I bought a new one years ago, and it still works. Used mainly for driving games. The last one it worked on was Test Drive Unlimited (Hardcore Mode rocks). It worked on TDU2 during initial beta testing, but stopped after a developer update. Fair winds and following seas to all.
I recently bought one FFB 2 off of ebay. It works fine and centers correctly, but the motors that simulate the centering spring feel a little stuttery/jerky near full excursion/deflection. Like if it hops from one gear tooth into another, or like the teeth of the gears interfere with each other. Just before the full deflection, the centering force decreases again, before it becomes maximum. It feels very smooth if it is not powered, so I assume it comes from the motors. Is that normal behaviour, or are the motor windings somehow magnetized and need to ne replaced?
Mine is also like this. Probably just needs some lube, but until games are close to unplayable I'm just gonna leave it as it is... Don't wanna break anything. I can't seem to get the vibration or feedback effects to work in-game. It powers on and all correctly, but doesn't jerk back when I shoot or crash... Do I need some kind of FF program?
I bought a sidewinder 2 with ffb to play with MSFS 2020 but when I plug it in it thinks (states) it is an xbox360 controller?! How do I get windows 10 to cooperate? If I uninstall, turn off and replug it happens again. Under device manager I cant update the driver as it says the best one is already installed?? Any advice pls!
Hi, just purchased the steam version of X3 and tried it ; all seems fine except the force feedback doesn't seem to fully function, the only feedback I got was when I hit a meteor and it gave me a left jolt. Am I doing something wrong in the settings? In the setting I selected "body builder". Thanks
I use a yoke, joystick, rudder peddles, car racing peddles and driving wheel. I use different combinations for different simulators (ie: racing vs driving vs flight sim). This requires me to undo one thing in place of another thing. Your setup looks like you have several products on some sort of rail system. I’m guessing you can just slide in place what you need to use. Can you tell me what your setup is? Manufacturer or homemade do-it-yourself?
Hello, I have a problem with the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 joystick. The buttons fail or are pressed twice. Do you by any chance know the model they are to buy and replace them? I have opened the joystick but I don't see the model of the buttons
I play on this stick .. On play station emulator game ACe Combat 3 ... But if i remember i was ned.configure it on ..Xpadder before ... Its unbalivable...to play it it was not desighn for it etc.. microsoft was stopped by the european union if i remember right because of the game accessories where a monopoly. so sad loss of great accessories. did you plug the power supply into your force feed back joystick, because there are 3 levels i think and the top level of force feed back will shake your house apart and give your wrist rs inuries. ( not joking a month of force feedback and you will be rubbing you wrists your video reminded me of it back in the day)
the last game I tried it and works as 2004 flight sim. Most Games Work in the past, But the Rumble only works during ps2 and xbox release era. then some rumble dont work. even on ACE Combat.
RoF(Rise of Flight) and DCS(Digital Combat Simulator) are two games that still work perfectly with the ffb sidewinder. RoF works right away, but with DCS you have to swap the force feedback axis in the settings, and thats the main problem with this stick, it still works with a lot of sims but the force feedback axis is usually wrong, only DCS gives you the option to switch them. I really recommend RoF with the sidewinder, it gives you a really good idea on what it was like to fly ww1 warbirds, the stick doesnt actually center until air starts running over your wings, just like the real thing.
The force feedback controller does not need a driver for Windows Vista and up. This controller works only and supports on certain games. The early x-series does . Descent freespace. But current titles don't. It does not share the same direct x direct play
