Japan is a gorgeous place, it's not hard to have fun in Japan or find interesting things to do in Japan. I'm sure lots of people would appreciate a vlogger recording themselves exploring the streets and going shopping or something rather than whatever this is.
I’ve watched many japan vlogs for no reasons and people have always been so respectful of everything, and just vlog to different shops and places they’re going. and if they’re not sure of something, they’ll ask someone.
Same. I'm half Japanese, and even though at first the levels of respect Japanese have culturally can be overwhelming, it's what makes Japan special and should be respected too. This was just painful, there's SO much you can do in Japan, so much to be able to make exciting content with, without having to be disrespectful or to be a jerk. This is the reason why countries like Japan tend to feel uncomfortable around foreigners.

I was in Japan two weeks ago and unfortunately stumbled across Logan Paul. He was at a Buddhist temple in Tokyo and being horrible. He and his goons were wearing kimonos and running around at the Senso-Ji Buddhist temple. They were yelling, jumping off of walls, and interfering with people trying to pray. At one point Logan threw a few yen (pennies) into a collection receiver, referred to it as a wishing well, and made fun of the people standing right there praying. He also made fun of their cleansing ritual. Much of this disrespect was posted to the video "KICKED OUT OF JAPAN! (i'm sorry)". He is clearly NOT sorry. If these antics took place at a church in the US there would be outrage over just that. The suicide video is surely horrible, but only part of how badly he behaved in Japan. As an American traveling in a foreign country, I was mortified and embarrassed to be anywhere in the vicinity.
Its unfortunate how much influence just a few dumbasses who the lack the common sense to understand tourists are guests of the country they visit can have.

