quit
I tell yeah bro😂😂
69th time
Chess's greatest clickbait queen.
20:56 "it's not in the patch notes for 100s" 💀💀💀
No one commented on that since 8 months 😭🙏
Black:- "Hmm.. Horse.. Me attack horse?" 4:09
16:35 video starts
This is elon musk
@Wind_009A person who thinks all the time
@ЕнЁн-р9еhas nothing to think about except for thoughts.
Lol
13:01 "I wish I could see what parts of the brain or anus" levy has lost his mind, lol
10:25 I think both players jst didn’t know the pawn attacks diagonally 😂😭😭
I'm dying watching this 😭😭😭
This has to be the most painful game of chess I have ever watched. Thanks for the vid, gotham
Actually, if you ask them what they were thinking, they'll probably say 'nothing.' My little brother is learning chess, and he used to blunder everything-he played games like that all the time. To be clear, I didn’t help him during the games; I just told him to think out loud. That alone made him blunder less and make more good moves.
Bro won 50 games in a row in an hour?
@SamueI12 Metaphorically Speaking
@SamueI12maybe create new account LMAO 😂😂😂😂
Wow. Coincidentally, both lil brothers are learning chess and happened to be in the same match.
@SamueI12 no it was new account so he was getting 50 elo per game
8:20 i promise you, its the low elo mentality, i know bc i am low elo... it "doesn't feel safe" to take the enemy queen, because you're so "deep in enemy territory" and you just assume you're too stupid to figure out if it really is safe on that square. i cant explain leaving it hanging to the pawn though.
I swear to god I said he's gonna Qg6 take the pawn and check the king and leave it hanging
... I would have never guessed this with 20 tries
Its easy they dont know how pawns take. Then it makes sense.
@1hpcall911now See, I thought for sure I we were going to get Qf6. Like he mentioned earlier, one style of low elo chess plays by rules of "more checks == more pressure == winning" and hoping a checkmate falls in your lap.

8:23 naw, it's nothing that complex, it's just as simple as the king moving one square down so I also move my queen one square down too 🤣
But the knight’s guarding the queen there. Black will lose their pawn if they take.
9:38 that's what I call controlling the center
you made my day sir
Ruling the center 😈
Big boy center
@NJDJ1986Sadistictushi reference?
@ToziiEditz I guess so but I didnt mean to reference that.
0:50 THE ROOOOOOOOOOOK
8:09 i am not the danger, i'm in danger
I watched my brain die
A guy knocks on someone’s door and shoots them and you think that of me? No. I am the one who answers.
4:20 "If he doesn't move it ima take it" is so real.
For lower intelligence lifeforms, sure
@Based4Life sure man we dont have the superrior, intellectual enlightenment of yours
@Based4Life Enlightened Eric over here truly is too based 4 life, he is currently waiting in Nirvana to see if one of us humans can ever reach his level
@Based4Life the description of this kid explains everything
666th like muhehehehe
18:48 You just don’t get it Levy. That f5 pawn was holding blacks position together
It pulls the room together
Epic. I bet they had so much fun.
chess has peaked
13:10 that was so out of the blue😂😂😂
I thought I was tripping 😂
Anus
Bro I was dying at that point😂
you know, plugs and all
i think the joke is because people would use beads to cheat
This man turned a 5min game into a 23 min video. Absolute cinema
This is crazy even if I have 250 elo I’ve never seen this level of stupidity
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Eval bar got mood swings for every single move.
"You can't win a battle with one horse"
-Sun Tzu, The Art of War
Spent 16:27 watching in horror, watched on in horror at the mate in one, watched on in tears the video continued for another 7 whole minutes.
Real. Literally looked at the time left when I saw mate in 1😂😂
Same
i am having a heart attack from watching this video
Black just developed his king
We confirmed what Levy's spirit animal is: Black's King running a marathon down the board 22:07
Your antics and voice makeovers had me in tears watching this. 100% top notch.
