I remember driving on the Pacific Hwy several times between 1995 and 2004. All of these upgrades made a significant difference in that time. But even by 2004, less than 50% was dual carriageway and it still had many dangerous sections. It took until 2020 before the whole road was completed.
And still took another 20 years to complete....top road now though
The Australian road network not completed until dual carriageways have been built between Brisbane and Cairns, Melbourne and Adelaide, and Adelaide and Perth, then all cities of a population of 50,000 and over are linked, i.e Wagga Wagga as an example.
The road now mostly goes by the name of the M1 Pacific Motorway except for the route through Coffs Harbour.
However eventually the whole route will be built as a freeway as be known as the M1 Pacific Motorway similar to the M31 Hume Freeway/Highway/Motorway
Very great and rare find video
Wow times those prices by 6 and that's how much they would cost in 2023.
