Disadvantage with OCI even when come back to india and kids who where only born abroad and have oci and have study in india from primary to 12th but for comtinuing for futher studies in college we have to pay 3 to 5 times the fees for college when we are living,earning and paying tax in India.Apart not all colleges accept or have OCI quota.

India prohibits *Dual citizenship* which is the most common reason forcing Indians at scale to lose their Indian citizenship when they gain any other citizenship in their country of work.
In addition *Renunciation* is a requirement for *OCI* . India does not collect data about how sad Indians feel when giving up Indian citizenship in the renunciation or OCI forms.

Most OCI citizens would love to move back to India because with our SSI benefits we can't live here but we can have a good life back home because we have houses there
holding OCI.....and living in india since childhood, I have to take admission in NRI quota, which is very high😢
People are living India because of higher taxation
No one will come back, because of the dirty politics, in India ie HINDUXMUSLIM, present govt not treating all our citizens equal
India should allow dual citizenship, Indian Talent pool, Industry & Economy will be benifited by this.
Bangladeshi people come across the border & getting Voter Card, Aadhar Card, PAN , Ration card very easily in West Bengal.
Then why Indian born & their heirs will not get dual citizenship ??? Atleast, they should be allowed to retain their passport, Voter card.

Corruption and pollution these are major problems. Most overseas Indians like to come back after retirement because of emotional ties. Two of my properties are occupied with fake documents in Kolkata. Officials are asking bribes openly. There’s no escape. NRIs money and properties are up for grab.
Dual citizenship is slightly better. Currently OCI allows no-visa ,work, buy property , aadhar and PAN. only thing is OCI cant buy agricultural property in india.
I have OCI and want to buy 1 acre farm. So dual citizenship is great for this 😮

Nothing would change even with dual citizenship. They still wouldn't live in the country. It's absurd having people with split loyalties within your borders and America is beginning to understand it the hard way now.
