Notes for you: When light is reflected into our eyes we see colours. Primary colours (colours that cannot be created by any other colour) - red, blue and yellow. Secondary colours (colours made by equal amounts of primary colours) - green, orange and violet Tertiary colours (When a primary and secondary colour are mixed) - red orange, blue green etc. Every individual colour can be altered by changing value by tinting, shading and toning. Tint- colour + white Shade - colour + black Tone - colour + black + white Monochromatic is when a painting is made up of tints, shades and tones of 1 colour. Colours are often categorised by temperature. Warm (reds, orange and yellow) and cold (green, blue and purple) Colour combinations create many effects in art.
Your Elements of Art videos are fantastic. The art, the information, the narration and the background music all add to the excellent series you have created. Thank you.

I watch this on purpose, and even tho its boring and the voice is not energizing, it seems a good video for my review and exam on 4th quarter, wish me luck!
I am watching this because it is actually interesting to me, and I appreciate the work put into this. Both the art displayed and the soothing voice made this learning process very aesthetic. Thanks!
This was simple, clear, covered all the elements in an easy-to-understand way and was just the right length. Thank you so much for these valuable and basic lessons.
Re: the opening comment, why pit representational art ( art that depicts real recognizable objects, places and beings) against non-representational art? Referring to non-representational artists, he says,” their art didn’t represent the outside world ( whatever THAT means ) or take you to another place. It reinforced the fact that you're looking at a painting." Why does a non-representational piece reinforce the notion that you are'' looking at a painting'' any more than a ''realistic'' work by Andrew Wyeth or Edward Hopper or Winslow Homer or Norman Rockwell does ? All are paintings Both genres are valid. Chill, will ya?
Aaron you are correct, because the colours you've suggested are actually primary colours such as in paints, dyes, and ink, for several examples. You can make any colour lnown to man from those primary colours you've suggest in the mediums afore-noted. Red can be made from primary colours. Red, Blue, and Green are primary colours from light energy of which you can make any colour known to man. Professional resources can be found on this topic. I hope this video will be updated.

Types of colors:
Primary - Red, Yellow, Blue

Tertiary - Red-Orange, Blue-Green
Shading (Adding color white) - Pink, Light Blue, Light green
Warm - Reds, Oranges, Yellows
Cool - Blues, Violets, Greens

Shade is adding black. Tint is adding white. You have that wrong. Now other people believe the wrong thing.
Corrections - 1.Shading is adding black, tinting is adding white.
2.The tertiaries also include violet-red.
