This episode plays out like a Greek tragedy... we see two heroes reunite after a lifetime apart, expecting an epic final battle but Grian dies the same death as Jimmy before any closure can be achieved. Truly heartbreaking, 11/10 would watch again

I’ve been going through a really hard time, so hearing that reminder is something that’s giving me a little bit of hope. I’m the darkness I’ve been struggling with, seeing kindness from others, whether it’s directed toward me or not, that’s what has been giving me some hope these past few months.
I would like to once again pitch: Hard Life. Everyone starts off with 3 lives, Green, Yellow, Red as usual. The catch is at the beginning of each session, all players are assigned a task they must complete that session (farm 64 wheat, build an iron golem, kill 10 creepers, etc.) If a player fails to complete their task by the end of the session, they drop one life. Additionally, one player per session is guaranteed the task "kill another player", similar to the boogie man. Anyone on last life always has the "kill another player" task (meaning red names must get one kill per session, but can then be considered passive). To entice alliances and trades, players can take on other players tasks if they so choose (which could lead to either players trading tasks for resources, players helping each other out to firm alliances, or even players tricking other players to take on difficult tasks). Regardless, take whatever break you and the team needs, and we all look forward to more shenanigans in the future!
That little handclap when Etho suggested enacting the sword got me grinning like a fool! What a series; as a planet, we truly don't deserve such amazing content.
Especially ironic because he tried to fishing rod kill Impulse a few episodes back and died because he landed on the one block of land surrounded by water.
This might get lost in the comment section, but I had an idea for another life series. It uses the time mechanic of limited life and the pairing mechanic of double life. Basically, you’re randomly paired with someone like in double life, but instead of both people dying when one dies, the one who dies loses an hour and the other one gains half an hour. So instead of forcing you to ally with someone, you’re sort of forced to be enemies with someone, and we all love a bit of chaos on the life series. It could be called Linked Life or something Ok apparently Grian said that they don’t use ideas from the comments and that by commenting it actually makes it less likely that your idea will happen so I hope they didn’t see this!
I get discouraging people spamming ideas but if they actually refuse to do anything someone says then that's just being a shitty creator, or just a shitty person in general, if it's an actually good concept, *and* one they hadn't thought of and like, and then don't do it purely out of spite

The life series is so cool because they manage to come up with an original idea every time, and if someone else comes up with the concept for them, it might take some of the enjoyment out of the process for them. This episode was an emotional roller coaster I screamed when etho brought up the sword and I laughed so hard when Grian fell. I really really really hope there is another life series each one gives something so amazing that I never knew I needed. Please please please make another life series eventually

I think it was cleo who said that a Grian and Etho team up was something to be feared and I gotta say even if it only lasted moments it was something to behold, I swear I saw JoJo energy coming up around them.
Yah Grian and Etho would amplify both their personalities. Both are good at handling traps and pvp skills are also up there, and both are calculative also. Both in a team...damn
This season in particular is so fascinating to me. The way everyone's deaths are entirely certain, only a matter of time, and not purely the result of accidents and murders; the vast expanses of sky bridges, the time spent away from the ground in this near endless void and especially the amount of time spent entirely alone, only seeing other players on the horizon. It makes this season so post-apocalyptic and eerie in the best way. In these later episodes, particularly this and the penultimate, theres this sense of unease, loneliness and desperation thats legitimately unsettling. Fantastic content!
I'm thinking short form daily podcast series that runs parallel to the life series called "Life After Death" where the players and fans can have a short q&a with a good show host who isnt currently a player in the series

Concept for next season: Multiple Life You're sharing an amount of lives with a group of 3 or 4 people (lives, not hearts like in double life) This makes forced allies, which is funny because some people exally don't want to be allies with each other. Other than that it makes people more loyal to their teammates so the chance of betrayal is very small.
im still thinkin about one i saw where one player starts with a kind of hot potato and through some mechanic passes it on and whoever has it by the end loses 1 or two lives
I can't even begin to tell you how much I've enjoyed the life series. I started watching it about a week ago and have been sucked in. Watching yall have so much fun together is on par with big production TV. Thank you so much for this series, Grian.