“Your drawback is: pawns can only capture other pawns unless they have promoted”
They're thinking outside the box
They're the box. Thaumiel style for each other.
Bold to assume that there's a box for them to begin with 💀
Oh you bet they're outside, but I'm not sure how much thinking is happening out there
20:29 the king really thinks he's Odysseus 🗣️💔🥀
CRYING RN 😭😭😭😭
9:02 Levy you dont understand, he pinned the pawn to the king via the queen and then the king unpinned his pawn so it could attack
But if the pawn took the queen, the pin would be gone, since there would be no queen to pin the pawn
@Poopysloopygoopy my brother in christ, allow me to enlighten you to the concept of sarcasm 😂
jokes on you my elo is 99
13:55 AND HE SACRIFICED THE ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOK
13:04 what the ffff😂😂
Levy is going insane over these games. Can't blame him
Funny reference to that one situation
Levi I think I can explain what happened when players just "forget pieces are hanging": a lot of low level players see they are in trouble and basically give up and try to consolidate, not realizing how damaging losing pieces can be
Wanna play in an online chess tournament with a cash prize (and free entry)?
@FullStrive me
@FullStrive where are you getting the money
16:13 "And now the game is over" with over seven minutes left in the video
This kind of game always causes eye bleeding.
Pitiful I don’t get how a player won’t capture a piece I mean a piece is hanging either take it or don’t take it if not worth it . Even as a child Chess had basic stuff to it . These guys are really bad
@michaelmassaro4375 theyre 100 for a reason xd
@TheOriginals-tdp Chess paralympics
@michaelmassaro4375 People are just inattentive. Most people don't play chess casually for the sake of trying to outwit the guy across the table who's just as smart as you.
You are the master at turning something like an ultra beginners blitz game into a 25 minute keep me on the edge of my seat video :)
I didn't even know it was a blitz game and the video is 25mins long 🥀
Spoiler: He's not
4:52 help im dying
5:28. am I about to die fr?
7:27 even gotham is trying to not laugh 😂
8:57 gotham is dying inside
9:45 white be like ahh i remember dont bring out your queen, now i know what i must do CASTLE so my queen die ahh yes blacks king is going to explode!

13:55 SACK THE ROOOOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKK!!!!!!!
17:00 This is just bad
17:43 we have a new rule
23:35 a moment of silence so black can get his brain back to work
I'm not a great player, but holy crap, I had such a blast with this video it's absolute cinema.
I'm pretty sure that is the worst game you've ever posted.
Not even close
As long as it's fun
18:55 the queen be like - "you should've gone for the head 🫰"
That might be the worst game I’ve ever watched
manifesting levy becoming a gm because we all know he deserves it
13:37 calmest I’ve heard him say “sacrifice the rook”
4:52 black's king just blows up 😂
2:23 "this is the French after the Germans go around the Maginot line"
21:26 levy has truly lost his mind
This match is funnier than all the comedy skits out there😂😂
i guessed the move for qg4 where he said nobody will guess it he said it was garbage so i just guessed a terrible move
Levy will only retire when the title is "I'M NOT RETIRING!!!"
Now I forget how to play chess.
Where is the honorary GM title? They surely need it
They need honorary 200 rating lol
4:14 "horse... me attack horse?" I thought you were shaping up to say "yay or neigh"
9:09 wow so brave of the King to take and lead the charge against the white pieces
i dont know why i expected to see a checkmate
95% a n us
5% stockfish
13:09 say WHAT Levy?
Hans was his coach so it makes sense
@sevchess BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
11:10 your reasoning is wrong. It is equal because engine gave up on the players.
Ok Levy, we’ll see you the next time you say “I’m retiring”
23:20 Cinema.
Levi has retired more times than the number of possible chess moves ever.
7:45 worth the built-up 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
18:11 speechless
14:07 I think he just didn’t see the bishop
9:39
Black is a gangster lame people control the center with pieces and make sure the king is save, my man took over the center with his king what a badass
Testosterone
