Odunze is buried on the depth chart. McConkey is top WR day 1. Odunze might be a better long play, McConkey could be the next PPR monster. Both have a good chance to succeed and at this point, both have the same chance to bust 😂
Great show Kyle! I am actually in a 14 team SF rookie draft right now. Currently pick 2.12 OTC, my next pick is 3.03. Team needs would be RB or TE, but probably BPA will be WR. How do you balance team needs versus BPA? Very active league, but trades are not always possible, like i have Dotson, Burks, M.Wilson, Wan'Dale collecting dust on my bench, so really not looking to add another WR.
Xavier legette at 2.07 is a steal I hope I can get him at the 2.03 in my draft. Canales is going to know how to use him and had DK Metcalf who was a similar style player coming out.
Guy in one of my leagues has 1.01 and 1.04. I’m hoping he doesn’t realize he can take MHJ at 1 and still get a QB at 4. Outside of a situation like that, people should really be taking QBs early, like you said. Getting a QB2 in the first round isn’t the jackpot you were hoping for, but it’s still definitely a W.
If you hold 1.1 and don't "need" a QB, why take Williams now hoping to sell him later for a stud (a stud like Marvin Harrison Jr. perhaps)? If we think MH Jr. is a current AND future stud, why not just take him now and enjoy the "sure thing" (as well as him being startable NOW versus a 3rd QB sitting on your bench until some potential future trade)?
This is a 14 team SF league so QBs are at a pretty high premium. There are good overall talents at pick 13 but nothing like getting a QB like McCarthy in Minnesota. Value seems fine, especially since Pittman is solid but probably will never be a great fantasy WR and is likely at peak value. He did most of his damage with Minshew last year and we still don't know what the passing/receiving game looks like with a full season of Richardson. Ironically I think the best thing for Pittman would be Richardson hurting himself again and Flacco stepping in. Also, '6 spots' is very relative. Would you say that about 8 to 2? 9 to 3? I think as long as you're getting one of the top 4 QBs the 6 pick gap will be at least Pittman size in value.
Just finished my rookie draft for rebuilding team, I believe my haul might save my team early. 1qb, 1 MHJ 2 Pearsall 3 Lloyd 3 Burton 4 Guerendo 5 Rattler Lets gooo
12 team superflex. I have Lawrence, Richardson, Levis 1.01, 1.02 and 1.03. Going Williams and MHJ at 1 and 2. Should i go Daniels or Nabers with 3? Need wrs
@Narutocjw, I'm not sure how you can say that. Both are mediocre. Like what's the point of arguing who is better. But Yates is not the only person who had said Brisset might start the year. Maye still needs some development, the offense needs development. There is no reason to rush Maye out there. Patriots need a couple more drafts with high picks to improve this roster.
If Bo Nix is there at 1.10, I’m considering trading Bryce Young for him. I have the 2.01 and 2.04 also so it would just push more value down to my other picks.
You disagree with 1.01 taking MHJ over Caleb, 1.03 Nabers over Daniels and in both instances you reference QBs being currency in a 14 team SF league. Then moments later you trade out of the 7th pick where you could take JJMc to ultimately take a WR you covet. I don't disagree with your trade, I'd have done the same thing. But it just seems contradictory and wanted to get an idea of your thought process, especially when you're high on JJMc.
Your Maye and McCarthy argument sounded like it was counter to the opinion you hold. This is dynasty so starting immediately is a small factor. You basically argued that McCarthy is going to be rushed in to start when he’s potentially not ready as to where NE will be patient Drake Maye and start him when he’s ready so that he won’t form bad habits that he would if he were started when unprepared. Idk but that sounds like a dang good argument to take Maye over McCarthy. That and the fact that Maye was a significantly more productive college QB and his profile is much more impressive that JJ’s. Give me Maye any day of the week.
Good thoughts. Comes back to what I thought of them as prospects. Maye’s tape signaled more boom/bust. McCarthy’s tape was clean…it just was a small sample size.
there’s an argument for ladd over rome in redraft but if you do that in dynasty you’re just being foolish. it’s a multi year game don’t draft someone solely based off year 1 projections

If you listened. He said the situation is better this season. He didn't say anything about draft profile.

In this class especially, I’m going WR there because any RB would be a reach. Unless Ray Davis is still somehow available.
Dunno about that JSN story. He was a HUGE prospect last year. Big difference - 2023 was extremely deep on defense. 2024 - not so much.

Exactly. Good way of looking at it.
What a likable fella. Subbed
Thanks for tuning in!
Earliest you’d go for Benson in superflex?
Completely depending upon whether or not I’d need a RB, but 1.08/1.09.

That's wild how far the QBs fell. I really hope Rome hits, I've got enough shares of him
giving up pittman to move up 6 spots seems Roughhh...........
A second or even two seconds would have been more accurate and then maybe get a third on top back on top of Ladd and Pittman
This is a 14 team SF league so QBs are at a pretty high premium. There are good overall talents at pick 13 but nothing like getting a QB like McCarthy in Minnesota.

If Jayden Daniels is to go on 1.03 would you take Nabers or Maye/JJ on 1.04?
Unfortunately, totally dependent on team need. However, in a SF league, I’m probably going to go with the QB unless I’m stacked at QB.

Trade down, get assets and a tier 2 WR at 1.5/6/7… whatever
Why would you go Daniels if you have Caleb, Lawrence, and Richardson? Especially if you need wr? Pick the wr or trade back. Don't over think it.
What!? 😂 I can see JJ sitting behind Darnold way more than I can see Maye sitting behind Brissett lol
Brissett > Darnold.
But also these are two mid QBs so I don’t want to stand too strongly on that take 😂
@@kyleyatesfantasyfootballNah, Darnold is better than Brissett

JSN played with and outproduced g.wilson and Olave. Not saying he was better but he was definetly up there with Rome
Definitely not saying that JSN was a bad prospect. Just that Rome is a tier above.

Yup! All based on the fact that I have Anthony Richardson and Kirk Cousins already with some lower level starters as depth. Needed WR.

Terrible trade for the guy that sent you pittman just to move up 6 spots. Especially in a 14 team league.
He needed QB and was deep at WR. Trade made sense for both sides.
I think we’ve gone way overboard with the QB obsession. They’re important, but you can’t compete without any talent in other places.
Ricky or Thomas at 1.10
I would go BTJ
Thomas and it’s not close my dude! Ricky was a luxury pick for the 9ers.
You care far too much about landing spot. Take the best player, they’ll figure it out.
He speaks so many false statements
MHJ and Malik Nabers over CW 100 times out of 100 no matter the league format and no matter the roster
That is a spicy take, my friend!
