Yeah, this was good. I’m going back and forth between 136 and 400 re: which sound best to my ears. The 226 sound is the least agreeable. But, may have to listen about 10 more times to be sure.
Very impressive collection there! I think I’m torn between 1928 and 1930. Two very different sounds but nice characteristics (if that’s the right word).
1/2 through the video. I’m rooting for 1933 so far. The 1930 looks to be strung with Nylgut and I don’t think they do this uke justice. I’d love to hear the 1930 with strings more like the others. Im now done with the 2nd 1/2 and… I’m still with the 1933. It’s quieter but I’m hearing tone I like. However, between 1933 and the 1928, it’s neck and neck for me. Great editing and I like mix of ‘sound colors’ in the two pieces you chose.
That's a very cool comparison. All sound great but I think 136 is my favorite. I would love to get my hands on one of these some day.
You play so well!! Thank you for those comparisions!!
Ik vind de eerste 136 en de laatste 400 het fijnste klinken. Lichte voorkeur voor de eerste 136. Groet Hein
296 sounds best for me but I’d take the screen hole one and tame it a bit if recording. I like the historical aspect and think it looks best!

For me , favourite is 1928! 2nd is 1933. Great video thanks for sharing. I need to learn more about these stunning instruments.
I'm working on a book about them!
@@ukulelezaza awesome, I'll keep a look out for it 👍

Thanks Corey. I agree about the strings on the 1930. That uke belongs to a friend and I'll make sure to suggest a different set to him.
296 for me 😎
1928
Wow, do you own all of these ? They all sound great, my favourites would be the warmest sounding ones, 136 and 400 !
Three are mine, the other one used to be. ;) 136 is my favorite too, although I prefer the looks of the small bodies.
I could buy a car with the cost of all those ukuleles in this video.
And then you have a car. Wow! ;)
