Philly boy jay!!!!!! Brang yo face to this screen so I can slap you!!! This is the EXACT way my grandma used to make her string beans/snap beans....they look soooooooooo dern GOOT!!!! ❤❤❤
I am a 63 y/o black woman who's been cooking pretty much all her life. And if I say so myself I'm an awesome cook. But I made your green beans for a church function and they were a hit!!! The only thing I didn't add was the cayenne pepper, which was optional. I didn't want the kids to have a reaction. Other than that I followed the recipe to a T. Thank you sir! Great recipe
@Mike Bell Of course, they do....who else was cooking for who? Anyway, hope you learned some soulful tips even if you may not know the origins of the term.
@Mike Bell eating soul food and cooking soul food are two very different things. Having grown up in a very close knit diverse neighborhood where eating with the neighbors often was a thing, I can tell you for sure nobody on the block cooked like the older black lady. It's all about those seasonings & flavor. For a lot of ppl, it's just not there. Nothing to be offended over. I'm sure you season your food well. Soul food just dates back to slavery. It's ethnic cuisine.
@@RK831Check✅️. And it can't be that garbage they named Jiffy, it has to be the homemade self-made batter that you just poured into into that hot cast iron skillet
While this looks amazing and I'll still be eating it, it is actually bad for the digestive system to eat meat, starch, and veggies in the same meal. The enzymes necessary to break down one neutralize the other. I encourage you to look into it. Western dietary habits and the idea of "steak and potatoes" lead to obesity for a reason. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to eat this happily. It's just good to know.
I will be using necks tonight! I typically use turkey tails and instead of boiling in all water, I use chicken broth as well. 50/50 so good and flavorful!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE WAY YOU FLAVOR OR SEASON ALL OF YOUR FOOD 💯 PERCENT PERFECT I'LL BE MAKING GREEN BEANS FOR MY CHURCH FAMILY& FRIENDS DAY THIS RECIPE IS AMAZING THANKS PBJ!💯🙏🙌😊❤
I did not know how the finishing touch was going to look but once you got through, WOW!!!!! I am so hungry!! That food looks like a million dollar plate!!! Man you really took that tot he stage!!! The cooking channel and those so called chefs have nothing on you at all!! You are the man with the plan!!!!

💚💚This is just what I was looking for. I just harvested a big bunch of green beans from my garden. I can see from your page we have similar tastes. I love to cook and make RUclips videos like your I hope we can learn more from each other. Thank you for your inspiration for tonight’s dinner! Thank
Looks great! If you use fresh minced garlic, fresh diced tomatoes, and real butter it will be even better! I use golden potatoes and make honey cornbread with a honey butter sauce. Thanks for sharing.
Hello I made my Green Beans exactly the way you made yours for my “Thanksgiving Dinner”! It was absolutely De-li-cious like you said😄 And it’s smelled Good! My family enjoyed them as well😃👍 Thanks
I always take the meat out before I add my veggies. Reason is because you'll overcook the meat while waiting for the veggies to cook. And I also use chicken broth for everything instead of water. I know it's delicious. Enjoy!
I must thank u for this recipe, it is inexpensive and delicous, the only thing I done differently is I put a sprig of thyme and garlic in the necks ad they were cooking. I will make this time and time again.
I made this last night. My first ever legit soul food. It was amazing! I've cooked many of your recipes but this is the first of the actual souls food ones I've tried. I had to sub in smoked pork necks cuz I couldn't find the turkey necks. Other than that I copied exactly. The sugar and vinegar and heat was on point! Thank you :)
Now that’s real home cooking right there! I like that you sautéed the onions in bacon ( I didn’t have bacon but used a little bacon grease) my mom use to use salted fat back, and I had some neck bones and used those. At my age I have to watch the salt, so I didn’t soak the beans in salted water or use the chicken broth., or season salt. But I used plenty of onion powder and garlic and a pinch of sugar. I forgot the apple cider vinegar, but it was delicious! Bad part is I made them early in the morning and by dinner time they were gone 🤗! Love your videos, keep on cooking. You need to open your own restaurant!
When i tell u these where the BEST green bean i have EVER made or HAD in my entire life. my family loved them and i was very proud of myself!!! You will be a HIT at the BBQ with these bad boys

Bought some smoked necks today gotta think of something to do with them. As an old hillbilly who enjoys southern cooking, I just want to say thank you and your ancestors for giving us this wonderful rich food culture. Maybe you should have your own restaurant.
Thank you so much for sharing ur Cooking skills , I gave you shout Outs to younget first apt learning To cook food for their families You definitely have skills U also can use the crushed red pepper flakes as the other option
I normally just use smoke turkey in boiled water, add green beans, onions, seasoning with season salt and pepper. But for Xmas I’m gonna try this recipe with a little different changes. I know it’s gonna be the first dish disappear. Good video!
Yummy! Please confirm that the turkey meat was smoked...Also, I would love for you to do a video on sauteed green beans! Cause I'm sure yours will be the best, that's right the best! LOL!!!
Were they salty? He used a lot of seasoning salt, plus bacon and he soaked the beans in salt water. Chicken stock has lots of sodium too. Smoked turkey necks are salty. I know sugar was added but that's still a lot of salt. I want to make them but I'm concerned about the amount of sodium since my family is older now.
@bri No love That's what I'm gonna do cause I don't eat pork too. I might try the lamb bacon tho. Should be bomb either way with everything else he put into it.
