On the issue of gbv ( ANC secretary critises men), the focus should not be to criticise men, but to empower women so that they can depend on themselves and not depend on a man for survival or provision. When we say empowerment it should be all women, because in reality ( 30 years ago) empowerment had eyes, in other words it was able to choose who to empower, but pretending to empower everyone while it was not. A surbub women got opportunities than a rural/townships women, politically connected women got opportunities than those who were not ( unwritten rules of the ruling party), friends and girlfriends of politicians got opportunities than non friends. If you were lucky to get opportunities, is when one looks more attractive ( physical appearance) to those that are responsible for giving those opportunities. So government should grow economy and create many jobs for everyone not what they have been doing in the past. We should stick to principles as they are (equal opportunities to everyone irrespective of who you are, where you come from and how one looks).

I think honesty is what needs to be fixed in relationships. Lena yewomen empowering sounds exclusive to men... This is my view, in recent cases men complained about women cheating. I know men do cheat but when it's done by women men fail to contain it...
Maybe I need to understand the concept first (women empowerment) before I comment. Ungixolele

For me it is a government initiated program which has an objective to uplift women socio-economic status or changing their living conditions for better. However i still don't believe in gender based empowerment but an upliftment of all since we were all marginalised socio-economically. At the same time, the irony of it all is that the idea of women empowerment indirectly puts blame on men, however biological make up could not ( still to this day) allow them to work in a harsh environment or to do heavy duty jobs, that's why men are still dominating mining, construction and so forth.
