Oh wow, I didn't expect to see the man himself here! I am a huge fan of Sky Cooper and I love your performance as Sly himself! If you don't mind me asking, would you be willing to voice the iconic raccoon if anything Sly related was announced, be it a game, a movie, series, etc? Us Sly fans are starving are content and I'm sure most, if not all of us would want you to return.

Man, i was so angry when i heard that the Crash bandicoot new cartoon was cancelled.
Maybe i'm going to make people angry but i actually like the Ratchet and Clank movie. I still hope the Sly Cooper movie can happening.
I loved the Ratchet and Clank movie too. It's what got me to FINALLY catch up with the games.
The movie had it's charm for sure! After all the years of being a fan and seeing a movie come out for it was amazing regardless, i just miss the sass from Ratchet haha
I agree, I found the Ratchet and Clank movie for me to be enjoyable to watch. Also, I'm starting to become a Sly fan since playing the first game 2 days ago on April 16th, 2024. (However I was at the time a small-to-not fan of Sly and was almost not interested).
But I do remember seeing the Pitch Script "Trailer" and at the time was kinda interested about watching the release of the movie. Now after playing Sly 1 for a couple of days, now as making more interested along with wanting to play Sly 2 and 3. Sadly, can't play Thieves In Time since I don't own a Ps3.
I never play Sly Cooper, but i was interested by the movie and i begin to search about this games serie next. The Ratchet and Clank movie is sure not perfect, but it's was funny and great to see this famous duo on theater.
Old Ratchet was the best, i ahree with that.
I loved the ratchet and clank movie. I thought it had a lot of charm and was very funny. I still love re watching it on blu ray. it made me so sad that it flopped.

Really doubt it, Sly Cooper isn't that big a franchise. Would have flopped just as hard as Ratchet did.
Models probably would have looked as ugly as the teaser trailer and Thieves in Time's models. And for all we know, they would have probably replaced Matt Olsen and Chris Murphy as well and hired some second-rate c lister to voice Carmelita. Also given this movie was supposed to release in 2016, they probably would have made Sly dumber to prop up Inspector Fox.

Damn i wish the 2016 movie was better... Franchises like Sly and Jak too deserve SO much more for how many copies were sold and also with how good the games ARE

I think the trailer was supposed to be shared link only but uploader did public and we got the trailer instead sony, we got public.
I remember when the Ratchet & Clank movie was teased in 2013 for a 2015 release, only to be publicly released in 2016, the same year as the Sly Cooper movie. And what's worst was the Sly Cooper movie was cancelled in favor for a animated series by the writers of Sonic Boom, only for nothing

Ah well, let's not kid ourselves here, the movie/series would've likely been mediocre/awful, if the Ratchet movie was any indication. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I'm glad it was canned haha.
It’s fascinating seeing people criticising fine mediocre or awful adaptations but then get upset and angry for an adaptation getting cancelled even if it sounds as the same level by its details and stuff ,it’s mostly just because it’s canned instead of thinking what would’ve been actually ?tho I wouldn’t mind seeing a fine sly movie if it was fun
@@2ndspringtube708 I'd like to see a good Sly movie too, but given prior history with the Ratchet movie, my expectations were lowered considerably after that.
I'm now with my feet on the ground, if Sony does something for Sly and it will be for the 25 years of the saga, as long as it wants to do something, the problem is that Sony has too many dormant IPs and we can't give space to everyone, let's cross paths fingers for 25 years of the Sly Cooper saga

