If you cannot build a 4th generation multi role fighter jet just focused on building a 20 -30 seats aircraft with 80% local content since no turboprop aircraft engines are built in the all Africa. Countries with limited resources than Nigeria like Uzbekistan build large aircraft and helicopter for general and commercial aviation so Nigeria has the men and muscle to do it too , there's a beginning for everything don't worry about the skills you don't have because over the time any minor deficit will be fixed with the next generation of Nigerians ready to change the game.. All the best from Congo Brazzaville.
Let me get thus right, from ‘64 to 2015 and only a *30% serviceability rate!?* _What have to NAF been doing..!?_ Am glad that things are starting to happen after _all_ this time, but how does this project Nigeria or the continent of Africa for that matter in a good light? Again, am glad there appears to be competent leadership focussing on strategic SELF SUFFICIENCY at last, but how could things have been allowed to get so bad..? It is a national, regional and continental level shame. Whether it’s down to corruption or sheer ineptitude, those previously responsible should be identified, court-martialled and shot. Now go and deploy against those idiot gangs of kidnappers in the north instead of peaceful protesters in the south. The ‘greatest’ economy on the historically coveted continent and only managed a 30% serviceability rate. Time for some hard decisions about ‘leadership’ and whether the very concept of a Nigeria is even viable... SMDH
