Sponsoring a young lad is a great idea, it can be expensive at times and giving them an opportunity would be fantastic. Keep the content comming, always full of useful info. 🤙
My clutch carrier\bearing case goes in the mini oven Set at 100oC the ally is fine it can distort at around 150oC so 100 max then i put new bearings in a snap bag in the freezer for 15min and then install works great 👍
Greetings from one of the Texas 5, love my FG 4WD and racing with the guys over here in TX! Any time you make it state-side, swing by and we can scrounge up a car for you I'm sure! Great video and really helpful for my XR3R, loved the Zenoah teardown and rebuild as well. Would you ever consider a video on brake setup/bias tuning? Either hydro or cable style. Keep up the great work man!
Great video Mark, I have missed this one. I am about the do a freshen up on the FG 4wd Modellsport. Will be the first run on the 4wd for nearly 8 months, thanks for all the info.
hello my friend Mark, another great video again from you. Congrats of your methods installing the bearings, i hate to see people straggling on them with a hammer at my track, hahahahahahah, keep up the good work and for last, if you are going to give the mini guys a tour with setup give it also for us with the FW01
Two very good and practical methods of installing bearings. Thanks for the video. Also, great idea about sponsoring a young driver. Seems like too many of us on the track have way too many kilometers on the odometer.
Haha or I'm just a sucker for fixing cars!! its all about filling the grid while giving back. I remember dreaming of being at the track as a kid, hopefully I can make that dream come true for someone! Thanks Legend!
Hi Mark . I have always enjoyed your video's .I took a break from the hobby and came back to your channel but realised that you have not posted any new video's . Are you still into RC car
Internal bearning in the freezer for a couple of hours. alu part in the oven 50 degrees celsius and the bearing slides right in without any kind of tool or "force". and vice versa with bearing on a shaft
once you decide to wack out a bearing, they become 'unusable' as you have damaged the traces, balls and carrier. so be sure you are ready to put new ones in. as for getting them out: just wack them out however you see fit.
Overall a good video, but the "wrong method" won't really stress the cage itself when pressing on the inner race, it stresses the balls. They'll get chipped/deformed and won't run true anymore.

Another good video, keep them coming. I use drill press instead of a vice, but same principal.

How to get them out?

I'm cringing now thinking about all the bearings I've bodge installed over the years 😬