Wow, what a wonderful season this has been! Grian, I'd like to seroiusly thank you for creating this amazing series! It has brought me so much joy and is in my opinion the best MCYT project I've seen in a while. Now, I'm usually a quiet viewer, but as another season has ended, this feels like a good moment to share some of my thoughts on the past and hopes for the future of the Life Series. I have noticed that the character of the life series has changed over time: 3rd and Last life had quite a bit of roleplay to them, with narrative throughlines, effectively rising tension and great climactic moments. Themes, ambitions, emotions grew from events and in turn motivated more to happen. Double and Limited Life, on the other hand, felt more episodic, driven by whatever shenanigans people spontaneously came up with, a bunch of friends having fun together. There were still little bits of roleplay here and there, but not as tightly connected to what was happening, and with a much lighter tone to them. Please do not take this as me saying the Life Series is not as good as it was. It just has a different feel to it, and both variations have their own merits - the deep emotional impact of the first two installments versus the sheer hilarity of the latest two. I loved them all and am already super hyped for the fifth season! But I do want to encourage you to bring out the roleplay more! Give your actions weight and meaning, create a narrative from them, follow through emerging allicances and conflicts to a satifying end. In my opinion - I'm always a sucker for a good story - it does elevate this series to a whole other plane. It especially adds a lot of rewatch value to it, and 3rd and Last Life definitely made me want to return to them, like to a good movie. In short, you all have the potential to craft wonderful stories from the chaos, and I'd love to see more of it going forward!
Tbf only reason he was shooting them was because Pearl threw Cleo off the ladder. Nosy Neighbors and Clockers always had a chill policy between them despite technically being enemies

The best life series of them all in my opinion. The groups had such good chemistry, and no one got chased out when they were low on time. People looking out for each other and giving up their own time for their friends. I like it 🙂👍 I hope there's less fighting in the sky for end game next time though.

@@dry4smash946this is a pretty late reply but the great thing about hermitcraft is you can start in ANY season I personally started watching hermitcraft in season 6 and still haven't watched the previous other seasons since i'm a grian viewer (I am planning on watching the other seasons, just not now) but the first hermitcraft video I came across was in season 7 and I wasn't confused with the storyline whatsoever although there will be some references to previous seasons here and there but it won't really impact your viewing experience with the season you decide to start watching in, however I recommend you to look at other hermit's video and decide which ones you can vibe with, trust me it helps a lot, you can pick multiple hermits to tune into or just one, it's honestly up to you as long as you enjoy it there's really no rules in watching hermitcraft so don't overthink too much, I mean if you already like limited life then feel free to watch hermitcraft because you may just love it as well, they're just as chaotic but with pretty builds & entertaining arcs, hope I helped x edit : I noticed you have mentioned that you don't like watching survival videos, but believe me hermitcraft is more than survival videos, they have games, gigantic and beautiful builds, incredible storyline, and most importantly the people in the server are fun to watch, there are some hermits that are already included in the life series so the familiarity is there and it won't feel like watching strangers.
I think it's safe to say that Limited Life is the best season of the series in my opinion!! Cuz like, they turned the concept of lives into the concept of time, the boogeyman became a blessing, it didn't drag so long like Last Life, wasn't too rushed like Double Life, and wasn't too peaceful like 3rd Life! The Perfect Balance between Chaos, Peace, Pacing, and Entertainment!
eh but then again i feel like it ruined a lot of the tension. Because inthe very beginning its basically, you have 24 lives, and if u die as many times theres not much punishment / tension until very late into the series. But with 3rd life or any of the others, one death, and all of a sudden theres high tensions, which imo made it a lot more entertaining
Eh I disagree, I think the time caused too much tension in the end and too little at the start, at the start deaths were almost meaningless and there wasn't that much incentive for conflict, the time instead of lives also made it so that selling lives like in Last Life wasn't a thing anymore which I think really helped the relations between different groups in it. Now at the last episode of the series it was mostly people with 4+ hours left killing people with only a few dozen minutes left, the time made it so that people could get far more of an advantage over others than they could in any other seires, Scott and Martyn's victory was set in the stone the moment their only enemies had almost no time left while they had several hours.
I love how these series always start nice and peaceful and then somebody starts a small conflict with someone else over who stole who’s 6 iron bars which then escalates into a war which kills the entire server
the bad boys been taken by the bad boys bread bridge is the righteous thing that can ever happen, especially that Joel and Jim did die by Grian saying "Yes," so this can't be any better than what is already is. Thanks for the series and I cant wait for the next one
Ok, I don't know if a lot of people saw it, but when Grain was shooting impule off the ladder and hitting him a ridiculous amount of times, Scar said "CuTGuY" in chat. I don't know why, but that simple comment warmed my heart so much. I love the relationship between everyone on these series

The life series is so cool because they manage to come up with an original idea every time, and if someone else comes up with the concept for them, it might take some of the enjoyment out of the process for them. Then again, I have no idea what they’re thinking so maybe they do just want the satisfaction of saying they came up with it, who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This episode was an emotional roller coaster I screamed when etho brought up the sword and I laughed so hard when Grian fell. I really really really hope there is another life series each one gives something so amazing that I never knew I needed. Please please please make another life series eventually

I just now found out about this, and I think it's pretty cool
This season in particular is so fascinating to me. The way everyone's deaths are entirely certain, only a matter of time, and not purely the result of accidents and murders; the vast expanses of sky bridges, the time spent away from the ground in this near endless void and especially the amount of time spent entirely alone, only seeing other players on the horizon. It makes this season so post-apocalyptic and eerie in the best way. In these later episodes, particularly this and the penultimate, theres this sense of unease, loneliness and desperation thats legitimately unsettling. Fantastic content!

