Battle Brothers: CROSSBOW FORGED NEUTRAL (2024) - THIS BUILD IS OP!

- Build the same as any forged neutral (battle forged neutral, stamina neutral, all the same), BUT make use of any high ranged skill and excessive fatigue (Without brawny by either having fatigue-efficient heavy armor or large fatigue pool, or fatigue-efficient named weapons + no need for crossbow weapon spec.)!

Above is a standard Crossbow forged neutral. Can be used with Axe/hammer variants as well, of course!
Feel free to ask any questions in the comment section!
I made a video 2 years ago that explored this strategy: • Battle Brothers: Lazy ...
Tried it again recently on my stream, still working marvelously!

Really interesting tactic, will definitely give it a try one of these days!
Yaaay my favorite youtube channel :D
Good job bro!
Every once in a while we're blessed by a top tier shit post
Any chance you can re-upload all your stream vods here, I was re-watching your vods from twitch then suddenly it got deleted (just twitch things I guess)
your stream is very informative and I got a lot of insights that I didn't even know yet and that wont get on any reddit sub posts
Hey dhannco1132! It looks like the vods got deleted (default is after 7 days of the initial stream). I still have it saved on my computer, I'll see if I can upload it after a few days, I didn't know there was interest in my vods! There are a lot of other skilled Battle Brothers players which you can learn from though (And I play the game a bit more unconventionally). Hope I'll catch u live on my stream sometime when I play BB!
@@CptZhu Unconventional? I believe you meant innovative!
like your idea on the Forge Neutral, never really played with Neut builds & have forced my ways building Beserk/Frenzy even with just 115-120 fat, cuz hitting twice in a turn is really something especially in the initial rounds also with adrenaline yet fatiguing out on round 2 is a big NO NO, also the fact I need to charge the enemy every time going up on the hill and getting hit like a billion arrows in the face like "ughh" anyway this build gave light and made me back out from pigeon holing on (brawny, berserk, frenzy, & adren) and now I have more room for more interesting perks. Lastly I didn't know that the number of settlements near a castle/fort factors in with the selling price, cool facts I thought its just a visual thing, after hearing that I looked for one around my map, started racking up renown to that one castle and here I am with 30k gold like my very first time having that luxury imagine having the leeway of hiring any bro an buying anything compare to me before like 10k was my highest threshold. Thank you!
Your stream is distinct it is just laid back, and chill. I hope to see your stream vods soon in you channel (no need to edit, cuz I might miss a tip I still don't know yet). To more unconventional playthroughs and guides!
@dhannco1132 man your comment just made my day! I was always afraid of people finding my streams a bit boring. But I love bringing relaxing/laid back vibes with skilled but unique gameplay. Thank you so much for your kind comment ❤️
Hey @dhannco1132, sorry that it took so long but there were a lot of issues with uploading the VODS due to copyright issues with songs during my stream. Anyways, here is Chapter 1 from Knights of the Realm (My latest, and very fun run) ruclips.net/video/8k_Md2XfJDY/видео.html Hope you're still interested!

is it really worth using a perk for though? You can still get the enemy to rush you just by equipping the xbows, although I dont know if this is worth losing the ~6 fatigue for like you said. Imo the best fat neutral build is the dodge fat neutral - just need to hire oathtakers as they have on average ~25 less fat than ini meaning that when equipped with a hyena mantle they get between +10 & +6 melee def & range def at all times (+6 to both even when fully fatigued). This stacking mdef on a heavily armoured fat neutral is disgusting and kinda broken tbh.
I should add for the above dodge fat neutral build that 1) you need famed heavy armour if you want 25fat to protect from injuries, 2) you dont ever actually level ini.
You dont take the crossbow perk, the thumbnail is a bit misleading. Dodge forged is also a nice build! Very good on oathtakers indeed
Woaaah what’s that quick swap mod? I’ve never seen one that puts the swap hot keys on the left
I forgot the name, but the link is in my 7 essential mods vid!
Wait, but what does ''neutral'' mean in all those build names (including forged x-bow neutral)?
It means stamina neutral builds where you cam still swing a big 2H weapon once a turn whilst being able to move 1 tile with pathfinder and weapon spec. Basically a battleforged bro without using fatigue and berserk! Pump everything in melee skills, HP and resolve
Would yoy be willing to share the whole build and target stats without gear?
Hey! Just any bro that you would build into a forged neut, but with 40+ ranged skill and some excessive fatigue. Excessive fatigue can be reached with named armor or weapons, or high base fatigue, or taking brawny (last resort and I recommend against this)
@@CptZhuI dont even know what a forge neutral build is 😅
@@captaincool6785 As in, you never heard from the build? Or just dont really know what a forged neut exactly entails? Would you like to make a video about it?
So inspired by this video I started an Oathtakers campaign where I recruit exclusively Oathtakers, built as either a traditional berserk two-hander (I only have 1 so far) or a forged neutral, but everybody gets a crossbow!
Oathtakers have ridiculous Initiative, which you can increase even further because you ignore Fatigue completely when levelling up. I take every roll in MA and MD and then split the third roll between Resolve / HP as needed and when I'm happy with those stats (90+ HP with Colossus and 50+ Resolve), everything else goes into Initiative. I then take Dodge to turn that Initiative into MD & RD. This gives my Crossbow Forged Neutrals around 14 extra defence even when completely stammed out. The full build for high Initiative characters is:
1) Student.
2) Colossus.
3) Dodge.
4) Steelbrow.
5) Underdog.
6) Battleforged.
7) Brawny (allows you to completely ignore Fatigue when levelling up).
8) Quickhands.
9) Weapon Spec (Axe mostly).
10) Executioner.
11) Killing Frenzy.
This gives you an extremely tanky frontline soldier that can also do a lot of damage. Each soldier is equipped with a crossbow to start and a two-handed weapon (axe) and reach version of that weapon (poleaxe) in the pocket. Starting with the crossbow out also reduces the fatigue penalty imposed by the two handed weapons.
Pathfinder is completely unnecessary because the enemy will just charge you every time while you take potshots at them and then switch to axe / poleaxe when they are in range. So much fun!
My bannerman has the same build except that I take Fatigue over Initiative, so he has Gifted over Dodge; Fortified Mind and Rally over Executioner and Killing Frenzy. Therefore, my entire squad is composed of Battle Forged Frontliners with all the tanky abilities and crossbows AND good damage even if they mostly hit only once per turn. I have a great seed (randomly rolled) with very strong starting bros.
Would it work with 12 handgonnes? Does it make enemies think "oh no, ranged!"?
Yes that would work too! Although handgonnes are very expensive to get early on. Also, the benefit of crossbows is being able to shoot at pointblank range and bonus chance to hit
@@CptZhu Actually, it will not if they have ranged because outranging plays a massive role in the aggro formula. If they have more ranged units that can shoot whilst being out of range of your units and not vice versa, they will stay on the defensive. Throwing weapons also aren't as effective because of this, you will have to close the gap a little to get their ranged within your throwing range before they consider charging you.
@@Omar_Al_Seddik yeah, this is very true and why I tend to stick with forged neut xbows

Os melhores e mais xenofóbicos filhos da puta de Pendor, adoro esse sacanas!😂
Just use a mortar, from the mortar mod
I just play this game wrong
There is no right and wrong my friend, when you are having fun!