I think Rainmaker went into the Sly Movie trailer with the same mindset as the initial Ratchet & Clank Movie trailer. Where it gave off the same pitch energy, the character designs were slightly different compared to the final product, and had a release year that wasn't met. Tho there was one scene from that initial trailer, DID actually make it into the film.
However, the film would be delayed so the 2016 PS4 Re-Imagining of the OG PS2 game, would tie into the film's release. And receive the extra polish it needed, despite it's only 10-month development cycle.
Well, we seen what happened. Tho the pitch/announce trailer for Ratchet led to the film actually happening. The same sadly didn't happen for Sly Cooper. Heck, Jak & Daxter was even planned after Sly was done, but because of Ratchet's box office failure, it would not move forward, at least not under Rainmaker.
Either way, I do hope something Sly Cooper related is in the works at PlayStation Productions. If the series can't come back with new games, let the series find new life as a TV show! Given it's comic book & animated series setup, it's perfect!
I have a feeling that there may have been a miscommunication between who ever was in charge of Rainmaker or Sony’s marketing team and the actual production crew who made the pitch. Someone who probably didn’t know much about how animated movies are made probably thought they were much further along in the production process than they actually were and so someone on the marketing team thought it was a good idea to take this pitch, slap a release year on it and then release it online without actually knowing if the film was finished or not

11:03 Pixar has been known for this sort of thing. For so many of their films the very first trailers contain scenes or materials that are not present in the finished film. They’re quite literally teasers to not only let people know they are coming, but to give people an idea of the tone and styles of the films and in numerous cases the general personalities of the characters.
Ratchet abd clank movie went woke got broke. If only they stuck to the original story.
I agree if they just use the original film from the original 2002 Ratchet& Clank game, this film would have got a higher rating
Im really glad you talked about this topic because I wad fully resigned to the thought of “sly is dead”. Which may still be true, but its good to know people are still talking and active about my favorite Playstation exclusive game series.

Sly Cooper deserved his own movie since Mario have his own movie, Sonic have his own movies, Ratchet and Clank have their own movie, Lara Croft have her own movies, the Angry Birds have their own movies, Freddy Fazbear have his own movie, the Pokémon franchise have his own movies, the Mortal Kombat franchise have his own movies and all the popular video games series have their own movies
I'd love a Sly movie or even a TV show but I'd like to finally see Sly 5 even more

Sly Cooper is one of the greatest things to ever hit cartoon/animation/videogames. I've always wondered what happened to this film. The Sly Cooper Franchise is Art.
Sony has a whole animated film production wing that made the Spider-Verse movies. They absolutely could have produced a Sly Cooper movie, but they got cold feet because the Ratchet & Clank movie was mediocre and underperformed.
Kevin Munroe also directed the 2007 TMNT movie, which was very cool and stylized, his Sly Cooper movie could have been awesome.
Such a shame, and such a wasted opportunity.
What a shame. The franchise certainly deserves more respect than that. It’s certainly personal to me since I received the first game by my mother as a small child, on Easter, and it was also the first console game I ever received. So this project would’ve definitely been a top-tier adaptation to what was practically my childhood and for others alike. Maybe one day, that may change.
A shame we never got a proper movie for this franchise. Feels like after the 4th game, it just kinda fell into the chasm of obscurity. I'm sure it would have been better than the attempt with the Ratchet and Clank movie

Sadly it seems like this movie/TV show was quietly cancelled because we haven’t heard anything for several years. The Ratchet and Clank movie underperforming probably didn’t help this project. Not having Kevin Miller in the film as Sly was dogshit. Why bring back Mike Olsen and Chris Murphy but not Kevin? That makes no sense. If you have one, you have to have all three. Carmelita may have had Grey DeLisle back as her voice actress.

I never saw it as a full on Trailer but more a sorta Tech Demo for if there could be a movie, actually feel it was a Trailer but for when a movie does come and likely re-used if it happens because the big thing regardless of what I see it as is there's no date for it coming.

