This is Hysterical. Grabbing a bunch of scenes, placing then out of context to create any image of the character you want. One can do this with anything, even Romper Room. 😆😆😆😊
Filming Death Race 2000, they had to abruptly stop as Speed Racer eliminated the competition in the first minute method-acting his role. Corman fired Speed, replaced with zen Carradine to garner enough footage to make a film. True story!
1:36 I get it, I FINALLY GET IT!! Speed says that he’ll see him after he gets out of the hospital, though he is clearly very much dead. He is even in denial about it a few seconds later, when he says “I’m sure he will”. He won’t allow himself to realize that he killed another man, he thinks he’s the hero, he thinks he’s just roughing up some bad guys so he can save the day, when he’s actually murdering and terrorizing a bunch of innocent contestants for no reason. And this is all in the fault of Speed Racer’s stupid, greedy, diabolical father for indoctrinating him into thinking that he was the only person who matters, and that he can kill and kill, with no consequences whatsoever. Well not anymore, Speedy, I’ve got Marvin Mattress on my side, and he’s more powerful than you can possibly imagine. Now that I’ve figured out your mental illness, I know exactly how to take you out. Thank you AdventuresOfSly, for releasing this recovered dash cam footage, we couldn’t have done it without you.
Speed actually killed his whole family a long time ago, the "Family" he sees are just hallucinations he expereiences to allow him to avoid taking responsibility for his own actions.
1:37 I'd like to point out that the clip of Speed Racer staring into the flames is actually him looking at the burning wreckage of a helicopter crash that he caused.
I first saw Speed Racer as a little kid in 1971 on tv in Maryland and absolutely loved it! In fact, I think it was my introduction to Japanese anime and I've been an anime fan ever since!
This must been the most sociopath cartoon character I have ever seen and yes, that includes the Joker. There is even an episode where another racer needs a victory to pay the cancer treatment for his sister and Speed instantly goes 'Nope, letting him win would be against the rules!'. maybe ainz from overlord and rimuru as nice of a slime as they are, they became a demon lord for a reason. i'm sure there's others but speed racer was the first.
Ah yes. Again Speed shows his psychotic behavoir. Well he has a need for speed... and very excessive mass slaughter. Not to forget his terribly violent behavoir is tolerated by those around him, they validate him. Also the addition of blood effects was genious.
This would legitimately make an awesome dystopian “death race” style movie. Bad live action adaptations keep popping up everywhere, but this, this would be a masterpiece. Imagine Running Man meets Mad Max Fury Road mixed with a hint of The Mighty Ducks.
The black AF1s WITH RED SOCKS had me rolling. This man is a demon, an unholy blight on all that is good and pure in this world. He must be stopped! He cannot be stopped.