Unfortunately, they don't, they shouldn't be exposed to such behavior. I hope so as well, even at thirteen, I had come across PewDiePie but at that time, he wasn't as bad. How is that connected to what I just said? And at least his intentions were good. He was trying to spread awareness, not mock and poke fun at suicide. Don't go. Please hear me out here! I make some pretty good points you might agree with. In the end he saw his faults and took the video down.
He only really messed up when he got close to the body and revealed it on camera. Of course he mentions, while viewing the man, he'll blur out the face in respect of the man's privacy, but he intentionally left in the hands being blue to show that suicide is real, and that what he was showing was real and shouldn't be taken lightly or as a joke. When he leaves you can tell he's disturbed, and he mentions multiple times that he's supportive of his fans and encourages them to be different. In the end he doesn't plug in his merch or monetize the video so he that he couldn't make money off the video. He even throws in the suicide prevention hotline in the end, for the u.s, the u.k and Japan.
Yes, he cracked a joke asking the camera man, "what, you've never stood next to a dead body?" But that was the only joke he made at the scene, and it wasn't even about suicide, just the irony of the situation itself. And yes the body was in the thumbnail, but it was his way of showing that he wasn't joking and he wasn't trying to clickbait people for a joke, rather a serious situation. I still don't believe he should have done it, but I can understand his purpose in doing so.
Did he mess up? Yes. But his intentions were well. He wanted to spark controversy, but not an outrage. The problem is that he went about it the wrong way according to social media. He's also young and considered a goof, so of course people didn't take him seriously and just slammed him because they were upset he showed the world a corpse fallen victim to its own suicide.
The internet isn't P.C, photos of Shanika Jenkins surfaced the internet after her death. People posted her body in a negative way for views. Also, many other dead bodies from infamous situations has surfaced the internet with bad intentions. People had even taken Logan's very serious suicide situation, only to show the dead man to make a joke out of him _and_ Logan. So tell me, who were the real people to mock the situation and the dead body?
You don't have to like him, I don't like him. You don't have to see him as a hero, I don't see him as a hero. But we can admit that his intentions with that video were well. Journalist, and big youtubers misconstrued it _purposely._ Example, pewdiepie made a video reacting to Logan Paul's "We found a dead body." He intentionally leaves out the part where Logan calls the police as soon as they confirmed the situation was real. He makes a big whoop about it, Pewds does, cracking jokes on Logan and the situation and lying over exaggeratedly that Logan didn't call the police. Then pewds claims to his audience he doesn't want to show them the video, "because it's stupid". No he didn't want to show his audience because he was lying. If he had played the clip two seconds longer, it literally would have showed Logan calling the police, so there was no way he could have missed it.
As for journalist, when did we start believing in everything they said? *Even blogging sites such as, We The Unicorns who uploaded and mutilated this video to make Logan look horrible, lie.* If you watch the original video, you can see where they cut out the reactions of people laughing and smiling with Logan, one of them being the cop Logan threw the poke ball at. I'm not condoning everything Logan did in his Tokyo, Japan series, but he did everything in the name of good fun. You know that part where he comes out of the store dancing with a kimono and rice hat on? Literally two seconds after that he receives a huge cover with the Japanese symbol and "welcome back to Japan, we love you Logan." He proceeds to wrap the cover around his shoulders eliciting wild screams from his fans and they all begin to run down the streets, laughing and having fun. Of course that was edited out, what would We The Unicorns look like making Logan look like a decent guy? No, he has to be an idiotic, privileged ass hole. They've gotta get views some how, and if bringing down his name is how, then they'll do it. Funny how when bigger media outlets tried that technique for Shane, everyone instantly shut them down claiming "We should uplift each other, not tear each other down or misinterpret their actions!" But when the same people were asked to apply the ideology to Logan's situation, it's a no because everyone else is making a villain out of him and to defend a villain is just... disgusting, even though what he did was an honest mistake.
And what does Logan get from all this, an apology from bigger people for using his name as slander? No. He gets slammed and lied on. His movies are cancelled, his money is messed with and many companies cut him off, one even tries to sue his Maverick clothes line. I understand he violated one of RUclipss policies ... erhm... sort of, because he did censor the body and there are many videos on RUclips, even ones by big time companies who shows bodies on their videos, but it's considered alright because certain parts are blurred. Anyways, yes he made a mistake, and he apologized and took the video down proving he understood his faults, his place in social controversy and he regretted what he did. He didn't upload that video for negative feed back _on purpose_ despite Matt Pats deep and over analytical *theory* accusing Logan of doing so. Why would he, when he was on the top of his game? For a couple of more views than usual?
People are not outraged because of suicide, they're outraged because Logan showed a body. They are out raged because they've been deceived to by misinformation about this situation. They are outraged because RUclips might support Logan a little more than they support themselves (RUclips creators I mean) or people's favorite RUclipsr's. Parents are outraged because they don't know how to appropriately monitor what their children watch. They need a scapegoat. They don't want to believe that Logan was never a content creator for kids, even if his videos drew in the likes of them. He bluntly talks about sex, drugs, clubs, liquor quite brashly. He even curses for fucks sake.
But most importantly, people are outraged, because there are people like me who forgives Logan faults. There are people who believe in second chances no matter how big, and there are people who see through the mainstream bull and see Logan's true intentions. Every mistake should be met with compassion and understanding. We are ALL only human, no matter how rich, popular, nice, mean, stuck up, easy going, political, right, wrong etc. We all mess up, and to fault and lie on someones mistakes, or to even bank off of whatever your social status high is, is wrong. That's fucked up. That's truly disgusting.
One day, we will all fall together because we haven't broken our sheep minded mentality. We prey after making ourselves look better than other people, and will hurt and trash anyone it takes to get there. Logan's mistakes here, was a prime example.
By the way, if Logan hadn't found that dead body, that man could have been hung there for weeks. The family , to some degree have to be thankful, he found their uncle, brother, father, friend. He did a good deed in the end, even if posting it with well intentions didn't turn in his favor.

No, I'm not denying what he did was wrong, and yes there were many ways to solve this issue more sensibly, AND people should call out his wrong doings! But to bring him down is absolutely wrong. To trash him for his faults is wrong. _Everyone_ who is talking about this situation, did not see the original videos for themselves, they've seen edits like this! That's what makes me upset, the spreading of misinformation to slander someone's name, and that's ALL this has been. That's what makes it wrong, that's why you said _"he mocked a dead body."_ If I hadn't seen the original, don't you think what you had commented early, would have been another misinterpretation of the video and Logan's intentions?