Really hope PlayStation Productions revives the Sly Cooper Movie/TV Show. If it’s a Sly Cooper Movie, make it in the Spider-Verse Animation Style. If it’s a Sly Cooper TV Show, make it in a Cel-Shaded Animation Style with Comic Book-esque Aspects and inspiration from the Sonic Prime Show.
Still hope Sly Cooper returns.
I would like to see a film adaptation of Sly at some point, but I'm glad that particular project didn't get approved. It probably wouldn't have turned out well.
Hey I'm new to your channel. Have you ever talked about the Spyro movie? I remember as a kid seeing the Spyro movie poster and freaking out only to have my hopes dashed
The reveal of a potential Sly Cooper movie left me with mixed feelings…because although I love the franchise, this felt very…off.
Wow...I originally thought that the movie was canceled due to the Ratchet & Clank movie flopping (which I honestly didn't think was that bad of a movie, but was still not the best). This is very interesting stuff and now things make more sense. I would like to see a Sly Cooper movie, if it's done well.
Rainmaker hasn't made a hit or anything big since Reboot and I guess Transformers Beast Wars due to their awful executive control in recent years so it isn't surprising how both the released Ratchet and Clank movie and the unreleased Sly Cooper movie was handled.
Also I find it hard to believe the view count let alone watch time for CGE's content here is as low as it is given his sub count, it's either a RUclips problem with the video not dropping in their Subs or a user problem.
So the so called movie teaser trailer might as well should have been a prank. It was downright misleading. That explains everything.

If the Sly Cooper movie was real, or at least approved by Sony, than this could’ve actually kept the Sly series on life support much like how Ratchet & Clank did when their movie came out, and we could’ve gotten a tie in game that includes remade levels of the first Sly Cooper game, but on a PS4 budget.
We could’ve possibly had to wait 5 or 6 years until a new Sly Cooper game just like we waited for Rift Apart for 5 or 6 years, and it could’ve been a launch title on the PS5, or a a cross play game that’s available on both the PS4 & PS5.
Weather the supposed movie and/or it’s potential tie-in game gets well received or negatively hated is unclear. But if the movie pitch was turned down and became the cancelled show, than the cancelled Sly series would’ve still kept the franchise going, even if the games didn’t get a new installment by the time this show would’ve aired.

Is this also what happened with that spyro movie? We didn't get a trailer, but we did get a poster. Then...nothing.
The Spyro movie never happened because Activision wanted to take Spyro in a new direction, which ended up being Skylanders. All we got was a poster and a few leaked scripts
It is for the best that we never got that Spyro movie. The script leaked years later and the movie would’ve been so bad that It would’ve killed the entire franchise.
I'm gonna peel the bandage off, the script revealed was filled with Fxtish stuff so uhh....yeah.

As a fan of The Sly Cooper series, I was greatly saddened when the movie was pretty much indefinitely on hold. When I heard no news about anything happening, I got even more scared that the series was pretty much dead. Then when they had news that it was being switched to an animated series, I got hope. But, as things happened, we ended up where we are now where we don't know if there's anything actually happening with Sly Cooper or any of the other previously preempted or speculated Sony sort of mascot movies.
To this day I still wonder about the Spyro the Dragon movie that allegedly had a poster. I know with that, universal should still have some rights to the series. If this is the case, they already hit it out of the park with the Mario movie. Universal should team up with Activision and either illumination or DreamWorks does an animated Spyro film.
However, Sony animation could also do the same thing since they have been hitting it out of the park with some of their animated films. Also, since Spider-Man is their big Cash Cow right now, they could quite literally do something similar for some of their stronger IP.
All this is making me wish that we get more Nintendo stuff and also more Sony stuff that's animated and video game related in the future.
For all intensive purposes, we could see some of these things finally be made. Hopefully.
The authenticated script for that failed Spyro the dragon movie leaked I think last year. It would have been an awful franchise killer

@@furryman0213 I didn't say the franchise was a failure. Obviously it has fans, but it doesn't mean everybody will think it's the best thing ever. I have the collection and I think I turned it on for a few moments.. it's okay in my eyes. I'd much rather play Tomb Raider if I was gonna play something like that.
I also watched the movie and I thought it was terrible, too. Definitely would not ever watch again.
