My first salamander water pump for new shower lasted 6 months the second only 2 months fitted to guidelines for 5 years warranty. Plumber coming out tonight but looking like I’ll be with out a working shower for a while.
Hello. Sorry to hear you were unhappy with the service we provided. Could you send us your pumps serial number, contact number and email address to CustomerServices@salamanderpumps.co.uk or via social media DM.
My Salmander pump was fine for about 4 years then recently it has started rattling really loud 2 minuets after turning it on and the rattle continues after I have turned the shower of for between 10 to 20 minuets, is that the valve or the pump fan it self ?.
Hi David. Hard water can cause a build-up of calcium deposits, whilst not the point of completely blocking a pipe, it may over time reduce the flow of water into the pump. As a result, over time the pump might run louder than expected. If water quality is an issue, a water conditioner before the pump should reduce any calcium in the supply and improve the quality of water passing through the pump. Thanks.
Hi there, I have a CT 30 for 16 months now. Just realised having it kicking at seemingly random times is not a normal thing, but regardless since yesterday its noise has increased a lot and we smelled a bit of rubber in there too, any advice?
Hello, We're sorry to hear you have issues with our pump. Could you please email us your contact details, pump's serial number and information about the problem with a pump at Tech@Salamanderpumps.co.uk
Hi , I have just had a Salamander CT range pump fitted to boost my shower pressure. The pressure is now working but the intense noise is ear shattering . To the extent that my neighbours said they thought my walls were going to come through. It was suggested to feed a carpet piece under the feet to lessen the noise. I am reluctant to move any part of the pump. My shower installation has been somewhat of a saga and I thought that there was light at the end of the tunnel, but obviously not. I have found myself checking the RUclips site for information and advice .One subject that keeps coming up is the use of the flange system. I am no expert but i am sure this was not fitted. i would be very grateful if you shed some light and advice accordingly.
Hi. Thanks for your comment. We have designed our products to be as quiet as possible but there is some noise associated with their operation. Reducing the vibration passed from the pump to its surroundings by installing a pump mat can help ensure the installation is as quiet as possible. Aerated water passing through the pump will increase the operation noise. Fitting a flange will reduce aeration and protect the pump. Take a look at this article for more information - www.salamanderpumps.co.uk/blog/how-quiet-are-shower-pumps-and-why-do-they-make-noise/1076. Thanks.
Hi, I have just had one of CT75xtra fitted, today. My problem is the noise is so loud it is unuseable, my neighbor complained & I had to switch it off just so my partner could wash after finishing work. The pump was fitted by a very skilled plumber & I've checked over his work myself after looking at the install advice on Salamander website. I've personally worked with a number of pumps in different environments in my life. Including industrial type pumps used to drain flooded trenches to pumps for liquid cooling systems. None made the screeching drill like sound the CT75 is making. I'm pretty sure the pump has to defective? To add I live in a solid walled cottage, not a new build. So takes a lot for a neighbor to complain.
Hi Joe, we are very sorry to hear that you’re experiencing these issues with your CT75 pump. Could you please send your pump’s serial number and a contact number to Tech@salamanderpumps.co.uk and give them a summary of the problems that you have encountered and someone will be in touch. Thanks.
Hi, i have a CTF30TU that you replaced for me under warranty as there was excess noise on the original after 3 weeks of use. This one has been in use for just over a year but i hava an issue with the pump stopping(for about 5- 7 seconds)and starting whenever just the hot to the bath is in use...if i mix hot and cold evenly it is fine. There is no leak in the system so could it be a dodgy sensor?
@@chazsach6594 Hi Chaz, you can unplug the pump when it is not in use, but most pumps will require regular use to prevent stiction (a film of water protects the seals in the pump, if the pump is left unused for a long period this water can dry out). You can switch the pump off at the wall, but the pump should only kick in when there is a demand for water. So, unless the pump is being used early on a morning or late at night and is causing a disruption, there shouldn’t really be any reason to unplug.
Hi David, no this video does not show a pump active in it's installation, therefore no pump sound. The purpose is to discuss the reasons why a pump may be nosier than it should be. You can however listen to a Salamander Pump running by watching the following video. ruclips.net/video/6KntloUwotw/видео.html

Helpful video, wanted to see if hard water can cause the pump cycle over time to become more regular and louder?

Good info, can i plug the pump out while I'm not using it? 👍
Hi, the power supply must be kept on to the pump. Thanks
@@SalamanderPumps What is the technical reason for NOT removing the plug?
