Beautiful video. Thank you for sharing. Late ADHDer here and I totally get the journey of coming to terms with a new identity. I also embraced the grey 3 years ago and never looked back. I get so many compliments from women young and old. Plus it saves me so much time and money 🥰

Thank you Bev! I wish the gray would just grow in and be compliant! Lol. It seems to grow in literally ONE STRAND AT A TIME. And mostly underneath. So when my hair is down, I look like I have none. But if I put it up, it’s all there around my ears. Weird pattern!

I just turned 50 this year and so much of your story mirrors mine. Life is rarely traveled down a smooth, well-paved road. Lots of speed bumps, potholes, and detours along the way. However, the growth that comes from the journey is worth more than gold.❤

Thank you for this raw and honest self-reflection of your journey. So much of what you’ve said also resonates with me. I lost my mom 6 years ago and the grief, as painful as it was, has brought out in me that inner strength I’ve been feeling but never expressing much. Your mom would be - no, she IS- so proud of the stronger and better version of yourself you’re evolving into. Sending so much love, light, and hugs your way ❤❤

May I begin by saying…you are glowing in this video. Just radiant!
You are resilient, you are strong, you are vulnerable and you are the true example of not giving up.
What really shines through is your desire to keep evolving, to keep growing and to learn from all the fresh starts, loss and brand new information you have received about yourself!
I’m so happy you are here on YT and it’s evolved into a healing journey that you are brave enough to share with the world which is not an easy task.

An odd.sidr effect of being a beauty creator is becoming more comfortable with my aging skin, hair, and body. I stopped coloring in April, and I'm so excited as my gray is coming in. I can't wait to see if I'm silver or white or??

I recently turned 50 and feeling the pull of another fresh start. I too lost my mother and am still in the grieving and processing stage of loss. My youngest is now an adult and though 3 of my kids still live at home, they are off doing their thing. At times I couldn't wait for this stage of life and I'm excited about it but also it's hard letting go. I love getting older. i love the wisdom I have now but not too thrilled about the changes to my body. lol But I'll take it for the experience. I used to color my hair until I lost most of it during chemotherapy. Now I embrace my white/gray/blonde hair. I love getting older and I'm proud of my hair and my laugh lines. It's a beautiful time in my life even though there are big challenges.

I appreciate your comment so much. It’s affirming for me to hear the stories of other women embracing their aging. Because my mom didn’t embrace her opportunities, I didn’t have a model for how to be older. And since my sister and I are estranged, I cannot reference her experience either. Regarding the kids, I remember not too long ago I was driving somewhere and keenly aware that I wasn’t thinking about my son, who was off at college. The next moment, I was in TEARS 😭 that I hadn’t been thinking of him and what a horrible parent I was! Oy! When I calmed down, I came to my senses and realized that I must have been securely processing that transition. Eventually I was able to celebrate! We go through SO MUCH. STUFF!

Oh my we have a lot in common. I am 55, divorced and found my soul mate in 2011. But also with a 12 year old daughter and all of that going on with the divorce. But then in 2015 my mom was also having cognitive decline and she was always my anchor and the strong one for me. However, like you the roles reversed and it was so hard. I was a teacher, but quit to take care of her and my dad also. It was horrible time, but thankfully my husband was my rock through it all. I also had signs from my mom after she passed. I was so close to her also. I feel exactly like you with my mom now not being here. I also had a relationship with a sister and a brother also are gone. Thankfully, am super close to one of my sisters. But I also became really spiritual and have become more insightful and less anxious. Has taken a lot of time though. I had PTSD after taking care of my parents. And then of course menopause was not an easy transition either. So yes, I relate a lot to your video. Oh, and my daughters now is 24 and doing great with a wonderful boyfriend and self-sufficient.

Jen, this is a perfect video; it's beautiful. You went through so much change, but you also went through so much growth. Be comforted in knowing that your mom raised you to be the daughter you needed to be. Missing our moms can sometimes take a long while to handle. Your identity is composed of so parts and layers that you are still discovering. It is a gift to be able to acknowledge your changing roles in life. As long as you are growing and giving and loving, your mom is always with you. She must have been an incredible person and parent.

She never hurt me..I just didn’t understand her need. We started to become much closer when I became a mother. There just wasn’t enough time to build our adult relationship. I would have liked that very much. 💕😢

Oh goodness, Friend! I am feeling this all the way through! Love the setting as it is so calming and relaxing. Your emotions are very genuine and makes me as a viewer feel it so much! I know what grief is all about. Besides my oldest son passing away, I can definitely sense the grief of the other parts of life changing. I love the idea of the new identity and taking that in. I love how you are still reading from your notes and sharing genuinely. That makes me feel better to know that it is okay to do that. As for financial...I took the Dave Ramsey course and it helped me tremendously. Definitely worth it. I'm so glad you are starting to focus on you! I am definitely letting my hair go gray...I used to color my hair but not for years now! Gray is beautiful on a lot of women. Do you have more information on finding out about being Autistic at an older age? I've always been curious especially since my youngest son has aspergers. I feel I may have some traits but not sure. I'm so sorry about your mom. So sweet that this is dedicated to her. What a great and emotional video! This will be a great new chapter for you! 🙂

Thanks for all the love sent.💕✨. That is right next to my bed in my room. I LOVE my bed so I thought I’d showcase my favorite spot! lol. I cannot imagine the grief you must have felt at that time. A good friend of mine lost her teenage daughter about 4 years ago, at age 18. She and my son knew each other since day care. She turned her grief into something wonderful though and made a foundation in her daughter’s name. I’ll be exploring more of the depths of me soon. I feel as women, we are expected to be able to do so much and forget that we must take a step back sometimes to heal all the stuff we leave behind bc we are so busy being moms, wives, employees, etc…
