The Paradise Club S01E02 Family Favours

- The second episode of the first series of The Paradise Club which was titled 'Family Favours' and first broadcast on BBC1 on 26/09/1989.
Frank (Don Henderson) has taken over The Paradise Club whilst Danny (Leslie Grantham) keeps himself busy by toying with Italian gangster Elliot Rossini (Victor Spinetti).
After a shaky first episode (wooden acting? Solid teak) they're starting to get into their characters. Well, mostly. But Snake Davis makes this episode worth watching, all by himself. He played a now-vanished pub in Leeds back around 1992 and I got to see Snake and the Charmers close up, and he was ace. I hope he's in some more episodes of Paradise Club, and I hope Telly Viewer can upload them - the only other uploads I've found are of variable qualty. The sound on this upload is good - you can make out what they're saying, which isn't always the case on the others.
There is though always the risk of a takedown of Paradise Club videos because of legal disputes over music copyright. I hope that doesn't happen here.
RIP Leslie #happychristmasange Grantham Loved this series when I was a kid, but going by the first ten mins, not planning on revisiting though, but thanks for posting!

My goodness, the 90's really sucked, so bad, so forgettable.
Tony Munsey, Please excuse me, I'm sorry, I stand corrected, I obviously overlooked this was 1989. the 70's and 80's were a great time for me too, with the music and films, Golden age of TV so I agree with what you say about today's modern trash, I hardly watch TV now. I vaguely recall The Paradise club but it went into the 90's and that's when TV, music and films went down hill for me. The 90's were not great for me even on a personal level.
cream bun, the 90's really sucked for me on a number of levels, particularly on a personal one. By the 90's it seems that TV, films and music was declining , it has got worse ever since. My life is so much better now, but TV and film media still sucks as does the music, so I don't watch or listen, just watch youtube.
89 to be exact
Bring back the nineties, no mass censorship, government gaslighting etc.