You're sharing an amount of lives with a group of 3 or 4 people (lives, not hearts like in double life)
This makes forced allies, which is funny because some people exally don't want to be allies with each other.
Other than that it makes people more loyal to their teammates so the chance of betrayal is very small.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I've enjoyed the life series. I started watching it about a week ago and have been sucked in. Watching yall have so much fun together is on par with big production TV. Thank you so much for this series, Grian.

Grian, I'd like to seroiusly thank you for creating this amazing series! It has brought me so much joy and is in my opinion the best MCYT project I've seen in a while.
Now, I'm usually a quiet viewer, but as another season has ended, this feels like a good moment to share some of my thoughts on the past and hopes for the future of the Life Series.
I have noticed that the character of the life series has changed over time: 3rd and Last life had quite a bit of roleplay to them, with narrative throughlines, effectively rising tension and great climactic moments. Themes, ambitions, emotions grew from events and in turn motivated more to happen. Double and Limited Life, on the other hand, felt more episodic, driven by whatever shenanigans people spontaneously came up with, a bunch of friends having fun together. There were still little bits of roleplay here and there, but not as tightly connected to what was happening, and with a much lighter tone to them.
Please do not take this as me saying the Life Series is not as good as it was. It just has a different feel to it, and both variations have their own merits - the deep emotional impact of the first two installments versus the sheer hilarity of the latest two. I loved them all and am already super hyped for the fifth season!
But I do want to encourage you to bring out the roleplay more! Give your actions weight and meaning, create a narrative from them, follow through emerging allicances and conflicts to a satifying end. In my opinion - I'm always a sucker for a good story - it does elevate this series to a whole other plane. It especially adds a lot of rewatch value to it, and 3rd and Last Life definitely made me want to return to them, like to a good movie.
In short, you all have the potential to craft wonderful stories from the chaos, and I'd love to see more of it going forward!

Tbf only reason he was shooting them was because Pearl threw Cleo off the ladder. Nosy Neighbors and Clockers always had a chill policy between them despite technically being enemies

The groups had such good chemistry, and no one got chased out when they were low on time. People looking out for each other and giving up their own time for their friends. I like it 🙂👍

@@GumballMachineryas a fellow someone who actually didn’t watch hermitcraft before the life series, i just, agree, i usually dont watch lets play/walkthrough videos if i dont know the person they are playing or the game itself, and survival rarely gets my attention, but this time, man, it just nailed it everything about the series is just so good, and the main part of that is the cast itself is just too perfect mainly becuase they always rather choose making traps or doing deals rather than just a normal boring pvp fight

I personally started watching hermitcraft in season 6 and still haven't watched the previous other seasons since i'm a grian viewer (I am planning on watching the other seasons, just not now) but the first hermitcraft video I came across was in season 7 and I wasn't confused with the storyline whatsoever
although there will be some references to previous seasons here and there but it won't really impact your viewing experience with the season you decide to start watching in, however I recommend you to look at other hermit's video and decide which ones you can vibe with, trust me it helps a lot, you can pick multiple hermits to tune into or just one, it's honestly up to you
as long as you enjoy it there's really no rules in watching hermitcraft so don't overthink too much, I mean if you already like limited life then feel free to watch hermitcraft because you may just love it as well, they're just as chaotic but with pretty builds & entertaining arcs, hope I helped x
edit : I noticed you have mentioned that you don't like watching survival videos, but believe me hermitcraft is more than survival videos, they have games, gigantic and beautiful builds, incredible storyline, and most importantly the people in the server are fun to watch, there are some hermits that are already included in the life series so the familiarity is there and it won't feel like watching strangers.

I think it's safe to say that Limited Life is the best season of the series in my opinion!! Cuz like, they turned the concept of lives into the concept of time, the boogeyman became a blessing, it didn't drag so long like Last Life, wasn't too rushed like Double Life, and wasn't too peaceful like 3rd Life!

eh but then again i feel like it ruined a lot of the tension. Because inthe very beginning its basically, you have 24 lives, and if u die as many times theres not much punishment / tension until very late into the series. But with 3rd life or any of the others, one death, and all of a sudden theres high tensions, which imo made it a lot more entertaining

Eh I disagree, I think the time caused too much tension in the end and too little at the start, at the start deaths were almost meaningless and there wasn't that much incentive for conflict, the time instead of lives also made it so that selling lives like in Last Life wasn't a thing anymore which I think really helped the relations between different groups in it. Now at the last episode of the series it was mostly people with 4+ hours left killing people with only a few dozen minutes left, the time made it so that people could get far more of an advantage over others than they could in any other seires, Scott and Martyn's victory was set in the stone the moment their only enemies had almost no time left while they had several hours.
It’s almost impressive how you can be surrounded by water and still manage to fall on the few blocks to your final death.

I love how these series always start nice and peaceful and then somebody starts a small conflict with someone else over who stole who’s 6 iron bars which then escalates into a war which kills the entire server
