Thank you so very much for this wonderful music.l want you to know how wonderful our cultural music, most importantly our mende songs are....yes, maybe I am biased. I will be the first to say. My 88 y/o bedridden mother who is also suffering fro. ALZHEIMER'S had her birthday this month. She never responds to conversations and always looks sad. I decided to play these songs and turned it loud in our house and speakers..... Wow. Five minutes later, my mom was laughing to herself and dancing in her bed. Singing the songs to herself. PRAISE THE LORD. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR MAKING MY MOM'S DAY. Wish I could have some Isata Nyambe songs too.
Best comment on this video (in fact on this channel) by a country mile! I'm glad that your mum was able to engage with you through the memories and emotions that Madam Fatu Jebbeh's music evoked. As for being biased, aren't we all in one way or the other? Let him who is without sin throw the first stone, right? Keep enjoying my dear Mende sister.
I thank you very much bro for promoting our culture. When ever i listen to these songs, it's reflect me memory far back when men were boys and when our culture was at the highest peak. Bro keep it up, once thank God bless you.
This is wonderful whenever am down I just listen to one of these songs am up and dancing. What ever happen to Isata Nyambe songs. Please if you have any please play for us. Thanks and your efforts much appreciated.
Hey folks, these songs are very melodious and worth listening to. My heartfelt disappointment is the lack of live videos of the entertaining traditional artists of our countries. I would therefore suggest that the producers animate the live-videos for the enjoyment of traditional lover like me. That said, let me thank you, the producers and off-course the artists themselves for our traditional awakening moment.
Bitasnsons, thank you for this extraordinary effort showcasing our culture and the talents of our traditional artists. I agree, Jebbeh Tu could give Amie Kallon a run for her money. Other contemporaries of her like Mamie Mansaray, Mamie Mindama, Alpha Kongoma, Hawa Yakor are all contestants. What about those before her? Sao N'jamanya and Haja Jenneh Koroma?
+fmcee67 That's my man! But you didn't mention Isatta Nyambe, surely an unforgivable oversight. Lol. Just so you know, I'm always on the lookout for the material of any Sierra Leonean artist/singer from the past, ideally from the pre-war period. If you can help please get in touch.
I am very happy for archiving this great piece on RUclips. Generations yet unborn will listen to this awesome traditional songs of AMIE KALLON. Proudly Mende.
I love these traditional songs very much. The only disappointment is that there are no live videos which the beauty of entertainment. So, I'd like to suggest that if it were not too late they could reproduce those music with (live) videos. That said , I sincerely thank those ladies, Mses Amie Karllone, Fatu Jebbeh, and others. We are proud of them for their melodious voices that shine light on our culture.
