    To reduce the headspeed to a desires RPM, you can order a specific kV motor from Egodrift. I have two, and the consensus is that they run cooler than many others, making them ideal for scale builds where air flow can be an issue.

    Flybuilder,
    There are so few of these vids out there. I'm currently working on a beat up 2nd hand md500e fuse for my stretched 700e v2 and I keep watching this video over and over and over. I'd like to thank you for putting this up. Stay loose!

    Hello, very nice build. I am considering putting my Trex 700e V2 into the same fuselage. My question concerns the tail control rod. Do you remember where you got it? Also what length, how did you determine where to exit the tail boom and were you able to fit the standard control rod guides onto the boom? Thank you for any advice you may provide.

    Impressive review indeed Flybuilder, thank you for the very helpful info.
    Would love to see a flight video as you did with the JR and Airwolf.
    Particularly interested in how well the main gear is doing with the 10T pinion with the fairly high loading of the Witte blades?

    • @flybuilder
      @flybuilder  2 года назад +2

      I’ll try to get one! The main gear has at least 100 flights on it with no visible wear at all with the 10t pinion. I have pulled hard Gs at fairly high head speeds and very low head speeds on the Witte blades. They are awesome. Actually- I had a mishap not long after I shot this vid. Got a new Futaba 18SZ transmitter and copied the file over from the old 14SG. Well- that put a bug in the throttle cut- hard to explain why but on the first flight with the new transmitter, I flipped her over inverted like usual and the motor stopped. Oh my. This about 10 feet off the beach. I managed to roll it upright before it landed hard in the gravel. The blades hit beach wood and gravel. Initially I figured they were done. Upon inspection- all were scratched but very much intact. One blade really scratched and gouged badly. Anyway- some thin CA and after a few repairs to the airframe I flew it. Scared at first… but have dozens of flights on it since. Blades holding fine. They are tough. Haven’t decided if I want to drip another $500 for new ones and a piece of mind.. anyway, if nothing else it’s a testament to their resilience

      @@flybuilder great save by the sounds! Would you by any chance remember which main shaft you used, and did you modify the elevator servo support to accomodate the 440 motor diameter?

    • @flybuilder
      @flybuilder  2 года назад +1

      @@Scottheli99 I honestly can’t remember which shaft I ended up using. If memory serves I bought 4 or 5 different shafts to decide. I did have to grind a little on the elevator servo holder just a little to clear the motor.

    Great build. How did you get the wires to the skid port and stbd lights?

    • @flybuilder
      @flybuilder  4 года назад +3

      Thanks! The legs are solid wood with a glass wrap. So too sketchy to try to fish wires- so I ran the wires from the light through the skid tube to the back of the skid, through the side of the plastic cap, forward on the exterior of the tube along the inside (wrapped in black heat shrink and hit glued to skid), then up the exterior inside of the rear legs (in red heat shrink and hot glued), then through the fuse just under the opening of the leg. Hope that makes sense.

      Just reverse components on the tail rotor assembly and flip over the one way bearing. It’s quite simple.
