STOW MARIES LIVING HISTORY WEEKEND - PILOT VLOG no 407

- Stow Maries Great War Living History Weekend gave visitors a chance to see how the airfield might have looked during the First World War. The airfield was opened in 1916 as one of three which existed to provide protection to London from the Zeppelin airships which were being used to bomb the city.
I am not a qualified flying instructor nor do I ever claim to be a very good pilot. I fly for fun and basically record for my own interest and review but upload because a number of people suggested that I should. I do try to edit for enjoyment and story telling and this means that some content is not always included.

I was a very interesting day and i was only only able to captured part of it!
Thank you Tim,for your time and effort into these videos for ME,we all made to feel that we are part of this day out.
Thank you and glad you enjoyed the video.
Looks like a great day out, Tim. So glad the history is still being kept alive like this. 🙂
It was a good day out and nice to be able to fly in
That looked a wonderful day out, Tim. It’s great that they’re still having re enactment days at Stow Maries. A wonderful event to fly to 👌👏👏
It was a very interesting event to fly into.
What a fantastic event that looks! I love the attention to detail of the uniforms & inclusion of the biplane!
I always look forward to & enjoy your videos! 😊👍🏼
Thank you Geoff. I only captured a little of what was going on.
I love those "living" events. It's great to share and bring to life how things were. Thanks for sharing and I hope all is well.
Thanks for watching and glad you liked it.
That looked like a good day out, albeit not an airshow. It was nice that John got to see one of his old aeroplanes.
There are plenty of aircraft which John has owned at some point in the past! 😊
That looked a very interesting day out with very decent weather. Chris in Devon.
Very true, Chris. A good event and a nice weather
Good morning Tim, nice video.
Thank you. Glad you liked it.
I went last year and made an idiot of myself by asking one of the privates if there was WiFi, he made me laugh when he said "not in 1914 sir" 🤣 Great video Tim.
Back again there tomorrow for their fly display!
Great video Tim! Nobody does this kind of event better than the Brits… was hoping to fly over to the UK in the Mascaret this year, but the weather has just been too unreliable this Spring/Summer.
It was good but not too many public visitors. Maybe the Sunday was better.
Nice one captain Tim and what a gem of a airfield friday mornings tea and toast and the damp smell of wet grass to add to the authenticity. well done
Thank you Barry
Looks like a good place to visit Tim..I Remember the military show they used to have at Damyns hall..it would pull a good crowd of people. Unfortunately doesn’t happen any more and also the little reenactment group and car show they had every year at point clear st osyths they would march right through the site pipers and everything..the kids loved it. I suppose a lot of youngster now are not interested in Old men dressed as soldiers telling the truth of our history..such a shame..anyway mate thanks for another great vid..always makes my Friday..I’m off to fly some rc planes….regards Jim😊
I remember flying into Damyns Hall military days. Hope the RC flying went well.
I don't know how I forgot to look at this video that I put into watch later. I must say I would like to go to one of the Stow Maries' events some time.
@@flyingkub They are usually good events. I have their flying display still to edit.
@@JodelFlyer look forward to it.
If I'm not flying then watching your vlogs is the next best thing 😄 Does John fly his Zenith very often?
@@kkiwi54 Thank you. John is not flying at the moment, unless with me. 😊
What was the problem at the last Fly-in that you got sent away from. Thanks Ken from NZ.
No Ken, that was a different event. How are things in NZ
@@JodelFlyer Things are great here but we have had more rain and wind than in the past years. I dont fly now and living in a retiremnt Village. Keep up the good work on these vidios. Love them.
@@kenjones3736 Thank you
Was that a near miss at 2.42?
No, that was me passing Duncan in the Jodel D18. He formatted behind me for the flight.
