    Love my D28 so much that I spend time at work watching videos of other people playing D28s 🙂. The neck and nut width took me a bit as well, some adjustments and it’s my favorite. Bluechip (48?) pick and medium retro strings. Love it

      I’m with you. I bought my D28 in 2018. Love it. I also watch Guitar videos at work ha. You ever get annoyed when you read the comments and people feel a need to put down a D28 or whatever just to justify their choice in guitar?

    I also have the 2017. I play in tshirts so the snaps on my shirts don't scratch her. Finest thing I've ever owned.

    Nice acquisition.
    I bought a 2001 d28 5 years ago and puted a LR Baggs Anthem and gee I'm so satisfied.
    Understand your enthousiasm.
    Enjoy my friend

      I also own a 2001 Martin D-28. The top and sides are discolored and faded, making it a very nice guitar.
      I also own 2010 Gibson J-45 Standard. The characters are properly separated and I use them in my work every day.
      Both guitars come in handy with the La Buggs ELEMENT system built in. By comparison, I find D-28 more natural in direct sound.
      By the way, I have GHS VINTAGE BRONZE medium strings on both guitars. When recording, a small condenser microphone is attached to the K & K boom attachment.

    There is nothing like the D-28!! Shimmer and sustain like no other. I have the D-28 and the D-28-12. Perfectly matched the two complement each other. Love it.

    I'm getting mine in a few days, after playing this guitar for 5 minutes, I fell in love, I love how you can really lay into the guitar and it does not overwhelm in tone.

      Congrats! You won't regret it. It's my favorite out of all of my guitars! I play it 3 to 5 shows a week for 3 hours at a time, and it sounds even better than when I got it 2 years ago. It's broken in a bit now.

    That's just wonderful. And great to see, because I bought one myself just recently. I wanted to have an L.R. Baggs Anthem in it and in just a week I can pick that beauty up. It's definitely one of my dream guitars. I thought it's probably going to be the last one, but I'm already thinking about the next guitar.
    O man, another week. The excitement is killing me! 😁

    Happy new great sounding D-28 and you wear it well. Just got my 1st Martin a D-18 and for me it has the same wow factor. Set up and playability perfect. I wanted the Anthem but ended up at their suggestion with K&K. Sounds good but more finicky with my Fishman mini. Been looking at the HD-28, the D-28 with Adi top but I keep coming back to the D-28 with the Anthem. It's all I need and as for the D-18 I should have bought one years ago.

      Congrats on the D18. I've had this guitar over a year now and it sounds even better than the day I got it. I'll be doing another video on it soon. Check out my K and K pure mini pickup videos for some EQ tips if you're interested. I prefer those way over the Baggs units. 🤠🎸🎸

    Can’t beat a D-28. The higher end Martins are mostly cosmetic over a D-28 - beautiful yes, but it takes a pre-WWII Martin to really sound much better.
    I’m lucky enough to have a 1969 Brazilian D-28, the last year they were made with Brazilian as standard models.
    A real gem.

    What in your opinion is the biggest difference between the D18/28?

    • @TaylorSchlupp
      @TaylorSchlupp  3 года назад +1

      I think that the D28 sounds fuller with the rosewood back and sides. The d18 sounds brighter to me. To compensate, I put brighter strings on my d28 for the best of both.

    • @stephenhenion8304
      @stephenhenion8304 2 года назад

      The Rosewood has a really rich tone. I played a Mahogany guitar for years. I was afraid that th tone of Rosewood just wasn't worth it. After 5 minutes of play time at Sam Ash I was convinced... That neck design is Superb, The Full spectrum of Tone had me!!! I m glad I got my D28!! And its NOT FOR SALE!

    I sure loved mine. The only thing I ever liked better was a Gibson Advanced Jumbo. Looks like a J45 but they are rosewood and lightly braced to be VERY loud. If you ever come across one definitely try it out. Gibson don’t make them anymore though so it’s rare to see one anywhere. Only guitar I ever played that could blow the Martin away on volume

    I’m confused. How can it be a 2017 if it is made in 2020? Does 2017 refer to something other than the year?

      The reimagined series came out in 2017

    • @PsychologyWorksOfficial
      @PsychologyWorksOfficial 3 года назад

      @@TaylorSchlupp Gotcha. All guitar models should do that to help us know when the series started. I just got a used one made in 2019, and I wish I could play it as well as you. I think the 1 3/4 nut makes it harder for me to play than if it were the 1 11/16, which I've heard was the size of the nut on D-28s before 2017.
